The click to move system is the reason I couldn't really get into Guild Wars.

I thought everyone just turned click to move off and played with the keyboard.

Wait, what? Click to move is the only way to kite backwards while keeping your camera pointing forwards. If you backpedal you move at a much slower rate. Same as strafing sideways, it's slower. Unless you're worried that a Dervish is going to go nuts with critical hits if you kite away from him, you should be using mouse movement.

There's a very small number of players in the game that use keyboard control exclusively to move-the only one that I think does might be Custodian, and I think he still selects targets with mouse. And there's a lot of people who move exclusively with mouse. I know Soul Wedding's setup was mouse only movement, and a ton of people emulated him.

Honestly, I could not give less of a damn about some random hardcore PVPers' control setups, sorry. Click-to-move is really annoying for me, and I enjoy the game more with it off.

Good start to the day. Pity it's going to be the worst one of your life. The light is now on.

I just remember clicking on a guy to select him, and starting to run all the way over to attack him. Also, I prettymuch had to use click-to-move because I kept running into crap I couldn't go through properly. When a game reminds me of Fable's pathways...

    A) Soul Wedding isn't random :(http://www.guildwars.com/competitive/gwfc/match3iqvsevil.php http://www.guildwars.com/competitive/gwwc/livecoverage/meet-thelastpride.php

    B) That's fine, you don't have to use it. But seeing people not like the game because of it is just weird. A large number of people are pretty upset that it's being removed, actually. Having the option to do either is the best way to go, and it's surprising that they're removing it.

Ok, now I know he's Korean and likes soccer. In addition to PVPing with the hardest of the hardcore. But his control setup still has no bearing on how I should or should not play GW. :P

I imagine they're removing it because they have to, in favor of jumping and swimming and the new terrain that will come with them. As for how it will affect PVP - I'm sure they'll work it out. We have no idea how the targetting or control systems will work in GW2, so it's too early to get upset about it.

Yeah, I'm in the "Wanted to like it, didn't" boat. I really appreciated what they were trying to do with the gameplay mechanics and trying to make it free through expansion pack release, but it just came off as another generic "fantasy" game to me.

I hope Guild Wars 2 appeals to me better, but I have a hard time playing fantasy games that look like every other fantasy game. Art isn't that important to me, but it's a hook I need to bite in order to keep playing your game.

    I simply have two requirements:

Structured PvP must remain intact. By that I mean as good if not better than the original. UAX should help with this a lot.

Mesmers must be in the game.

Im surprised, this was off the front page so soon. I really need to finish Prophecies and Nightfall. I only beat Factions.

I cant wait to read the full article. Hopefully it will be better, not that there's anything wrong with the current games.
