I'm really happy that the XM25 exists as an anti-camper weapon. Really shitty at directly killing people, but really awesome at digging out snipers and roof bums. I'm still pretty sure that like 90% of people have no idea how to use the airburst.

Ok. In my sig is a donate button. If you are interested in getting a server for BF4, please put your money there. Once we have enough to pre-pay for 6 months, I will order the server. Pre-orders go live on the 14th and the game doesn't come out until the 30th. Right now we don't know how much they are going to cost, but BF3 servers were rather pricy early on. A 64 player server could be close to $100 a month.

I don't get why they're still using the RPG-7 as the de-facto rocket launcher, in essentially the same incarnation since the 1960s. There's literally dozens of other russian/european/nato stovepipes they couldve went with (which would be keeping up with all the shiney new-age gear in BF4), most of which would make way more sense to have guided warheads. I don't think any of the modernized countries in BF4 use what is essentially a step-up from a ww2 bazooka anymore.

The peeking and prone stuff looks really nice. I'm butthurt about BF4 coming out so soon after I bought BF3 but it's looking like maybe I'm going to end up picking this up. Maybe...
It's pretty junky at close range because its RoF is so low and it has no hipfire accuracy, but it's alright mid/longmid range, especially when deployed. Only downside as an MG I feel is the low magazine, which I figure will be customizable in retail.
Just played my first round with a bunch of you. I was on the other team but I didn't switch because:
1) For the first 1/3rd of the round my guns kept firing on their own so I had to run around with the knife out and only switch to a gun to unload on someone.
2) Our team was getting stomped and it wouldn't have been fair if I joined the rest of you for the ownage.
I only played for, what, 15 minutes or something? But it was fun. I like the map - urban combat is fun, especially with some height differences. It feels like a more mobile Karkand because it's not afraid of more wide open, flat spaces, whereas a map like Sharqi fills what little non-building space it has with hills.
Has anyone else had their QBS-09 consume shells at a completely ludicrous rate? It takes 5 or 6 spare shells to load one into the magazine. It's like my soldier is grabbing all six shells and fumbles most of them every time I reload!
My graphics card(s) seem cool with BF4 but I can't fix the high CPU usage and stuttering. I've tried a few fixes but for whatever reason I don't feel a strong desire to keep troubleshooting. Is it worth persisting?
the stuttering is pretty much normal right now. It's an issue that DICE is aware of, and have said this is an old version of the client (supposedly older than a few of the previous videos released prior to beta).

The ammo reload glitch pretty much makes Shotguns not fun to play with when reloading a single shell costs an entire tube of ammo.
Is there some trick to getting the PC download to work? Every time it's about to complete I get an error message and it resets to 88%. I tried disabling "Origin in Game," but now it just resets the download without the error message.

JP from Redline winds up being a lot of my avatars, so I figured he should be my BF4 emblem as well.
Went 27-7 as a chopper gunner, and most of those deaths were in between chopper spawns. Playing with some rando chopper pilot who was awesome (Lambda89 in that game). We're friends now.

If I didn't know any better I would say that my computer is sentient and pissed off that I am replacing most of it tomorrow. My UPS died this morning and I have had 3 hard lockups so far today.
Emblems will be wiped after the beta, so make sure you back them up!

So my PC just refuses to play the beta. I just get the loading screen forever. I tried the beta on my ps3, and while it worked, I do not like the controls.

this is a large percentage of people trying to play.
apparently they know of two of the major reasons for this. according to their news thing they've fixed it but dunno when they'll release the fix.

I get that sometimes, too. I have to restart my PC and then the game finally loads.

I've suddenly started to get massive FPS dips. I hate that there may be stealth server updates (or a client update that I missed) because I have no idea what "changes". For all I know it's just a totally random thing that just started to happen after 16 hours of play.
In any case, I'm having a ball with it. I'm likely going to buy this game twice; since a good number of friends will be playing on PS4 and it won't be (as) gimped as BF3 was on consoles. Also, I can't wait a couple weeks :P

The LAV spawns at the bottom of the ocean lol. Also, the boats can randomly spawn on land.

The Ultimax is actually pretty good from deployed positions. From the hip, it performs like you might expect an LMG to: Badly.
It plays like the IAR did from BF3, and is the gun that replaced it in this iteration.
So I "unlocked" the UMP-9 through the Engineer Master assignment (which was a COLOSSAL pain in the ass) and it doesn't even give it to me.
Laziest limited beta demo ever.
