Particularly strong goblin stink and/or other monstrous BO. Or other interesting and detestable scents.
If my role play is hindered by rolling to play, then I'd prefer the rolls play right, instead of steam-rolling play-night.

Ah.
Henri:
You do get quite the whiff of goblin-related stink coming from both northern corridors. You can smell something else to the South, but all you can be sure about is that it's not from goblins.
"So that way then?" Manthunder says, pointing down the northeastern hall. "If you're lying little goblin, I know just where to find you." He smiles menacingly at the bound goblin.

Dammit, where's my post gone? Sorry, I thought I had posted something over the weekend, but apparently not. lolVanilla?
Ignoring the quivering goblin, Ivy set about examining the cave walls and floors for tracks and traces of movement, trying to determine the most recently used passage and in which direction the user(s) travelled.

Ivy:
The tunnels that both lead to the North in various directions are well worn, and the sloping indicates travel both to and fro.
The South tunnel is not nearly as worn, and what few erosions there are suggest more travel away from it than towards it.
Also, after two days of skill checks to essentially determine the same thing, I'm house-ruling that if you are making a skill check to determine something that was already essentially determined by a previous skill check, but in a different manner, you can see the results of the previous person's skill check if you roll sufficiently high, if that person hasn't already mentioned the results.
Henri sniffs about, vaguely interested in the passage to the north east, but takes a few steps south as he seems to catch some scent on the breeze. "Funnnn?" he grumbles out as his lips twist into a lopsided smile and points towards the lesser-used passage. "Or more gob-linsss?" he jerks a thumb behind him, indicating the north again.
If my role play is hindered by rolling to play, then I'd prefer the rolls play right, instead of steam-rolling play-night.

"Well, if we're going, we best be going" quipped the diminutive sorceress as she started to head north-east, seeming to dim slightly, as though a previously unnoticed light source was no longer illuminating her even, as the sound of her fluttering wings faded as though into the distance, all while hovering right there....
Henri looks to the south again, and appears poised to say something, but finally shrugs and falls into step behind the sprite. He shoots the rest of the group an unsettling wink and places a single finger to his lips before settling into an almost unnatural silence.
Manthunder turns to the Dragonborn, "If you hear screams, you come save us." he says with a wink, he then drops down into a hunched stance and follows the pixie down the hallway.

Whispering quietly to her companions, Ivy suggested "a not-at-all-suspiciously empty corridor? That couldn't possibly be full of traps and/or alarms now, could it? I don't suppose either of you fine gents knows a thing or two about such articles?"
The brutish Henri looks incredibly confused by the question. It seems a good chance that he will not be deftly disabling anything that requires more complexity than being smashed with a fist.

If Sharry needs more light, Ivy can use her magic lightbulb thing but I tend to favour calling Rahger forward. Could an "aid another" for stealth work with their relative positions or would someone have to go back for him?
Manthunder slinks back to the dwarf and dragonborn, "Well, we can't see any more goblins... It's just a nice long hallway, though I don't know if these goblins are smart enough to rig up traps or not... Care to come take a look?"

Rahger tromped forward as quietly as he could, being decently silent for a dwarf, and laid his hand against the stone. He closed his good eye and peered around the hall, trying to get a sense of what things the rocks might be hiding in them.
Rahger peers down the hall for a few moments longer, then shrugs. "Ah dun think there's anythin' that we be needin' ta worry about. Least not til we get ta tha end." And with that, the dwarf starts off down the hall with the thump-thump-thump only a dwarf can make.
Manthunder stands up, confident now that there are three others in front of him. He strides down the hallway and waits for Henri to report what is around the corner.

Henri:
As you peek around the corner, you can see the hallway leads into a leisure hall of some sort. You can make out a crude fountain, and standing close by it, his back to you, you can see another goblin. This one looks a bit bulkier than his kin you just spitted.
Henri looks back at his companions with a monstrously wide grin splitting his face, and frantically motions for them to follow as he crouches and digs in.
Whatever he's found, he looks ready to pounce...

The goblin nods to Rahger, then looks to the Northeast.

I think moving on is good, probably NE tunnel. If people think they should scout I'm ambivalent but won't get in the way of people's fun.
Either way, NE tunnel seems as good as any.
