I'm curious about what pricing model Gaz chooses. I want to support the product but if they try to charge for characters like Piranha charged for Mech's I will not be playing this game for long.

The devs said the voices of the characters are still being worked on and many of them are placeholder. Deadpool is the only one I've noticed that seems to have close to a full set of lines.

If you beat Magneto, beware of his medal it is bugged. It is supposed to cause 5 damage to yourself every time you hurt an enemy but after today's patch it is doing WAY more than that. About killed myself several times with Iron Man using ranged attacks until I figured out what the issue was.

Iron Man gets completely OP by mid 20s lol. I had gear that replenished health and spirit when you damaged enemies and with his high rate of fire I was always topped off and melting all the faces.

Did they add graphic options or something? Those screenshots, especially the Iron Man model, look a lot better than anything I've seen from the game so far. Maybe it's just my retina display.

They put a graphics slider in, but you still can't manually adjust anything specific. I have been attempting to edit the config file since it's just Unreal engine but most stuff seems to be disabled.

    So! Who's playing this weekend?

I would love to but even though I ordered my founder's pack last week I still don't have a beta key :(

IGN is giving them away this weekend.

@desc I'll probably spend a decent amount of time playing late morning-early afternoon both Sat and Sun, assuming the game doesn't hard-crash my PC like it did last weekend.

People on FB were claiming that even if you're in the beta you still need to redeem and IGN code. Anyone know if that's true?

  • dasnoobdasnoob ArkansasRegistered User regular
Went ahead and got an IGN key and installed the client. Hopefully I can get some gametime in this weekend.

I actually grabbed an IGN key, tried to log in while the server was open and it just sat there never actually getting into the game, and then I registered the IGN key afterwards and it accepted it into my already-existing account. So it appears you do need to.

  • DevoutlyApatheticDevoutlyApathetic Registered User regular
Keep in mind the IGN key is followed by a big chunk of gold code.

It's got to be a bug or something, as I've been in beta for months and have never needed another key.

    Huh, weird. Okay.

So I have gold burning A hole in my pocket. Debating between Thor, spider man, and cyclops.

Any of them super fun or super terrible?

It seems that pre-IGN closed beta folks can still log in this weekend, or at least I can.

Okay Thor is pretty solid feeling at babby levels. Not really into spider man so far. About to try hawk eye.

But storm! I just tried her on a whim and I like this basic push away with wind/zap down lightning style she has! Suddenly, 80s storm is a strong contender for my starter hero!

That fight was much worse prior to Bullseye being nerfed. Pre-nerf you couldn't interrupt his one-shot kill.

Storm didn't click with me. I liked her superman punch and other powers, but hated her default lightning attack. Maybe the trick to her is getting enough spirit so you can pretend it doesn't exist.

Also, any clue what scarlet witches insanity is all about?

Tried a few new champs today. Still haven't touched DP, as I'm saving that experience for release.

Tried out daredevil, jean, and wolverine.

DD did not click at all with me although I didn't really give him much of a chance. Switched out to jean quickly.

Jean seemed very weak early on, although she does get a decent aoe move with knockback early. She has various debuff skills, which so far to me have mostly seemed like garbage. Slows seem damn near useless to me. She also very much sucks at soloing at least early.

She has various mechanics with dark Phoenix, which may be the way to unlock her potential late. She definitely is more
Powerful in this form, and gets an aura that does DMG. It reminds me of sunfire cape from LoL. She seems ok and maybe late game powerful. Was nothing compare to scarlet witch.

Wolverine. Should I be surprised he's awesome? Does good damage, his healing factor lets him take hits like a champ, and as long as you have 20 spirit you're never trapped. I was zipping around the screen like the flash and jump slashing big guys. A lot fun. I may buy him with my fun bucks. I have 3 ranged characters (DP, cyclops, Jean) and was going to buy hulk an his mr fix it costume to round it out, but wolverine is a definite possibility.

I haven't seen to many people talk about him, probably because he's wolverine the most over used property of marvel. But he's a lot of fun in game.

I like Wolverine, but he feels a little underpowered.

So I found a pretty big exploit/bug tonight. If you use the XP boost/Item finding boost potions and take another one before the original expires, the game treats it as if the first never expired.

So I take a one hour XP boost. As it gets to say, 0:05:00 minutes left, I take a second boost potion. In theory, you would think this would set the timer to 1:05:00. But instead it sets it to 1:59:59 and goes.

I did this a second time 2 hours later and got it to 2:59:59

I reported it but thats pretty crazy to still be in the game at this point.

I wouldn't be surprised if nobody has really tried it/messed around with it. I bought a potion just messing around with the store but switched to a different character before it was out. Was disappointed its character based and not account based.

About wolverine, ya he is weak in some ways but he's pretty fun to play. One thing is some characters are so powerful, others fail to shine. Like the hulk is so good no other meelee compares. For wolverine to compare, his hopping slash would have to slam the ground when he lands an knock everyone down :)

The boosters have only been in game less than a month so not surprised they are bugged.

I went with Wolverine in this last test. Besides Captain America, I've used all ranged characters in the past. Wolvie is pretty fun. AoE and cone attacks, health regen, seems like a good DPS character. I think I'll be sticking to Hawkeye and Cap for the release, though. Cap's shield boucing off of everything like a pinball is too much fun.

I don't know about cap's shield, but fought taskmaster the other day and his shield hits like a truck!

I think I'm gonna try some more meele heroes. My plan right now is to pick scarlet witch to start, I have DP jean n cyclops, and will probably buy hulk and mr fix it with the first of my fun bucks.

Also, gambit. Is it just me or is his voice in the game? Some f the hencmen say stuff like "I ain't afraid of you" and it reminds me dead on of gambit from the cartoons.

Having a blast as Iron Man. I'm really bummed they retired the single pack of his (sorry but I'm not paying $60 just to get my favorite hero) so I'm hoping I can just earn the cash to buy him in the game.

Which makes me wonder who I should choose to start out with. Do we have any idea which characters are considered "starters" for the game's launch? (When is launch, anyway?)

    June 4th?
DD, Hawkeye, storm, scarlet witch, thing are starter characters.

If any of the $20 packs have a character you like I believe the $15 in currency should be enough for IM and a skin. N

Yea, I totally had to buy that. Her old costume of fighting in a bathing suit (or a even more revealing bathing suit...) is just annoying.

Took Colossus out for a spin. I'm really getting more and more impressed by how different characters feel. I'm trying to figure out why the fuck Colossus is literally ignoring the enemies opening ranged fire and after poking around he gets a regenerating Armor pool. I know Captain Marvel can get "charged" by energy attacks and the Red Witch has some kind of reality bending bar. There nice touches.

Though Colossus is such a slog. He is exactly what you expect, a big durable tank without much finesse. Blech.

Black panther felt a lot like daredevil to me in ways, and can't say I clicked with either.

Is thor melee, ranged, or a bit or both? Was thinking of taking him or colossus out for a spin.
