Internships

So I'm in need of some kind of summer plans. I'm a college student in my junior year right now, currently abroad in London. What i'm hoping for is some kind of internship opportunity in the Boston or Providence area, preferably in publishing or with a literary agency. What internship-locating methods have you guys had luck with? I've been cruising Google for a while, found a few leads (the Atlantic intern list, bookjobs.com, a few others) but only one or two possibilities that i have a shot at, and considering the competition I should really play the odds. Any ideas, reliable databases?

Have you tried contacting your college's journalism or literature department? You know, they pay people to contact and arrange internships for college students.

Definitely contact the appropriate people within your school. Not only will they help you find an internship, they may also be required since some internships (particularly unpaid ones) require you to receive school credit. I know the application at one place I applied to required both my advisor's name and contact info as well as the director of the internship program. So it's best to get all of that out of the way, just in case.
