If anyone is up this early (or late, or whatever time it is where you are) you can start up the launcher and download the patch now. Servers still down, though.
If anyone is around on server The Bastion, shoot me a friend request for any levels of play. I'm an alt junkie so good chance I have a character ready to roll at your level.

unless I'm mistaken, most people on here are either on Shadowlands (the majority) or Jedi Covenant. It's too bad we lost our centralization.
I enjoy the hell out of scoundrel DPS, and I have done HM ops with her (not nightmare though). Scoundrel even has some special utility the way sniper/gunslinger does, in that it's one of the classes that can pull a "dirty rez."
Is the dirty rez, the in combat rez?
No, dirty rez is when you have a stealth character pop their "exit combat" ability and try to use their out of combat res. As long as nothing happens to put them back into combat before the activation time finishes, it works.
A couple of tips: know the mechanics of the fight and look for a area and time that will hopefully be free from combat for a while. If you're a healer make sure you don't have any HoTs running on people because those will put you back into combat immediately. Not sure if DoTs do as well... I would guess they'd be no-nos as well.

Hey about our merger with D.S. for the darkside guild. Is anyone still watching the chat channel. Still trying to get my marauder into the guild. Also working on my Sorc alt and because of my upfront style from Bounty hunter and Sith Warrior I'm having some trouble getting my rotations for comp healing and damage togther.
Anyone know of some good Sorc guides I can use to study up
And I know the talent changes are going to invalidate a good number of them but I'm really just looking for some solid groundwork to get my guy moving

Servers are back up.
As far as the Empire merger goes, no clue. I still haven't been able to get into the new guild on my Empire character and the former guild wasn't even set up in a way that it could continue to function if anyone wanted to stay in it.

So the patch notes from this maint makes it seem like they've put damn near everything legacy-related on sale if you're buying with coins.
It was that somehow, from within the derelict-horror, they had learned a way to see inside an ugly, broken thing... And take away its pain.

Not that I want to be confused with someone who does drop that much money on cartel coins, but someone spending their money on stuff they want to spend it on probably aren't crazy, they're just spending their own money they earned on stuff they want to spend it on.

The kind of people that make cash shops a feasible business model. Mock them not, for their wallets are helping keep SWTOR profitable, and thus alive.

I have no problems with people buying cartel coins. I've dropped a $20 to Bioware for extra coins before. I do it because I am happy to support a game I enjoy beyond the subscription I'm paying. But I still present to the court of the PA forums that spending $60 on 24 random item packs is crazy. There's what, 6 items per pack? I could see it if you could specifically select what 144 items you wanted, but spending that much on random item packs is a bit much, IMO.

I don't see what's ridiculous about supporting something you enjoy. Have you ever bought a poster for a game/movie/band you like? Or a T-shirt? Etc? Part of that purchase is going to those things. The only difference between that and Cartel Coins is that the coins are going toward digital products instead of physical.

No one's asking you to? It's completely optional. It's not a donation. If you want something, a piece of nice looking armor, you can buy it. If you don't want to, you don't have to. Why is this a concept that even needs to be explained?
Anyway, bottom line - it's optional, it's not some outrage or slap in the face, and people who want to spend their money on extraneous things aren't crazy or stupid, they're just spending money on stuff they want to spend it on.

yeah but you got to admit, $60 bucks of 24 packs of in game items when the game itself plus sub is anywhere from $45 to $55

Anyway, speaking of spending my money like a foolish wastrel, where does one find the discounted field repair and respec unlocks? If I just go to the legacy window they aren't discounted there, and they aren't found in the unlock section of the cartel market.

What part of it is not optional? You have access to all of the content and customization in the game as a subscriber with (currently anyway) no limits. You can raid as much as you want, pvp as much as you want, quest as much as you want without anything coming up and saying "Give me money!"

There are plenty of armor sets, vanity items, etc that are part of the game that I can only acquire if I spend more money.
If I could raid or something and get them, then great.
But as is, alot of the cool mounts and cool looking weapons are only obtainable by cartel packs or buying them outright from the cartel market only with more of my money.
So no, playing the game and paying my sub does not give me access to all the content in the game. Some of the content, like I listed above, is locked behind paying them even more money.

That's kind of how I feel about the F2P setup too though. I payed $60 for the box when it came out, which included the things like 3 crew skills, titles, colour matching, etc. But now that I'm not subbing I don't get access to these things, even thought I already paid for them. Oh well. Not the end of the world, but like I've said before, the F2P model only seems to discourage me from playing at all rather than encouraging me to Sub. Also, had the F2P model been more complete, I probably would have spent some money on the Cartel by now. So they've actually lost potential money from me.
The F2P model right now should include everything that existed at launch. The Subscription model should get more character slots, free bag slots, exp and rep boosts, cartel coins monthly, and access to content mini-expansions (new FPs, and stuff like that) as they get released. New areas and flash points should be purchasable by F2P players with cartel coins or through the GTN the way it is now. The price of these areas on the GTN would be very high at first meaning people would spend more cash early on for the unlocks (if they're not subs) if they don't have the credits to buy it at the inflated prices. But people coming back from hiatus months down the road could either purchase them at a lower price on the GTN, or, if many things have been released since he last played, he might find it more worth it to resub for a month or two, access to monthly coins might encourage him to stay subbed. If he decides to let the subscription drop, chances are he's going to stop playing entirely anyways, so nothing is really lost.
The load up the Cartel market with unique outfits, speeders, special light saber gems and mini pets, bonuses, etc.

Everything you listed there is optional and not required to enjoy the game in any way, shape, or form. None of the armors are better than any you get in the game. None of the mounts are better (statistically) than what you get in the game.
To me, your complaints are like a baseball fan complaining about how all you can eat hotdogs and all you can drink beer don't come with his ticket to the game. And, honestly, I think the baseball fan has more right to complain, because baseball is terrible if sober.

The bolded is patently wrong. I am a collector. I like having all the things I can get. That's why I saved up a ton of credits so I could buy the speeders that were going to be taken out of the game before they were taken out. Its also why I am trying to get all my alts to 50. And why I do every event. So it IS actively preventing me from enjoying the game because I see things that I am missing and have no way to acquire them outside of spending more real money than I already am.
And your baseball analogy is a great one. Except that by paying a sub its like I should have a luxury box at that baseball game. Where all the refreshments are supposed to be included. The only effort I should have to put in is going to the game and putting in the time to order it. And maybe paying a premium every now and then (expansions).

You're not understanding me. I went to the legacy window to buy with cartel coins: it's not discounted there. According to patch notes, it's supposed to be discounted. I assumed I would have to purchase directly from the cartel market to get the discount, but it's not there.

Like they said. Nearly everything in the cartel packs is available on the GTN.

The issue is that subscribers should have avenues to get the shit that is available on the cartel market without ever having to use the cartel market (or the GTN, that's a dumb cop-out). We shouldn't just be handed this shit out the gate, we should have to go do something for it like a raid or whatever. But the option should be there.
An excellent example of this bullshit is the Life Day stuff.
I'm getting the sneaking suspicion that they don't want F2P folks (because these people have never given them anything) and they also don't really want subscribers; they want 'preferred' users who spend shitloads in the cash shop.

couple million credits is ridiculous, though, too. and the only reason it costs so much credits is because they are artificially rare through having to spend real money.
If the cartel packs were only available through raiding, I could reconcile it in my mind as part of the collection process. As is, I know that its a money grab on their subscribers and it bugs me.
