i have no idea, but i think in some cases, fictional characters/fandom characters are people's "multiples"... So i'm thinking it might just be... y'know, make-believe mental illness to attract attention/belong to a group.
Well, yeah. But I mean, for the most part, those are consistent. People are attracted to being demisexual even though that applies to huge swaths of the population and isn't considered strange at all for the most part. It's always a little jarring when the rules within a thing aren't even consistent.

well, i am around in chat an incredible amount so if it's happened then it is more than just 'not the norm'- it's incredibly anomalous, i'd say.
