You bought an item for 99M gold and sold it for 7 dollars net? Isn't that a humongous loss?
8 dollars net, and no. we'll see how it goes when I actually buy the gems to cover, but as of this morning the best ratio was topaz, at just over 17M per dollar (after fees).
so 7 dollars winds up being 119M, and 8 dollars is 136M.
shitty profit, but profit. unless the prices have changed dramatically today. which is a real risk. grumble.
edit: if I can get a little blizzbalance built up, I won't have to worry as much about shifting gem prices. the potential multi-day lag is a killer, though.
yeah, gems have dropped like a rock. and they were already cheap.
EDIT: also sold my Prowlers that I bought a while back, but replaced with some decent rare bracers. paid 35M for the Prowlers, it didn't look like they were going to list for that (plus 15% off), but moved them for $3.50. $2.50 in gems equals like 40M. #winning
nothing crazy, bought for 99M and sold for $8 (so $7). which at current rates looks like about 120M after all is said and done.
not the kind of margin i was hoping for, but i'm also just getting an idea of what to flip. and, unlike gold, it actually fucking sold. i haven't seen a single gold sale in over a week.
edit: check that, misread the email...sold for $9, received $8. so more like 136M. it'll do.
One of us...one of us... Grats man. Been selling items left and right.
Bought a Zuni's Trail I'm trying to flip now. But also did like you, where this is a set I'd totally equip if it goes south. Paid about 50M, hoping to get like $5 for it (after the fee). Taking it slow, my bankroll has been slowly dwindling thanks to taking a little out to real cash, purchases for my wizard, paying a guy I owed some gold to, etc.
Still, I'm like 150M into some items, we'll see how this goes.
Congratulations on your successful auction in Diablo III!

My gold needs to sell itself already.
Thanks to Saint and Hoover for getting my Inferno campaign finally finished.

I have yet to finish inferno. I just tried Act 4 again with my new gear from the arbitrage and I can actually walk around without dying, I just don't really care anymore.
I'm just getting better gear for the promise that PVP arenas will eventually be added.

MP0 Inferno is kind of a joke now. You'd probably have little trouble beating it.
But there's little reason to. Only reason to go into Act 4 as of now is for the cheevos and to grab the plan for Infernal Machines. Or because you hate yourself.
I am having so much luck selling gold. Every two days I put up 10 stacks of gold. This morning i made 400m gold because I sold 163m gold and I get around 3.6X the amount of gold relative to the amount I'm selling for the money I'm receiving from selling the gold. After covering costs I get 2.6 million gold for every million gold I sell. Two days ago I woke up and I made 500m gold! I am so lucky. I have around 3.3 billion gold. 50 days ago I had around 100m gold. I haven't farmed in over 2 months, I just log in every 2 days and sell stacks of gold. Usually I am not this lucky.

This sounds like some kind of MLM scheme on Facebook.
Also, step the fuck off my corner, son.
In seriousness, congrats on the luck. I've had none. /grumble

For gold selling, does it matter the size of the stack? Ie- does it try and match to your entire listing size, or does it just whittle your stack down if people just buy portions of it at a time?

The assumption we're running under:
When a buyer places an order for gold, it's prioritized first by price (all the same, obviously), then by first listed (which will also mean soonest ending). So if I go to buy 100M gold, and your stack is the next to end, and it's a 10M stack, I'll buy 10M of yours and 90M off the next guy(s). If I go to buy 10M, and you're selling 100M, I'll buy 10M of yours (and you may get 90M back if nobody else is buying).
Now, as far as stack size what this means is you want the largest possible stack while still maintaining as many stacks as possible. Which is ten, obviously. Because you want your gold ending as often as possible (more chances to sell), but you also want as much available in case a whale comes along (or a lot of buyers at once). Because the only thing worse than having only 3M of a 100M stack sell is having the whole 100M stack sell and then being forced to wonder....how much more could I have sold?

The ideal sale is therefore 99M out of a 100M stack.... Knowing that you listed pretty much the right amount coupled with the certainty that you couldn't have sold more...
I had 50M just go out now but otherwise has been pretty lean.
Finally had something sell after all this time. Not exciting like you guys, but I bought an Eternal Union for 52k, wore it for a while, then flipped it for 1.9 million. Not bad.

Is there any way to search by skill classes on items? Looking for an amulet for my DH but there's a flood of every other class for Mara's.

Had fun playing with you guys this weekend, Hoover, Caretta, Rolo, Aegis, etc. Ubers were slain, good times were had. I'm so close to plvl 60 I can taste it!

Ah, he said "with the skill bonus you'd like" but I may have misunderstood.
Just sounds like kt was looking for DH specific skills, and finding that though general searches is a pain. But agreed, just pop in the other stats you're looking for then skim til you find the skill bonus you want.

Those Ubers were fun. Except Siege/Kulle. Fuck reflect damage.

It's not about the gold made, it's about the profit %. And that's a big one.

I was super stoked when the Chantodo's set I won on bids for like 24k (12k each) went for like 5M combined.

edit: Nevermind, I realized you're factoring in re-converting the blizz bucks through gems. Also gems are hella cheap, good lord.

I bought 13 rubies today, they're like 91 cents or something crazy.
Sold another 20M too.

80m, +17k damage (woo)
30m
I also saw a sweet 1-hander for 25m that I should have snatched up because I saw it relisted later for 99m.

I want to know if I could have sold a billion.

don't actually search for mara's as an item
instead search for general armor with the skill bonus you'd like, then add +str +dex +int +vit +res all, which will filter it down for you
You can't search for skill bonus on amulets.
that's why you search for general armor, as @rolo said
course, there's a lot of skill bonuses that you just can't search for
Just sounds like kt was looking for DH specific skills, and finding that though general searches is a pain. But agreed, just pop in the other stats you're looking for then skim til you find the skill bonus you want.
Then find out it costs eleventy billion gold.
