it'd be a bit lacking in variety, but i'd probably play my WD more if it were spiders all the way down. gargantuan spider, zombie spider dogs, and finally spiders in a jar.
I think I would like WD pets more if they were jungle animals instead of zombies. like garg is a gorilla or a huge ass snake or something.
Actual animals would be awesome. Undead are boring.
If you are reading this add me.

Witchdoctors that run full-fethish builds are so much fun!
Big Bad Voodoo, Fetish Army, the Fetish passive, Hex, and then Mana-free Toads so that you can have at least 5 or 6 fetishes up from the passive. Definitely no burst damage, but BOY is it fun It's kind of exactly what I think a WItch Doctor would be.
The zombie thing was always a  kind of thing for me, like what the heck do Witch Doctors have to do with zombies? And why zombie DOGS, for that matter, I don't really see Witch Doctors as dog-people, they're totally ferret-people.

Witch Doctors and zombies are connected wayyy back. Zombies are some voodoo shit.
Depends on your class. Grab a damage calculator and sim it out.
From the AH you can first click on the chatbox to bring it into focus, then shift click on an item in AH to link it in chat box. Press enter to send it to no one which will result in an error but the item will now be linked in your chatlog history.
You can now enter a game with your character and when you click the item link from in game it'll show damage/health/defense comparable stats.
So what I generally do is go into the AH looking for some new item and generate item links for a bunch of items that may or may not be upgrades first. Then enter a game and can click them all up to see how they compare to current gear. Another thing to keep in mind is that the comparisons stats are relative to current state. So you may want to go finds some mobs and activate all your normal buffs and ensure your normal passives are engaged first then checking item links to see how the gear really compares. In some cases gear that helps you unbuffed actually might be a downgrade once buffed and vice versa.

Aw see, I always saw the Witch Doctor as one of those ancient African types of witch doctors. The zombie lore comes specifically from Haiti-style voodoo. Yes I am nerdy enough to care about the difference :P

Finally sold off that DML that I got weeks ago, and picked up a middling Xephiran Amulet. My tooltip DPS dropped 14k but I've never been clearing faster.

I would totally be okay with Blizzard giving WD's items that change their pet theme, e.g. Dota 2 with Furion and Syllabear having items that change their pet look and feel.
Playing the game like it's an unofficial sequel to Sonic the Hedgehog is really fun, for me.

Which is whats important...it's just that style of play is everything I hate about Monk, and I don't want to hate anything about Monk, cause I love Monk.
But yeah...the entire class being this string of "press this buttan, watch things die" abilities wears on me. It's why I flirt with my WD a lot.
as long as it one shots things locust swarm with pestilence is so fast at killing, well, everything. you can clear those big rooms in keeps 2 in one cast
Some people think +% xp is a huge deal for higher monster powers, I don't. I'm level 79 paragon which is just past the halfway point for the xp required to hit level 100 paragon. I want the additional magic find & stats but I'm in no rush. I still am angry at Blizzard for making the monsters health increase so fast in higher monster powers. If they want to incentivize people to increase their monster power, reduce their damn health. They admitted it's not efficient to go very high in monster power, well that's stupid, that's what diablo is about. Diablo is all about getting loot as fast as possible >.<.
It's important to look at how fast you're gaining XP but in my opinion people should focus on getting loot as fast as possible and worry less about how fast they're gaining experience.
I just reinstalled Diablo 3. My character is level 34 is there anyone that I can play with?
Or am I destined to play by my laggy lonesome?
I'm thinking about playing some in the short future. IIRC I've got a couple characters around there, but I might not have time to play much this week, but I'll let you know here what's what when I get around to reinstalling too.

You also get the extra bonus item at higher MPs, plus Hellfire Ring mats. What they said is that the idea is for a given MP level to only become efficient when you're geared well enough to kill things there reasonably quickly. They don't want anyone to feel incentivized to grind away at unkillable MP10 monsters for an eternity, and they didn't want MP10 to eventually become trivial to godly characters, so they designed the reward structure to only make it worthwhile for the godliest of characters that can do it fast. They also wanted to make people who like speedrunning weak MP0 mobs to still be able to do that without giving up a ton of efficiency. Most respectable characters are best suited to playing somewhere in the middle.
The important thing to keep in mind is that runspeed is the bottleneck at lower MP levels. Say in one MP0 run you spend 2 minutes killing enemies and 10 minutes traversing the level. If you double mob HP(MP2), now you're spending 4 minutes killing enemies, and still 10 minutes traversing the level. That only actually increases your overall run time from 12 minutes to 14 minutes, a 16% increase. Double HP from that(MP4) and it's up to 18 minutes, still only 50% more time than MP0. That's why the rewards seem small relative to the HP increases.
so, if any of you who are somewhat in the know would take a gander at my WD, what do you think would be the most prudent upgrade path for me?
i know my gear is mostly low-end, but i can generally get through A3 on mp0. i need more CD and CHC, i'm looking really hard at 4 piece zuni, should i upgrade rings first? or look into zuni pices and like, vile ward and witching hour?
also, i think i'm going to go for a manajuma once i can save up a couple mil.
Are monks and barbs the best for trying to solo the uber bosses? My demon hunter can farm keys but I doubt she could handle the ubers at all, especially rak/ghom. Certainly not at an MP where organs are even remotely likely to drop.
I'm having wotlk-era wow flashbacks... that awkward point where your gear isn't good enough to get the upgrades that help make you good enough. I'm really hoping the new crafting plans help.
@noggin a CM/WW wizard can perma freeze them at a high enough gear level i think. if you can get your machines, you can easily get carried though for free. i think some carries do so with wiz/barb or monk. wiz keeps things frozen, barb/monk drop heavy damage.
not sure that DH or even WD could solo ubers at high MP.
Oh yeah, @Feldorn, I saw this video a few weeks ago. I don't totally agree with it on every item, but I think it's a really good place to start when looking for ideas on WD gearing. It also goes into prices a bit, so you can get an idea of how expensive it'd be to pursue upgrades in each slot.
Ok, I think I'll just try to get keys myself then, thanks. That's not so bad if I can make 3 machines and get carried =p
Try to find ubers groups, so you only have to use one machine of your own per run. It's much more economical than farming 3 machines and trying to solo everything.

Witch Doctors and zombies are connected wayyy back. Zombies are some voodoo shit.
Zombies originated as a Voodoo legend. Essentially people who's souls had been taken by a Witch Doctor, usually as payment for some debt.

Super Agree
No one had heard of a zombie game outside of zombies ate my neighbors, and maybe a resident evil or two when this game started development.
This amuses me.

Jump on a public game. I went from 35 to 45 in a single evening on my DH and had a blast.

If I can just find a way to quit running into Extra Health + Molten + Arcane + (anything) packs...

i feel like i'm survivable enough, if i keep my EHP flat, provided the game isn't stuttering while i'm fighting morters or molten and arcane.
