Don't overreact about my Viewtiful Joe comment. The game is stylish, was fun to play, looked and sounded great. I am glad it exists.

I just didn't play it much. It didn't grab me. I own the ps2 version and I still haven't finished it.

Which I am actually attributing more to its 2d levels than anything else. 2d very rarely grabs me like 3d games do.

17+, to me, means "Hey, this is an M rated game and we don't want to be perceived as marketing it to children." Because that's how corporations think.

I really don't agree with what the guy is saying, but without the full game it's hard to make that judgement. I love the mechanic changes that I saw in the demo, and I don't see why they'd make the game more structured.

Then again, I didn't know Taunt Offset was a thing, and I struggled with getting PPs in Bayonetta on Hard(due to refusing to spam PKPs, Durga glitches, or charged Pillowtalks,) so I'm no genius. Pretty sure the game is going to be way more flexible than they're making it out to be, though.

I think a lot of action game players can easily get trapped into "the way" to play a game and as such feel like that is the only way it can be or should be played. I actually think its more likely to happen to people who have played a lot of action games because they are used to analysing games so when there is a clear pattern they latch onto it really hard.

It's early times yet and nobody has the experience yet to really know everything about the game. We will be learning things for years.

I bet the way people think about Bayo 2 will be completely different in 2 years.

That's why I'm only slightly worried.

After all, if anyone can make this work for me its them. Godhand is arguably a restrictive and structured experience and that's still my number 1 favorite action game.

Maybe it's OK that there are different games for different markets. Not everything has to be made in one aesthetic. Maybe games like GTA, Binding of Issac, Resident Evil, Dark Soul's etc. really do benefit from a "mature" aesthetic.

Hmm... I'm pretty sure I'm going to put off getting this for a month or two - there's just so much stuff coming out and it'll be just as good in January when the releases start slowing down.

Nintendo are really pushing that whole index finger on the z buttons aren't they.

Also I asked about wonder 101.

They have it.

For 79. New.

Nintendo does not do price drops in Australia.

It's $79.95 on the eShop too. Generally retail is cheaper than digital. Most big name Wii U games can be found at $59 or $69AU

Morninglord, have you tried importing UK copies before? Ozgameshop have it at $42.99. The downside is it usually takes 2-3 weeks to arrive.

I just played the demo for this and I gotta say, I am pumped. The Nintendo Direct turned me right off with the "hurr durr she's sexay!" but the demo gameplay turned me right back on again. Gotta go get a $35 eShop card today.

Tried out the pro controller on bayo.

70k on the first verse.

Found out something new again.

360% punch has a little windup period before she fires her guns. She draws a little witch diagram in the air. If you press the punch button at the exact point this diagram finishes the effect of the guns change. The sound is harsher, like multiple shots at once, the firing effect is bigger and whiter, and any little enemies hit by it go flying.
First time I did it accidentally I was thinking "I'll shoot these taunted guys a bit before they get to me." and then she blew all of them off the plane one by one in less than a second.

You can hold the whip feet to grab and slam an enemy in the middle of a combo.

Like ppkp. Hold the k, she grabs and slams, then press P she continues the combo and does the uppercut weave.

I spent like 3 demo playthroughs just experimenting with those. Whip Feet are love. Whip feet are life.
