PAX East 2013 Vita Meet-up - Sunday 3/24/13 @ 1:00pm
Meet up for any and all Vita players! Have a Vita? Come! Know someone with a Vita? Bring them! See someone you don't know with a Vita? Make friends and bring them! Any and all Vita gamers and games welcome. Possibly having mini tournaments if enough people show up with the same games (likely PS: All Stars, uMvC or Sonic Racing). Come on in and make friends and have fun with your favorite Sony Handheld! We'll meet right next to HH in the SE corner hallway on level 1(street level).
PS Online handle: MikeRosenberg - Add me...Maybe we'll play together ahead of meet-up

Thanks again to
@Scoots for helping to make both the Vita Tournament and the meet-up possible.
Can't wait. Just over 17 days

Wondering how many forum-goers are owners and players of the Sony PS-VITA!!!?!?!?
Along with that checking to see what games people plan to bring to play, and even what games are worth playing. Maybe if there's enough people we can do some kind of Vita Players meetup for meet and plays or something along the line.
List of games I have currently:
~WipEout 2048
~Uncharted: Golden Abyss
~Dungeon Hunter: Alliance
~Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational
~Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3
~Playstation All Stars: Battle Royale
Hopfully I'll get around to getting a fps for it at somepoint
What are the rest of you playing?
1/16/13 update:
Their is apparently a Vita "Wake Up Club" app in which the vita automatically wakes and connects players who set the same time. As we get closer to PAX we will decide on a time and day and may see how many PAX forum-goers and vita players are connected!!
Along with this if we have many people interested we may form a Vita meetup in which anyone with a Vita can come, chill, meet new people, and play Vita together. This should also be a great time if people are interested in doing so. Obviously we can discuss what games in this thread!
1/28/13 update:
It's currently looking like we will be planning a vita meet-up/get together and tournament. Within the next few days I'll send out a PM to
@Scoots to begin working on more specifics. Still waiting to hear if I'm accepted as an enforcer so depending on that, my schedule is subject to change but I think based on everyone's responses here we can sort out a date and time. As of now it seems that the main games being played and considered for tournaments are:
~Playstation All Stars Battle Royale
~Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3
~Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed
Again depending on player input, Resistance and Silent Hill and other titles are also subject to be added to the major list. I'll keep updating as it continues to get closer

There is this weird "wake up club" app coming to the Vita soon:
http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/01/10/start-your-morning-with-wake-up-club-for-ps-vita-next-week/
At the time, this struck me as odd and a bit pointless, but with Pax coming up, it might have interesting uses. I bet if we picked an non-standard time (say, 8:37 a.m. Saturday morning of Pax), we would probably get "randomly" selected as a wake up club. Might be fun to try and see how many Pax Forumers get grouped together.
Also, I have heard great things about Sonic racing, and that definitely has multiplayer. In any event, it might just be fun to meet other Vita owners, since there are so few of us. I really enjoy my Vita, but there are not too many people around with whom I can share my enthusiasm.
Persona 4 Golden(obviously)
Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward
Lumines: Electronic Symphony
Smart As(yeah, I'm one of those brain game dorks)
and I've downloaded:
Resident Evil 2 and 3
Patapon
Loco Roco
The Warriors
Puzzle Quest
GTA: Liberty City Stories
Final Fantasy Tactics
and I plan on getting in the very near future:
LittleBigPlanet
Dokuro
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection
Rayman Origins
Sound Shapes
Needless to say, I'll have my Vita with me at Pax East, and I'll be looking for other players.
-some British comedy troupe
I have:

jet set radio
uncharted golden abyss
final fantasy tactics

so i will have my vita at the ready and be looking for people to play with.

Has anyone played one of the vita fps games (Resistance or CoD)? I want a fps on the go but both got pretty lousy reviews.
Also informing Vita fans Amazon lowered the price for Sly Cooper Thieves in Time PS3 (with Vita version) to $39.99 while the vita alone version is $29.99. For those interested may be worth pre-ordering. I don't believe it has plans to have online though

Also just found found for apparently the next six weeks, each week Sony will be making one Playstation mobile app/game free. This week is Samurai Beatdown. Go download it for free now

I think I'll add something about this to the original post. This could be a really interesting idea. Not too sure how well it'll work out but could be really neat. Looks like there are definitely gonna be more vita players then last year, as I don't remember seeing anyone other than myself with one. I think as it gets closer if more people keep popping up with vita's maybe we'll form a meetup or tournament to create some more fun for all vita fans. If we do decide to form a meetup or something we'll plan it slightly closer to the event.
Sonic Racing is another game I too want to pick up, it looks like it is a lot of fun and surely has multiplayer. Has anyone played any of Resistance or Call Of Duty? Those are the two fps games I know of on the platform but have yet to pick either up or play them.
Also just thought I'd inform folks Amazon seems to have the upcoming Sly Cooper game "Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time" on sale for $39.99 for the PS3 copy which includes the PSVita version as well as $29.99 for the vita version alone. I don't believe the game supports online play however

To download Samurai Beatdown, go to the playstation store on your vita, go to Playstaion Mobile at the top--it's under music/rythm games. I noticed that lemmings in free also, not sure if this is limited or an all-the-time thing.
I enjoyed Resistence: Burning Skies. It's very linear, but no more than all the COD games. Graphics are nice, cut scenes that do not use the game engine are horrible. Most important for me--game play and controls are fluid and excellent, there is a great variety of weapons and ways to dispatch the enemy, and shortage of ammo requires thoughtful and creative strategy. Overall, I thought it was a really fun game. Given the good controls and fluid FPS, I think it would make a fine multiplayer experience, though I have never tested this.

I wish a third party card would come out that's cheaper. I need to buy the 32gb but I don't want to pay $100 for it. The cheapest I've seen it for lately is $80.

Would love to play some Hot Shots Golf, Need for Speed or Hustle Kings.
Put it in your ear holes.
Only off the top of my head, since I forgot it at my friend's house last weekend:
Uncharted: Golden Abyss
Wipeout: 2048
Playstation All Stars: Battle Royale
Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3
Sound Shapes
Zen Pinball
PulzAR
Super Stardust Delta
Aaaand... a few PSP titles for single-player goodness (Metal Gear Solid, Peggle, Lunar: Silver Star Harmony)
Switch FC: SW-7588-7027-0113, Steam/PSN: Halfazedninja
MK??
If I can find a cheap copy online I think I may pick it up. Sounds like it could be a fun time. Especially if it's got a solid multiplayer experience.

maybe we should all just pic one game to make sure we have. that way no one will be left not knowing what to get.
I would say to focus on the most popular here. UMvC, Sonic Racing, Playstation All Stars and maybe Mortal Kombat?
Switch FC: SW-7588-7027-0113, Steam/PSN: Halfazedninja
Those sound good. Especially PS:All Stars and Sonic Racing (which I still have to pick up). UMvC and Mortal Kombat are also great games for a meetup but I think for anyone who doesn't own any of the above should stick with PS Allstars. IMO it's the funnest fighting game especially if we're going to have contests. I'm still thinking of picking up a shooter as well like Resistance, but if no one else has or wants we can exclude it from the meet up
