I mean DMC4 is a damn good game, but Bayonetta is to DMC4 as DMC3 was to Ninja Gaiden. One was the best Devil May Cry ever by a mile, and Ninja Gaiden is THE GREATEST ACTION GAME OF ALL TIME.

In my opionion Bayonetta and Ninja Gaiden:Black stand as complete flawless action game perfection, and in the top 10 for my personal greatest games of all time.

I can't find this one guy who posted these amazing videos of various people playing. It was japanese and etc. One had a video of playing the motorbike section on non stop infinite climax against white gracious and glorious and he just stayed in the air the whole time. I stopped subscribing at one point for some reason and now he's lost in the youtube ether.

He had another video where he was doing absolutely crazy shit with simultaneous wicked weaves using some kind of buffering thing. He was getting three coming out at once all on the same creature. I think I posted them in the bayonetta thread I'll have to go back and trawl through it.

edit: wait a minute it's a wii u exclusive? I have to buy a wii u? Fuck. Nintendo are the biggest price gougers in australia. They never put anything on special. I seriously never bought any official nintendo games for the ds because they refused to lower them past the rip off point. Dammit did they have to pick the most "asshole in australia" company?

I originally wrote off Bayonetta as a standard action game with over-sexualized heroine. Oh, and I also don't have a 360, so I tend to write off any game for hardware I don't possess. But apparently Bayonetta played it in a way that is endearing as fuck or something, because I cannot find anyone that hates this game.

I remember seeing the trailers. She has high-heels, which is a goddamn pet peeve of man in games, but the heels are guns.

I really hated the demo so I had initially written the game off. After the announcement of Bayonetta 2 I decided it was worth picking up (for cheaps) to see what all the fuss was about. I am now super, super excited for Bayonetta 2. The game is really fantastic and I think it's less about being over-sexualized than just hilariously over-the-top and absurd (which I love).

If you get a chance you should definitely check it out. Do you really not own either a 360 or PS3?

Edit: Honestly, the demo for Bayonetta was just terrible. Why did they not include the very first level? This is a fantastic tutorial and intro for the game. I had no damn idea what was going on in the demo when I played it. The first level sets up all the important story points for you and a lot of the humor, fighting, etc.

but because she gets absolute control and agency over everything they manage to play her as sexually intimidating rather than sexually available (this is even deliberately played up in the game, as they add in a handsome male love-interest style character then have her walk all over him)

there are still a lot of embarrassing crotch shots though. its a thin line
