Matt isn't even trying anymore- The Simpsons Thread
Hopefully there isn't one already, but even if ther is, why isn't The Simpsons as funny as they were anymore? More seasons keep popping up and I can see how much it keeps getting rather bland, the last rerun i watched included Homer being paralyzed to the point he could only communicate to Lisa by using Flatulence. Maybe that was funny to some, but I don't see how that could even be Simpsons material as compared to what they were before the Movuie came out.
It feels as if the show itself tries to be better against the likes of Family Guy by incorporating such humor into what I believed something worthy of watching.
So how long will it be on with more seasons and will it ever pick up at all?

But I also haven't paid for TV in 2 1/2 years.
There will be no further discussion then
Don't have a cow, man
Still better than anything Seth Macfarlane does, that's for sure.
They are still super funny.
Probably funnier to me now then when I watched them as a kid.
Seasons 3-8 were the peak years.
I mean I haven't watched it in about 8 years.
But It just started to get really dumb around the time they killed Maud Flanders IMO.
And from what I've heard about recent seasons it's pretty terrible about celebrity guests all the time and dumb recycling of old characters like frank grimes and such.
I think that shows that last more than 10 years always start to get a little old... I feel the same way about comic book characters though so...
Explain how?

Twin Peaks was the best damn television show ever. I had a dang ass religious experience with that show and I genuinely mean that. With that being said, season 2 just can't compete with the pilot and first season. I feel like it's just the nature of the beast as far as TV as a medium goes for a variety of reasons. Now I'm not a big TV person but I know there are exceptions to the rule but they are just that, exceptions.
Speaking of Twin Peaks we are so close to 25 years later if there are any fans out there.
heat was a good movie
it's everything you're looking for
The jump from traditional to digital animation is super evident in them. They're able to produce episodes much more cheaply and efficiently and can do a lot of things that were just not feasible in the past, but they lose a lot of character and life in the process. Without the ability to do smear frames, really crazy squash and stretch and drag, you lose a lot of the zany, kinetic energy that was possible in the past.
I fucking love smear frames. They look utterly bizarre by themselves, but done well, they're hardly noticeable beyond the feeling they produce in the shot.
But I heard it got moved to Cable so they say...
Feels like a bunch of background stuff somehow found their way into the foreground with their own sound effects
