If you had to assume, would you think you'd be able to load any work from PS3 to PS4?
If not, my little brother also has a 360 so if I bought for Xbox I could always send his way when I inevitably had to buy it for PS4.
I was a bit disappointed with the amount of Lone Ranger content. For $30, it only had two areas. Then again, I might be missing out on a whole lot because I have the Wii version.
So apparently the frozen 2 pack with the power discs will be coming out in November when the series 2 power discs release. GameStop is doing preorders on them now.
I jumped in.
Wanted the Violet figure, but it was out of stock everywhere I went. So I just bought a few of the power disk packs.
Did I get anything good? :P
So we've done a bunch of missions in MU, although definitely not all but now the mission markers won't appear and there's nothing about the story mission anywhere. Any idea how to fix this?
I went to Times Square to see if they had Crystal Lightning McQueen, no dice but they had literally hundreds of the other characters. I just ordered him online -http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=23640116 I'm going to collect the figures for now and eventually buy the game. 2 for $20 good on the website.
I think we're buying this today on the Wii u for my son's birthday. God help us. We managed to avoid skylanders but the toy box makes this too tempting for a Minecraft obsessed kid.

check the other areas, that playset is pretty bad at giving direction and odds are you have a mission in frat-row or the other school

So how is this as a game? I've got 2-3 hours here to use that TRU coupon... and I've been watching this for a while.. but is the game, the actual game, worth it?
I have yet to see any TRU power discs. Both stores here just never have any on the shelves.
They're incredibly insanely hard to get. The day the game came out I was at the store at opening. They were almost gone 20 minutes after opening. Today, I went in to see if they had the Tron one. They said it was sold out 45 minutes after they took them out to sell. So yeah. Good luck. Only way now is to spend dumbass amounts of money on them. Really sucks man.

So. My son and daughter and I are having a blast playing through The Incredibles' set, especially now that we have all the figures. It's also fun to go into the toybox and be Syndrome while they team up to try and stop me.
Only extraneous figures I've bought are the two three-packs. I haven't quite gotten to the singles-exclusives ones.
I'm still not 100% sure if that "Girl Power Pack" is legitimate or just a fan mockup, and that's one of the big reasons I haven't bothered with buying Violet yet.

I got to my Toys R Us around 9:20 this morning. Another customer told me that they had the discs behind the counter until the event, and I could just ask to buy one. (Which I did...I bought two actually.)

It's largely dependent on your tolerance for kids-oriented games. Do you like the Lego games and good movie-based games? (I.E. Toy Story 3, etc.) You'll probably like the playsets then.
If you're looking for something deeper than that though...yeah you're probably best looking elsewhere.
Are power discs a limited thing or necessary to get? The Toys R Us I went to had a giant bin of the exclusive ones...
Here's the deal on power discs:
Power Discs come in three flavors: Hexagonal-shaped "Gadget" discs, Hexagonal-shaped "Theme" discs, and Circular "Power-Up" discs.
"Gadgets" discs are generally weapons or vehicles. Items like "Stitch's Blaster" or "Carl Fredricksen's" cane are weapons, and then you've got vehicles such as "Cinderella's Coach", and "Mickey's Car, which are drivable by any character. (Outside of the "Cars" characters)
"Theme" discs add themes to the toy box that you're in. They generally come in two types, a "sky" disc, and a "texture" disc. Sky discs change the skybox and music to a certain theme, such as "Rapunzel's Birthday Sky" or "Nemo's Seascape". Then you've got corresponding discs, such as "Rapunzel's Kingdom" and "Marlin's Reef", which change ground textures, the models for vegetation, and other flair to match that theme.
Hex discs, whether they're gadgets or themes, only work within "Toy Box" mode. They don't work in playsets.
Then you've got Circular discs. These offer power-ups to your character, and they can be stacked up to two high under a figure. Stuff like increased experience gain and increased money pickup, these are fairly easy to explain and understand.
The Power Discs come packaged in blind bags, like trading cards back in the day, (And current collectibles like Vinylmation and the Kid Robot figures.) so when you buy discs you have no idea which two you're getting. This is to encourage trading, of course, but I've seen morons the world over complain about the blind bag process.
In addition, there are three "rare" discs in series 1, which are, of course, rarer than the rest of the discs. (I think the ratio is 8:1, but don't quote me on that.)
There will be three series of Power Discs. We're still on Series 1 right now. Series 2 is dropping in late November, and Series 3 will likely be early next year.
Toys R Us has a line of exclusive Power Discs. Only 10 have been announced, and only two have been released thus far, which the Tron disc from Saturday being #2. There's been no confirmation one way or the other, but these are likely discs that will be showing up in later series, but in exclusive "rare" color schemes.
For example Mike's car will likely show up in series 2 or 3, but without the orange border (which designates it as a rare) and the Tron disc will likely be the same, but without the red border. What's interesting to note is that the discs themselves don't show up in-game as being rare, so it's strictly a cosmetic thing.
So in the end, is it a necessary thing? No, not really I guess. If you want the vehicles, themes, weapons, or stat boosts that the disc offers, you'll want to try to track 'em down, but I'm personally collecting them just to collect them.
If you want the Tron disc without having to pay ridiculous amounts of money to get it, I'd grab one now, otherwise you've got at least two months for the series one packs to be on shelves before they start getting replaced by series two packs.
I think that 8:1 is right. I thought I read someone reading about opening a whole box of discs, which I'm pretty sure is 24 packs, and they got 1 of each rare.
Also, although the packs are blind, there are a couple of tricks for seeing what's in them. You can feel the shape of the discs, to see if there's a round disc in the pack (I think the only options are 2 hex or 1 of each). You can also check to see if there's a rare disc in the pack by lighting scratching and noting if the surface of the disc is smooth (not rare) or rough (rare). Oh, or you can just throw the packs on the store's display portal, since I've heard that it can read through the packaging.

That would be way too convenient if the in store portal told you the power disc.
What people should do is buy a separate 3ds version of the game with the wireless portal and go into a store and check the packages, then take the ones you want home for your full version of the game.

I think they'd notice you carrying around a 3DS + the portal :P

well you can hide the portal under your clothes, wire out attached to the DS. Then they won't see you doing anything shady like putting packs on a portal. They'll just see you rubbing packs against your body with a satisfied grin.

Does this work? I haven't tried but every display I've seen just has a trailer for the game running, so I'm not sure how you'd know.
Supposedly some stores actually have a functioning playable display, in which case that trick would work.
But all the displays I've seen are just attract video loops.

I kind of thought all the displays would be like Skylanders...with a working portal to showcase the characters with.
The "portal' is active, and pulls up the appropriate video when you drop a character on the base.
The issue is that dropping a power disc pack onto the base just pulls up a generic "power discs!" video.

Well that tells you that you've got a rare disc...but not which one it is.
