Are people in this thread saying the original Bayonetta is better than NINJA GAIDEN BLACK?
Because that is a bold claim.
They're different animals. Bayonetta doesn't feel like Ninja Gaiden Black unless you play on Non-Stop Infinite Climax mode, which turns off Witch Time.
NGB definitely has a stronger difficulty gradient and more incentive to play on Hard, Very Hard, and Master Ninja.
Bayonetta definitely has more style.
I wouldn't want to choose between them. Those two games and God Hand are the best games of their type.
In the genre of over-the-top 3D action games there are a few Gold Standards.
Devil May Cry - the grandaddy of them all
Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition - the pinnacle of that series
God of War - the most brutal and visceral (also the worst protagonist in history IMHO)
Ninja Gaiden: Black - the most ninja-tastic and difficult
Bayonetta blows them all away. It's literally the Platinum standard.
Of course there's other stuff too. Wannabes like Too Human and Heavenly Sword, there's the Suda 51 stuff (No More Heroes, Lollipop Chainsaw) which make up for their jankiness with how clever they are, there's the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Revengeance which looks like a contender.
But, end of the day, nothing does it better than Bayonetta.

I don't remember God showing up in Bayonetta. Or possibly I'd starting skipping cut scenes by then.
Not only does God show up, she shows up and starts throwing whole dang galaxies at you! And then its like "WTF, God?...." and then *WHAM!* you punch her into the sun.

So I haven't played the game in a while, and thought I might as well.
But something about this thread made me go out and buy the game again. It's not like my disk doesn't work ... just that, well I haven't played it on the PS3, so might as well buy the game again (third time?) on that platform. Because, you know ... this thread is the worst.
So I get home, it's Friday so I might as well start listening to my soundcloud stream. Some good stuff there, some awful tunes, but I distract my self with CoD XPx2 weekend ... which quickly gets boing, so I go grab my newly purchased game, listening to some bad dj-set *) by some "dj nick"(?) ... as I stand there, disk in hand, this nick fella starts mixing in La Roux "Going in for the kill" ... I try to get my defenses up in time, but it's to late ... the memories, they come a rushing back ... this game is the best.
*) but crowd-pleaser/catering ... which is prolly why I didn't simply skip forward ... sprinkle some French house in my ears and I'll keep listening apparently.

A similar situation would be Mass Effect 1, which was published by Microsoft Game Studios and exclusive to Xbox360/PC for a long ass time. I think eventually BioWare/EA bought the rights back or something so they could do Mass Effect Trilogy on PS3. But otherwise PS3 had to use that dumb comic for a long time to make their ME1 choices.

The difference between Bayonetta and Mass Effect is that Mass Effect actually generated a profit so getting the rights back and going multiplatform was a feasible option.
Bayonetta 2 already got cancelled and it's only because Nintendo needs themselves some hardcore exclusives that it's getting made to completion.

Lookit the release date on Bayonetta 2! Its probably not correct, but it could be in the ballpark. Injustice is listed as April 1st, and that game is slated for April 16th.
Edit: Seeing as May 12th is a Sunday, that most likely is not correct. Still, possible Bayonetta 2 release earlier than I had hoped!

Bazillions are how I beat her in non stop infinite climax.

I stopped playing through the game proper though cos of the fps problems on ps3. Really sucks but it got to me. There aren't any fps problems in angel slayer so that's all I play now. I do occasionally go and do a boss fight tho.
I haven't even unlocked Jeanne. I don't really have any interest. I think I only have one more stage to platinum.

I actually contemplated buying an xbox360 just for bayonetta. And I probably will one day. I bought a new ps2 just to play godhand before the hd remake came out. My old one broke and after a few months I snapped cos I couldn't handle not being able to play it whenever I got the urge to punch some faces. I'd already beaten the game to death by that point, done everything. I just needed to be able to punch some more.
If Angel Slayer wasn't such an awesome cross section of all the enemies you normally fight I would probably have a 360 by now.

The New Super Mario games have been huge successes but you don't see them games on the Xbox or the PlayStation.

like what? i didn't finish reading the book and I never memorised all the boss strategy since i was mostly playing angel slayer at that point
