Free webcam software that isn't terrible?

This laptop I got from my mom didn't seem to have any installed when she gave it to me, and I tried to use ManyCam but it has a nasty watermark.

I tried downloading a Toshiba one from the official website but I can't make it stop turning on when I turn the computer on and it only takes photos after a 3 second delay.

    I barely ever made use of it myself, but SplitCam is freeware to my knowledge, so you could give it a go. Actual webcam stuff wasn't why I was going to be using it, but I've heard it's good.

    I just installed it. It's not bad, but I don't care for the porn advertising on the sidebar.

    Well I can guarantee you that was NOT a thing when I was last using it, hahaha. Jeez. My apologies. Maybe that's not always what the ad is? I would hope?

    Also weirdly, when I try to take a photo, this white bar comes up and covers the window so I can't really see what I'm shooting.
