You can pick up a moist nugget and a 7.62 reload kit for less than 100 bucks at some gun shows. It would be cheaper than BF4 and all the inevitable DLC it will have that you will inevitably hate.

For extra realism you can sneak into the Chernobyl Exclusionary Zone and hunt radioactive wolves.
I'm imagining a three-team game with two teams fighting each other and the other is the Industrial Complex which can't be hurt but gets points by giving ammunition to members of the other two teams

and you control your hands like Surgeon Simulator 2013
poorly made ammunition will garner you fewer or negative points and will explode when used
I miss BC2 until I remember rounds where choppers were near invulnerable and much more often then BF3, getting spawn trapped and smashed endlessly because spawns were not off limits.
The gunplay was much tighter in BF3 and the movement system was more immersive which lent itself to faster gameplay. Building destruction in BC2 was insane. Literally insane. Created by madmen.
The only thing I missed from BC2 was my M1 Garand.

Yep, you joined and just waited for the map to be over.

I was kinda disappointed in what seemed to be toned down destruction in BF3. Some of those maps in BC2 are still some of my favorites. I'd like to see some of them revived. I can't think of the name...The snow map with a factory on one end, multiple houses in the middle and a warehouse on the other end. That map brings back fond memories for me.

I really don't get why people say that they toned down the destruction in BF3. Sure, some of the infantry maps dialed it back a bit, but Metro and Bazaar are the only 2 that really come to mind. Caspian, for example has an entire forest of destructible trees. There are a bunch of shacks and 1 story buildings that can be blown up chunk by little chunk. There are several larger buildings that can be knocked down. Just about every wall you see can be blown up. You can blow up towers and at the end of the map a giant scripted event takes place where the tower by "A" has it's support cables bombed and it falls over. The biggest diference in BF3 was that the buildings didn't howl like banshies before falling over.

I'm not sure if I want fully destructable buildings. Every map would be leveled by the end of each round! Maybe if there were more buildings.
Are PA people still playing BF3 much on PC? I've already got the base game, and I have the game +premium on 360, but was considering getting premium for the PC as I just found it for $33.99 which seems like an ok price. If no-one plays anymore I might give it a miss though!

The horrific sounds during BC2 building collapses were one of my favourite things. And the panic as you're trying to squeeze out an exit jammed with idiot teammates. It definitely feels rare to have buildings collapse in BF3, despite being possible.
@Mulletude Wasn't there a central building on B that always got the absolute shit beaten out of it? The great map for town levelling was Arica Harbor on conquest - 40mm grenades, C4, mortar, they all did their part.

That's right. It was surrounded by other buildings but the point was on that center house.
I get what That Guy is saying but I loved how every building on a map would be rubble by the end. Just chaos. You can tell me the destruction is the same but it sure doesn't feel the way it did in BC2.
That said, BF3 is the superior game and i've gotten tons of enjoyment out of it. Take my complaint as a minor nitpick. Not an indictment of BF3.

there's still a few people who play. It tends to be hit and miss depending on the release of other big games though.

I really want to live in whatever region you are in, I'd buy everyone at that price and flip them up here for a buck fifty for a quick sale.
I'm really a fan of asymmetrical attack and defend modes and maps. Halo 3 had a lot of these, where one side would get vehicles and the other didn't. I feel BC2 did this as well. I do not remember as much of this in BF3.
Also like maps where there is a good mix of vehicle and infantry combat, instead of just one or the other.
Ugh, I always feel awful seeing how good some people are at BF. They make it look like COD! I'm that good at Blops games, but BF? No, I struggle to get 0.1 k/d. It's a good damn thing I like everything about BF better, otherwise, no way I'd ever play.

The most important thing to take your time, line up a shot and only take said shot when you know there is a kill to be made. I all too often just rush into a combat situation without evaluating the area around me. I will just see a guy and start shooting at him. Spray and Pray is really not a viable tactic for BF3. With the ease at witch squads can spawn damn near anywhere on the map, you really have to find a good spot for cover before you open fire. I can't even count the number of times I have just started opening up on someone only to be gunned down by someone behind me behind cover.
3 round bursts is generally best unless you're using a m60 or m240b. the m60 is actually fairly accurate up to about 5 or 6 shots (you have to track down a bit due to muzzle climb) and the 240b fires so fast that you're going to go over or under 3 shots a lot.
my advice is don't worry about gun stats too much. For the most part, each gun is fairly balanced but with different handling characteristics. So find one that you are good with and you enjoy using.
Pretty much. Great thing about BF3 is that there isn't really a "God" gun. The M16 is probably the closest thing to that but it is far from OP and i've never had trouble shooting mans with most of the others.

Dug! You guys still playing on XBL?
I've been out of the BF loop for months, got a 3 month old girl now (turns out, babies make it hard to find time for games yourself). I've been kind of hankering for some BF3 lately. I need to get some C4 jeeps in.
I have been playing Dragon's Dogma but I'm up for it. I thought you moved to the PC.

Heck no, just running a laptop right now so no proper gaming rig.
I'm still a 360 man, just got caught up in baby-time. Now she's getting a little bit of a routine so I can play at night after like 9pm PST.
I don't I have any of the last two or three expansions though, so if you roll with me we're kicking it Karkand style. And at this point I doubt it will be worth it for me to get any new expansions with BF4 coming up.

Smoke spamming your own rush objectives so the other side couldn't see or figure out what the fuck was going on worked every time.

DICE has never implemented full VOIP support in one of their PC games as far as I can remember. As much as I wish they would, it's highly unlikely.
