I generally have pretty decent luck with craps. Out of my 6 trips there and countless ones to Native casinos here in NY I'm reasonably sure I'm in the black.
Speaking of craps and not remembering how I got to my room - funny story;
We were staying at PH and the Cosmo had just opened. We were over there getting murdered at blackjack, but so soused we barely knew it. The 3 of us simultaneously sobered up from our drunken haze just long enough to realize that it was our first night, we'd dropped a metric shit-ton of money, we'd been up for over 24 hours, and we needed to get the fuck out of dodge.
We went back to PH and even though I really needed to get back to my room, I was lost and pissed that I dropped so much already. Found a craps table, played for a bit and probably won back a few hundo. I could barely stand though and the dealers (very nicely) suggested that I go get some sleep. I agreed, tipped them and started to walk back to my room.
Instead, I managed to circumnavigate the table and walk right back up to my previous spot and tried to place a bet. I recall the crew chuckling, and a security guy smiling and just saying "Sir? Bedtime maybe?"
I'm still not sure how I found my room, but it was about 4 in the morning. Apparently I'd fallen asleep standing against my door. My wife heard some rustling, went to see what it was, saw me through the peephole and opened the door thinking I'd lost my key. Unfortunately, because I was passed out, when she opened it, I did a complete deadfall faceplant, messing up my glasses in the process.
3 hours later I was having a vodka soda with my breakfast, and by 8:30 I was on a hot table at O'Sheas.
It takes me about a week to recover from that damn town, and I love every minute of it.
When we go, it's usually Circus Circus 'cause the kids LOVE it even though we own a timeshare at Jockey Club (standing in the shadow of Cosmopolitan). When the kids are asleep, the wife and I usually hit Harrahs, Flamingo, and Bills Gambling Hall (we skip Imperial Palace), which I just found out has closed this week for renovations.
However, when I'm in town for Black Hat/Defcon, it's all about Rio.
