Back at Bungie, we’re all hard at work gearing up for the big show in June, but we didn’t want to leave you empty-handed heading into E3. To whet your appetite for Destiny’s gameplay reveal on June 10th, we’re releasing a CG/live action trailer that features three Guardians in action. The spot, titled “Law of the Jungle,” was created in collaboration with director Jon Favreau, actor Giancarlo Esposito, and visual effects house Digital Domain.
See you at E3!

HOUSEMARQUE DEVELOPING A “SPIRITUAL SUCCESSOR” TO THE SUPER STARDUST FRANCHISE ON PLAYSTATION 4
Helsinki, Finland, May 23 – Housemarque, the award winning developer of downloadable hit titles such as Dead Nation, Outland and Super Stardust HD, announced they are hard at work on a (still unnamed) “spiritual successor” to the Super Stardust franchise. The game will be released as a PlayStation®4 (PS4) exclusive.
“We are super excited to be working on Sony’s next-gen hardware,” said Housemarque’s CEO Ilari Kuittinen. “The platform’s performances are enabling us to do things that wouldn’t be possible otherwise and we truly believe that better technology can lead to better gameplay. The more tools and resources we have at our disposal, the better. Think of Super Stardust HD: at the time, PlayStation 3 gave us the opportunity to populate the game with thousands of interactive objects and implement the game’s famous ‘spherical gameplay’. Today, we can take advantage of the architecture of PlayStation 4 to create incredible visuals with direct impact on the way the new game feels.”
Following a long-standing tradition of partnerships with Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios Europe, Housemarque is currently busy with the above-mentioned title along with another unannounced PS4 project. More information on both games will be released in the upcoming months.
Apart from the upcoming Final Fantasy has any other JRPGs been announce? Persona/Tales or any other franchise?
Man, I wish. I remember having to wait a really long time to get any worthwhile JRPGs on the PS3 or 360. I even bought Infinite Undiscovery on launch day at full price because I was that desperate. It remains unplayed after about five hours, and I may never get back to it.
I believe Namco stated that all Tales games would remain on Sony platforms from now on, so there's a good sign. I keep hoping Persona 5 will finally get announced any day now, but no idea if that'll be on PS4 or PS3.
And Final Fantasy.........I really want to care about Final Fantasy again, so let's see if Square's constant E3 hyping is actually founded for a change.
I am falling hard for the PS4. I spent an hour yesterday going through the Playstation 4 playlist Sony has on youtube. I want all the games I saw. The Witness, Knack, DriveClub, Diablo III, Assassin's Creed IV, Deep Down, Killzone, Infamous, Watch_Dogs, Destiny. All of them. Now.
Level 5 have confirmed they're working on a PS4 JRPG but we have no idea what it'll actually be. Probably a new IP but I wouldn't mind a Ni No Kuni 2 or Dark Cloud 3.
Snugglesworth is right about Tales. Namco spent a long time fucking around with different systems this gen before finally landing on the PS3 and realising that that's where the Tales audience is. They won't be going anywhere.
Otherwise, you just have to guess where publishers are going to end up. Given the support NIS, Marvelous, Gungho and Atlus are thrown towards the PS3 and Vita recently, I think it's safe to say they'll be around.
I really liked the "Michael" ad Sony made and the one above because it makes me as the player feel like the legend, not just a witness to an epic. That's what attracted me to gaming in the first place.

Is UnbreakableVow stating that he has no inner child?
I actually loved the look and feel of the game, which is odd, 'cause normally I don't care for Ghibli's style
But goddamn
Goddamn that game is a snoozefest
Then don't play a sequel.
Seriously it's really quite amazingly rude to ask that a game not be made because you wont play it. Can't you just let people who like the game to their thing and wander off to the games you do like without tearing down everything behind you?
Morninglord on
(PSN: Morninglord) (Steam: Morninglord) (WiiU: Morninglord22) I like to record and toss up a lot of random gaming videos here.
So PS4 confirmed for worldwide simultaneous launch? If there was going to be a region with a delay, it would have been Europe. Good to know we don't have to wait six months again.

I adored Ni No Kuni, but I completely see how it would not be someone's thing at all. Hopefully they chuck out the "Give/Take Heart" mechanic or make it an actual puzzle mechanic for a possible next game, that stuff was crazy tedious if you made yourself do it.
I just found out that War Thunder is going to launch on the PS4 as a F2P, cross-platform game and might utilize the PS Eye for head tracking. And they're adding the ability to play ground units soon, too. That might actually move a system for me.

Not sure why he didn't repost it here. It's probably fake as well, but it reminds me of the swipes Sony took at Microsoft over Kinect when that and Move had just been announced. The whole buttons thing.
I know it will be the middle of the day for you Americans, but if any are interested in the Champions League final tonight there's going to be a huge ad at halftime for the PS4.
I mean, I'm watching for the football but it's something to watch out for if you're not interested in the sport. I've heard talk of it being a 5 minute showcase type thing but expect something more akin to those Cantona Nike ads of yesteryear.
Note: Sony have sponsored the champions league since forever. So this isn't some new push.

Honestly though, that would be an absolutely fantastic ad and I really think they should go for something like that.
I highly disagree. I hate, HATE advertising based around attacking others, and Sony needs to be humble for the next few months. Let the games and the system speak for itself.

Also, Jonathan Blow talks PS4 and The Witness:

A whole bunch.
Think Sony will pony up to make sure their system gets it first? If so, will it be a timed exclusive or released same day on Steam?

Europe is the new battlefield between Sony and MS. Sony has had a strong foothold there forever and I think MS sees that.
Japan has also become way less important than in previous years (was there any japanese presence in either of the console announcements?)
Good lord, get over it.
If it means no Dark Cloud 3
Then no

Fair enough. I meant no snark, if it came off that way.
Snugglesworth posted up a far punchier one, though, in another thread.

Edit: Aaand fake. Still, pretty funny.
Dark Cloud 3 - Oedipus mode overdrive. Puts the Dark Cloud 2 protag to shame.
