It's not like there wasn't a shitload of product placement anyway (mostly tech, obviously) but cripes. That's just bad. Especially since it was generally a pretty efficient movie at moving things along.
I just remembered.
Wasn't there talk of like five different villains in this movie? I'm glad that didn't happen.
Oh. The Thor trailer looked pretty cool in 3D. I was hoping for the Man of Steel one though.
Iron Man 3 was great. I think it was the best of the three, too. It had the distinct advantage of NOT falling apart in the last act along with all of the other great things everyone else has already mentioned.

The Man of Steel trailer didn't really look all that great in 3D to me, probably because its the same trailer we have all seen for the past year and a half.
I wasn't crazy about Iron Man. Villains are my favorite part of superhero films, and I feel like this trilogy has the weakest by far.
l love what they did with The Mandarin, but the film's conflict sort of deflated afterwards as a villain with a philosophy was switched out for a nerd with a grudge and a thinly described profit motive.
And did Killian really need to create a terrorist and kill the president to stimulate military spending?
Also, he goes from wanting to kill Stark to needing him to perfect the Extremis treatments rather arbitrarily, according to what the plot demands. It makes for some very empty scenes, at least when they aren't stomping each other.
I wish they'd adapted Five Nightmares instead of Extremis.
The PTSD would have combined nicely with the anxieties expressed in that story, namely fear of what the future holds now that the genie is out of the bottle on technology and super humans.
Plus, having Ezekiel Stane come in as both a ghost from the past and a harbinger of the future would have given the trilogy some symmetry and made it seem like the end of Stark's era, which is fitting for the end of a trilogy.
You could have kept the human bombs and enhanced human stuff too.

He created the Mandarin of a number of reason including having someone to take responsibility for all the exploding people their experiments created.

He could've just done his experiments somewhere where the explosions wouldn't be noticed.
Plus, what was the timeline on getting these exploding soldiers to populated areas where they might be perceived as a terrorist attack? The dude at the Chinese Theater exploded within a few minutes, so they'd pretty much always have to be near populated areas with some political significance while doing Extremis stuff.
Or they could just go somewhere deserted and avoid the trouble.

I liked IM3, but it's a very subdued like, probably helped by the other two movies and giving Marvel the benefit of the doubt.
I loved 1 (still think its the best comic movie), liked 2 more than most people do (it accepts that it's 90 minutes of just continuing to show off the armor and toys, which I liked compared to TDK), and 3 is probably down there with Thor on my list of "saw it, glad I saw it, don't really want to see it again" films.
RDJ is good, Paltrow seemed like she was phoning it in compared to the other films, Cheadle, Pierce and Kinglsey were all good, Cheadle was hella cheated with screen time though.
Half the film felt more like what I think Winter Soldier will be as opposed to Iron Man, and it had a lot of jokes and scenes that fell flat or tried to bring too much levity to situations compared to the other films, where it was the instant wit that made Tony so likable. The film also thought some of its political things were more clever than they really were. And while the film did have some decent Iron Man scenes, most notably the end, the other times it felt kind of low budget, even the Extremis stuff. There was one big, big flaw to the movie that kept popping up all the time.....
....the kid, oh man did that kid get annoying. He always looked like he was about to break character if the camera stayed on him too long, and any banter RDJ was trying to make just got lost in trying to talk to him. A really, really bad lull in the middle because of that. They should have gotten the kid from Real Steel or something, plus he has experience with robots. Or just not used a kid at all.
The Mandarin twist was dumb but Kingsley does a real good job, and I would have liked to see him actually be a real threat who was buoyed by social media and getting the gullible to go along with his rants.
While Pierce's reasoning for doing all the stuff was generic, I did like why the VP would have gone along with it, it was quick and simple and didn't feel so blantant like the whole Roxxon oil thing.
Parking the suit like a bike, nice touch, wish there was more little things like that. The boobs bunny was just nah brah, nah.
I wanted to see more of the other suits as opposed to fighting at night against generics. Like he was constantly changing armors throughout the film or something.
The use of slo-mo was really kind of meh to me, especially the scene with Pepper punching the IM armor, it felt like that was in her contract or something that they had to do as opposed to actually being a cool moment. In fact that whole Pepper fight scene felt very forced, like the only way to show a female is cool is to make her be Black Widow Mark II (get it?). If she had Rescue or something and saved the President while Rhodey got to fight some brajs, that would have been better.
As for the ending, why even tease that this will be the end, we know it won't, with or without RDJ.
I guess I was surprised how much Demon in a Bottle didn't even factor in, because it really is much, much better than Extremis. If only they kept in the puking in the toilet scene in IM2 to foreshadow it more for it appearing in IM4 (hopefully).
Glad Dummee was saved, that warmed my heart a bit.
Omega Sentinel and Hercules are a ridiculous team, even pvp, I might actually get past silver this season rofl.
But Omega gets Herc to Blessing of Olympus so quick it's kinda silly.

Man, that kid. That whole segment felt really out of place, like it belonged in an '80s/'90s movie about a kid who stumbles upon a magical, alcoholic mentor who teaches him to believe in himself and maybe becomes his new dad.
And by the time Pepper started showing off, I felt like the movie was already over. If she'd started fighting at the same time as everyone else, it'd have felt less tacked-on.
The rumored list was Lobo, Batgirl, Zod and Scorpion and with 2 of them in it totally looks like it's gonna be Zod and Scorpion
which are both also terrible because while Zod is a cool character Superman has literally the same exact powers and while they made it work with Sinestro and Black Adam why waste a DLC character on someone so similar power-wise
and Scorpion because they spent forever talking about how the game is unique and independent from MK and whoops nope gonna put him in instead of a cool DC character
I wish they'd adapted Five Nightmares instead of Extremis.

They can adapt Five Nightmares later on. Thought it sucks that they took the idea about super-soldiers Iron Men that blow up so they might have to give him new technology so it won't look like a copy of Killian's plot.
Characters who should be in Injustice before Barbara Gordon include but is not limited to:
Darkseid
Power Girl
Ambush Bug
Captain Cold
Zatanna
Silver Age Jimmy Olsen

any member of birds of prey would have been a good fit for a DLC character. Hell even Strix would have been a nice curveball
If they want to add more Batman characters, they should at least add more unique characters like Poison Ivy, Clayface, Firefly, and maybe even Phantasm or Clock King.
While I can admit it was exceptionally well done, I haaaaaaated the twist with the Mandarin. I felt like we were cheated out of something supremely cool, as well as a nice tie in with the terrorists from the first movie.
Loved the Yensin cameo at the beginning, and holy shit did they manage to keep a lid on that post-credits sequence. Holy shit. Rest of the movie was highly enjoyable, but I'm not sure if it'll leave a lasting impression.
End felt a little pointless, because there's no way Iron Man won't be in the Avengers 2

Kinda sounds like you may have misinterpreted the end?
Also
Surprised so many people didn't like the kid. I thought they maintained the difficult line of making him annoying to the character and thus funny instead of annoying to the audience.

Well Zod is obviously because of the movie.
But Scorpion is just such a waste. Why would I want to download a character that's been in 10+ fighting games including one that had half the characters of this one? What's the point?

What I mean is, it was a futile gesture to destroy the suits and get rid of the chest RT like it meant something. We know he's going to build another suit, even if he didn't outright say "I am Iron Man" at the end. It's like they were trying to be super symbolic, when they were just being pointless.
Anywho, it's late, I'm tired and these were just some quick thoughts.
The point of destroying the Suits and getting his chest thing out were about getting closure. It was never about not being Iron Man or not building another suit. It was about not using it as a crutch for his fear. Or avoiding looking for a solution for his heart out of fear.

I got to disagree with you on Mandrin. I thought it was a brilliant move simply because yes noone saw him coming. the setup and twist was done perfectly to the point it throws you every time your shown what he really is. Also loved the movie but felt Don got robbed off screen time just a bit. Still had the best scene in the movie when he exits warmachine kicking ass and Killian breaths fire at him, giving him a serious wtf moment

EDIT: This is going to be another thing where I derail a thread because of a stupid opinion I don't even care that much about, so I'll just say you're right.
I still think it was dumb of Stark to blow up those suits rather than mothball or dismantle them manually. We saw from when 42 blew up that they leave a LOT of salvage around.
And hopefully nobody gets the bright idea to trawl around Iron Man's old house for goodies.

Ehhhh
At least Lobo is kinda unique, whereas we have Batman, Nightwing, Green Arrow and other martial artists.
Gimme Martian Manhunter or Swamp Thing or even Black Canary, at least she has her sonic scream, someone different

Pretty much.
We have Batman, Nightwing, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Green Arrow, and Deathstroke who all can do what Batgirl can do
Better female choices would have been:
Black Canary
Cheetah
Cheshire
Circe
Doctor Light
Fire
Knockout
Livewire
Looker
Manhunter
Nightshade
Phantom Woman
Poison Ivy
Rampage
Rocket
Scandal Savage
Shining Knight
Silver Banshee
Starfire
Terra
Vixen
Zatanna
Now, if she has Cassandra and Stephanie skins (which she won't), I'll play as her for a bit.
Even more of a waste is if they put Scorpion in as rumored.

What's with the outfit? It looks like they put car seat leather on her chest and called it a day.
I mean, I'm sure a lot of effort went into those character designs. They're just, in my opinion, horrible.
Well this is the guy who for years sold games where half the characters wore different colors of the same three outfits.
Touche.
That's probably what motivated the decision.
As for Zod, the reasons for that should be obvious, though he does seem pretty redundant in a game that already has an evil Superman.
