Matz. You are killing me. I haven't bought a real upgrade (cept that skorn which I am now trying to flip.) I'm trying to hoard more gold before I spend it, but it's not selling. GRAAAA.
Also, it's worth noting for the people in this thread that his "unbuffed" really means "with my two damage increasing dps passives" so it's not true unbuffed.
Being a barb is sexy.

To be fair I have never said unbuffed! And 300k dps is only with Battle Rage - which is a 30% damage buff that is on 100% of the time as long as you refresh it every 2 minutes... Brawler is situational so can't really count. Same with the rest like Frenzy, WoTB etc.
Good times though. Stuff is melting! Well, exploding in parts really.
What in the fucking fuck... Did anything happen to drop tables recently? It's like I'm goddamn lucky occasionally getting two blues and one yellow from elite packs, at five stacks and ~100% MF beyond that. Two blues or one yellow+one blue seem to be the standard since yesterday or the day before.
I log in to check an auction. receive 22m from a 30m stack back. 8m is in "processing" but never got an email. I know it's been mentioned, but I love how hit or miss the RMAH email system is.
I love how much a 180 this game has taken since launch. barbs OP. lmao.

From my experience, receiving a notification email that something sold seems to be an exception rather than the norm.
I get notifications for item sales but rarely for gold sales. Sold a 20m stack this morning but most of my sales lately have been from buying gear (mainly rings) on the gold market and cashing them out for blizzbucks.

Yeaaaaupp. Sold 2x Vile Ward (50mil/40mil) and 1x Nat's boots(15mil) yesterday:

You lost a couple dollars doing it that way didn't you? But I guess it sold so that's really what matters?
Yeah pretty much. Let's do some math:
Each Emerald is $1.08 -> 22.3mil gold
So about $.05 per mil gold
I bought the Nat's for 15mil so $.75, then sold them for 2.99 after the tax. That's a 4x more than purchase.
I bought one Vile for 45mil so $2.25, then sold them for 7.99 after the tax. That's about 3.5x more...
I bought the other for 50mil so$2.50, then sold them for 8.99 after the tax. That's about 3.5x more...
In the end I spent about $5.50 and ended up with $19.97, and items sell way more often then gold does for me.
Where as if I sold the gold it would be 110 x .25 = $27.5 - 15%($4.13) = $23.38, but sells very rarely.

Yeah I wasn't really criticizing just noticed the difference. But really the fact that it sold is what really matters. There's a bit more risk in buying items but not if you sell them quickly.

No, absolutely I agree. If the items I put up don't sell in the first 12 hours, I usually drop them by a dollar and put them up again until they sell. I don't think I've lost any money yet, but I broke even on maybe one item? So that one wasn't worth my time.
I'd also like to mention that I've been buying stuff that tailors to my character, so if the item doesn't sell I just take the monetary loss and equip it. My DH has some pretty shitty gear on her and could use the upgrades.
I remember being told that Vile Wards were shitty since the crafted shoulders could have a higher base stat.
It seems that I need to have words with that reddit thread...
The problem is that crafted shoulders are all random other than the guaranteed stat. Sure, if you hit the jackpot they're fantastic but Vile Wards have less random rolls which means overall they could end up better more easily.

Also, I didn't take into account the 15% for selling gems tax from Blizzard either. So I technically spent a little more than $5.50.

Also the thing were Barbs should roll VIT shoulders cause there are higher possible overall rolls is bogus as well cause the chance of those rolling is so minuscule compared to rolling a decent STR one.

Totally agree. I've made probably around 10 shoulders and haven't gotten a decent vit roll on any of them. The idea of getting strength along with the other stats you want is crazy. Considering the 75k crafting cost, I'll probably have spent more money in the end getting a perfect set of shoulders than just buying one. But it's a fun gamble so whatever.

Being that I barley play the actual game anymore, I don't really know items very well. I actually bought an eternal reign chest piece for like 50mil or so because I thought it had a perfect vit roll, high res, and a decently high str roll. I found out after that it had 100 vit because it used one of the +3 random magic properties and rolled vit, making it much less valuable than I thought it was.

Still trying to get rid of it, lol.
Yeah, this is why I've had no luck trying to move gold->cash via items as well.

That is an intimidating game to play. There are some general rules (pickup radius, trifecta, popular legendaries) but otherwise it's a crap shoot.
I find rings move pretty well although im usually just sniping stuff for cheap (500,000 to 10,000,000) and turning it into between .50 and 2.50. Im not going to break any sales records but in the last two weeks im up about 100 million in gold and am waiting on a stack to clear so I can flip another 5 gems or so which should put me at close to 200 mil in two weeks.

For some reason, this made me realize how much the definition of "cheap" has changed in this game, since release.

Yeah man, the introduction of $1 gems to 20+ millions of gold is really skewing the market. I'm sure there are other reasons, but my view of "cheap" has definitely changed because of the gem arbitrage.
koopah troopah i give you mad respect for the flips
it makes me want to do some flipping..
It's not that hard man. I just sold a Danetta's Revenge since my last post for $8.99 and I bought it for 29mil gold last night.
1) Look at the popular legendary/set items used list
2) Check pricing/common stats on RMAH
3) Look for cheap versions(<100mil) of the item with somewhat decent/comparable stats
4) Sell the item at $1-$2 less than your competition
5) If it doesn't sell in 12 hours, go a $1 lower and resale. Repeat until sold.
I guarantee you will make more money this way over just selling gold.

Demonic Tremor, on Inferno MP5 with Reflect Damage & Horde. I'm a bouncing Firebomb-built Witch Doctor. They weren't even on the screen and whenever they curled up into a ball, it took 0.1 seconds for my health to fucking plummet
I think I've finally developed a little respect for Reflect Damage now.
Ok - so the last 8-10 times in a row now when I have entered the shack to face the ubers - I have gotten exactly what I wanted. If I want Turmoil I go right (stand in the bone pile to the right and face right), If I want Chaos I got top (stand in the bone pile to the top and face top), If I want Discord I go left... A portal always opens on the side that I am on and it is always to the same destination. Not sure if this is a solo thing or related to the person opening the portal.
However it is starting to look less like random chance. I invite people to try it.
nothing crazy, bought for 99M and sold for $8 (so $7). which at current rates looks like about 120M after all is said and done.
not the kind of margin i was hoping for, but i'm also just getting an idea of what to flip. and, unlike gold, it actually fucking sold. i haven't seen a single gold sale in over a week.
edit: check that, misread the email...sold for $9, received $8. so more like 136M. it'll do.
