I get paid tomorrow...so this is pretty bad timing. I'm sure I'm going to break down and buy a few things. Depends on how cheap Spidey and the Reilly suits are.
Why not use the deflection medal then and similar items?
Does deflection spawn on gear? Because Cyke has nothing skill-wise that grants it (just dodge). Which makes me wonder if one medal plus a couple artifacts would make it worthwhile to have.
And this sale makes me happy- Deadpool, Wolverine, and Hulk are definitely on my "want to purchase" list.
You can get about 12% just from the medallion alone. I think I've seen an artifact with it on there, too. So you could probably get to about 30% or so, which would be nice, if it wasn't taking away three slots of +damage and other helpful bonuses.
I wanted to give you guys an update, but I don't have the time for a full dev blog today.
Here's some of the things we did today:
1. Worked on buffing many heroes. The focus here was making sure everyone was powerful. We made many small, medium and large changes. These changes will roll out over the next few patches.
Minor Example: Spider-Man starts with +1 more Energy so he doesn't get a penalty to Energy attacks.
Major Example: We made Spider-Man's ultimate do triple damage, penetrate boss tenacity (so they get stunned) and make sure the 100% dodge is working perfectly and correctly.
3. Worked on the Defense issue. Made buffs to a few parts of the game to help this issue and some research into the best solution. This is probably the most important specific design issue we are working on.
Example: Adamantium Skeleton, Bulwark of Steel, Hulk Tough and many more mitigation powers were buffed significantly.
Example: Started work to add % damage reduction attached to the Durability attribute.
4. Made changes to end-game rewards the most fun modes in a greater way. There are many of these.
Example: Increased experience and loot in red terminals.
5. Worked on a smaller new end-game feature codenamed Superhero Synergy for launch in late July.
6. Worked on a 5v5 PVP mode. This will roll out in late July at the earliest, late August at the latest.
7. Worked on a new end-game PVE mode codenamed Koayashi Maru. Funnest thing ever? You decide. (Changed the codename since this has absolutely nothing to do with the Infinity Gauntlet story in any way)
8. Did a little work on Torch.
9. Worked on floating combat text to make it look awesome and be accurate during scaling situations. More complicated than you may think.
10. Worked on new itemization for end-game players.
11. Worked on new PVE open-world zone.
12. Worked on tech to add health bar (optional) to bosses so you can see what's going on in Limbo.
13. Increased size of bosses by 25% so you can see them better in group settings.
14. Reduced a couple of the most expensive crafting costs.
15. Flintlock pistols.
16. Black Panther tribal hands clean up.
More from the last couple of hours:
17. Cleaning up UI to show damage multipliers on attacks so your tooltip always shows the damage you are doing after multipliers.
18. Sped up some hero abilities / attacks so they aren't clunky.
19. Buffing exp for discoveries (the little events you see happening all over)
Doomsaw has been posting a lot on the forums, and he has single handedly restored a lot of confidence I had in the game.
Yeah if there are more dev blog stuff coming, and they actually implement those changes in a timely manner, people will just brush it off as a rough start to the game. At least I will

As I'm prone to say over on the Mechwarrior Online official forums: Communication is everything. A game can be in a rough spot and gamers will just not give a fuck as long as the devs are open and honest about what's going on. Gamers will pretty much forgive M:H entirely and throw tons of money at it as long as Gaz manages their PR correctly and gets things fixed up properly.

Those dev blog notes sound awesome. Really hope they release a full list soon, or even better, the patches themselves.

Sale is up. Most heroes are $1 cheaper but the $20 ones are all $15, Captain America is $6, and Black Widow is $4.50. I couldn't see Wolverine's price since I already own him, wouldn't be surprised if he was $6 as well.
I think it's a pretty good sale. I was even able to use my leftover Gs to purchase the incredibly horrible 90's costume for Storm.
I'll probably grab Cap, Widow and her grey outfit for $15. Good deal. I'm very disappointed that I can't be USAgent, though.

The 90s costume or the 200G x-men uniform? Because the 200g costume is probably her best one. The hero sales aren't as drastic as I wanted, but I'll probably end up grabbing Captain America. My dilemna is that I want to buy a few of these heroes/costumes, but half the fun of playing the actual game for me is the chance that one of them will drop, so on one hand I could have these things now, but it might take away some of the fun of the game for me.

Love the dev notes, but again gaz should have been a bit more up front about we expect gameplay to change a lot, so dont worry too much about maxing level and getting builds. It feels like phase 2 beta with a 3 and final pending. Admittedly I would rather they release the game early and let me level up on characters (permanently unlike the beta people) then to hold off another 3-5 months.
That said im more inclined to buy costumes and hope from hero drops because some of the hero default costumes are just awful
Considering hero and chase costumes are the only point, buying heroes does feel like cheating. On the other hand, I really want Black Panther because apparently I want melee to work somehow.
I think Storm's silver costume is the best. But maybe I'm just interested in my X-Men being the ones from 1991's X-Men #1. Brown Wolverine, 90's Cyclops, Silver Storm... I'm bummed that there's no Jean Grey with the 90's head wrapper that Jim Lee seemed to be putting on everybody.
Well, not a bad sale, but I think I'm going to wait to buy anything until I do another playthrough or a few of the dailies to see if I can manage a drop or two.
They reduced the price by a dollar and that's supposed to be a sale? We joked about it being 4% above but it looks like the jokes on us as its actually a whopping 9%. I guess they don't need my money very badly.
By the way, if anyone's wondering whether or not to pick up cap. I'd say go for it. Out of the heroes I've played so far he's prove to be the most consistently fun even at high levels. That's if you feel you want to purchase a hero of course.
Well, probably not low enough to buy multiple heroes, but I'll get one... Spidey probably. Will have to see if there are any costumes I'm interested in.
In other news, found the Cytorrak (?) gem and boots with 21% special item find. We will see if the additional 7% makes any difference.
Been WIKI'ing heroes ever since I started playing this game, and I gotta say Marvel appears to have gone DOWWWWWWNHILL since the 90s. I can't make any fucking sense out of any of the storylines I've been reading about, and I don't think there's any character in the Marvel universe that hasn't died at least 5 times in the last decade.
On the contrary, Marvel has been on the whole pretty darn good for quite a while now. We are currently in the middle of Marvel NOW, which as a whole is ridiculously consistent in it's quality. Like 90% of Marvel's current output is worth reading.
I will take modern Marvel over the silly 90s EXTREEEEEEME era any day.
Yeah Marvel has possibly never been better that it is right now.
Some of you may have purchased a hero or costume in the last few days, not knowing this sale was about to start. If you have purchased a hero from the in-game store since Tuesday, June 25th, we will refund the difference (in Gs) between your purchase price and the sale price.
In addition, if you purchased a costume since Tuesday that has dropped in price by 400Gs or more, we will also refund the difference (in Gs) between your purchase price and the sale price.
I'm a bit disappointed in the sale. Was hoping for more than just Cap to get a really good discount. They had mentioned Wolverine getting attention in the sale because Canada Day is July 1st, but then only made him a dollar off. That was a letdown.
But it's not terrible, some decent costume prices and the Cap deal is very good. I bought Cap and his Marvel NOW outfit. Might get Hawkeye's NOW outfit as well.
I dont see myself really picking anything up. I'm still a bit miffed they are only going back to the 25th considering a lot of people probably dropped money during that bonus weekend. I know I did.

I think that is a bit unreasonable. I'm impressed they are refunding the difference for anyone, let alone from multiple days back.

4%.....So 36c off of Wolverine. That sounds about like Gaz.
I finally got a hero drop. It was Storm (coincidentally the character I picked as for a starter)--but that's somethin'!

They also need to go ahead and give it a button to itself. Just put it off to the side of the spirit bar, or a little tab up on top, anything.

There are still more heroes I'd like to play that I'll never buy, so I have plenty to hunt for.

I agree that that mask bites, but I liked Jean Grey's head frame costume.
Late 80's/Early 90's hair needs some space!

This is one of the costumes available for purchase. It's not obvious in the store but she definitely has the blue headpiece on.
Not This X-Men #1:
Glorious.
Yeah Marvel has possibly never been better that it is right now.
Wow, color me impressed.
Both of these Jean costumes are in the store.

Ahh, I thought it was missing, since I hadn't looked in-game, only at the official website where they forget to list it.
