Man the Stalker looks so much scarier in that picture, until you get in came and it's the size of a Catapult.
Part of the reason is because the Catapult is kind of ginormous. Comparing cockpits with the other 'Mechs, the Catapult's cockpit should be the size of my living room.

Cockpit size isn't particularly consistent. The Atlas has the smallest cockpit in the entire game.

How else are we supposed to fit the lazy-boy recliner in there? Gots to stretch out and put my feets up while I'm hitting the LRM button from the other side of the battle field.

With the Catapult, it's not just the height, either. It's almost as bulky as a Stalker, to the point that at a distance I sometimes confuse nubby K2s with Stalkers.

The easy way to tell is to look at the legs.
Also if it can actually turn it's torso and look at you? It's not a stalker

I don't know if this got seen since I posted it in the middle of the night, but concerning the Oosik Mechlab:
I forgot to ask, are there any plans on showing how much ammo is in each ton of ammo? I know you show it when you look at the weapon, but it'd also be useful if you could see it when looking at just the ammo instead of having to switch back to the weapon to check.
Oh, and in the Trebuchet 5N, there's an erroneous missile slot in the left torso.

What I just learned which my xlsx doesn't reflect.
Engine SHS - Add 1 to the total heat capacity and 0.10 heat dissipation per second
Loadout SHS - Add 1 to the total heat capacity and 0.10 heat dissipation per second
Engine DHS - Add 2 to the total heat capacity and 0.20 heat dissipation per second
Loadout DHS - Add 1.40 to the total heat capacity and 0.14 heat dissipation per second

Capt. Obvious Conclusion - Always carry DHS.
Usually. Need to keep critical slots in mind and the extra cooling you can get from having heat sinks in your legs in water. Granted, that's luck of the map draw

I did miss this. Tonnage for the ammo will be coming as we put in all the item stats. And I'll fix the Treb.

I do not think the amount of cooling you get for the 4 sinks that can be in water comes close to outweighing the benefits you get from having DHSs.
Also, to actually make the crits vs. dissipation thing go in favor of SHSs, you need to not have ES or FF and have incredibly little firepower.
It's pretty much never a winning proposition to use SHSs.\

I think it might be a good idea to tweak heatsinks in general and make SHS/DHS a choice similar to Endo Steel. As you say, there's literally no reason to ever use SHS in 99.9% of all builds. Most builds have between 12-16 total DHS, and the most you can viably manage is maybe 20. To hit even the equivalent of 16 DHS dissipation, you'd need 28 SHS. That "tipping point" of 20 DHS where most people run out criticals and singles can shine, you'd need 34 SHS.
Adding in the heat capacity effect of the "free" heatsinks that come in engines 250 and larger, there is literally never a scenario where SHS is a viable option outside of cost. I wouldn't mind some variability.

That's not strictly true. The Awesome 8Q 7 medium laser all alpha all the time can have up to 36 single heat sinks. There is no way to get comparable heat dissipation out of DHS. Admittedly that is an edge case though, and as a general rule, you should use DHS.
Add endo-steel, upgrade to 260 STD, Ninth laser, max armour on legs, profit.
(if you want to keep the same heat, just don't fire the head laser unless its an alpha strike or something).
I don't think tonnage has anything to do with their choices, other than not repeating same the class. They seem to be avoiding chassis that have founders'.
I am now going to implement my newly discovered psychic abilities and predict the next hero mech...
At first, I was thinking Stalker, but Raven is actually a much, much more logical choice.

and the Raven's quirk will be that it launches 200 m straight up and explodes when you install ECM
just ran a couple quick matches in the 4SP. its so fun. popped in a standard 250 in place of the xl255 i had in there. its a TON more durable. had to lose quite a few heatsinks in the process, but its still good.
i cant get into the candymancer teamspeak (Just throws up a connection error every time I try.), and there is nobody in Kash's server, but im in there hanging out, waiting for others. It's entirely possible that i am doing the teamspeak thing wrong though too, i've never used teamspeak in my life so yeah
I just get this every time:
"<17:42:45> Trying to resolve hostname tungsten.typefrag.com
<17:42:49> Trying to connect to server on tungsten.typefrag.com:8761
<17:42:56> Failed to connect to server"

I'm going to call the Spider as the next hero mech. It seems (to me, at least) that the Hero mech selections have more to do with what's not in common use within the class. Although that does, admittedly, ignore both the Yen-Lo-Wang (explainable because it was the first, and the only truly canonical one) and the Ilya (which came out pretty much alongside the Cataphract roll-out, I believe).
Although if PGI follows their Light/Medium/Heavy/Assault monthly rotation for new chassis, that would give us an Assault in April, which would probably be the Highlander, yes? Rhonda Snord's Highlander seems like such an obvious Hero mech to launch simultaneously with that.

I don't see anything wrong with the MWO scale personally.
That being said I wouldn't care if they went to the suggested scale either.
I mean for example the Stalker/catapult comparison. The stalker has much thicker legs and a longer/wider torso despite a similar shape.

No, no, Jenner. The other right. Thank you.
Really, I'd like to see the same scale but with mech profiles, instead of just straight on silhouettes.
Also, I took Petra's drawn charts from yesterday and MS Excel'd them. Anyone want them emailed for vetting, please PM me.
I took two scenarios.
4x Medium Lasers - Firing in Block (all at once)
4x Medium Lasers - Chain Firing (as soon as one is done, the other shoots)
Both have SHS and DHS values (assuming 10 sinks for each). Total heat capacity for each type are 40 and 50 respectively (number of HS + base 30).
Results are expected.
