It is smash bros praise the lord. Sakurai walks out and Trinen voice overs some polite translation but Sakurai was just laughing for 5 minutes maniacally

I think third-party adds would be a good thing to dangle in front of the third parties as an incentive to get on board. Anyone that makes the roster is going to experience a surge in popularity.
What third-party publisher could use a popularity boost right now? EA.
What EA character would benefit the most from a declaration of Warning: Challenger Approaching? Faith. Cult hit property, it would bring a big boost to Mirror's Edge 2, and besides, you look at Faith, she's basically a Smash Brother already; she's just not on the roster. You put five seconds of thought in and you've got her whole moveset right on down to recovery moves. You put zero seconds of thought in and you know her stage is the next Saffron City/Fourside just waiting to happen.

Never gonna happen. Sakurai is adamant that the roster only include characters that have appeared on nintendo consoles or are iconic in someway

As far as characters go, I really think that we'll lose Marth, Ike (I really want him to stay, but I don't think it'll happen), Snake, Lucas, and Wolf...not sure who else.
I think (hope) we get "Marth", Jeff, Krystal, Waluigi, Shulk, Chrom (If Ike must go), Little Mac, and Mike (Star Tropics for the obligatory classic addition).

Really nice to see Mega Man getting some Smash Bros love from Nintendo. Really miss that period of awesomeness where we were getting Mega Man 9 and 10 and then Inafune left and they brutally murdered poor Mega Man Universe and Legends 3 in the crib.
The series has officially now become complete for me.
I guess it's safe to assume Sonic will be back. His next game is WiiU exclusive so it seems Sega and Nintendo will continue to consummate their forbidden love.

Not a lot of Mario characters are that badass.

And Mario's a plumber that runs through shit covered pipes and sewers in his spare time with a girlfriend that refuses to go steady despite him saving her enough times to be some sort of world record.
Sadly, everybody in Mario Land is living pretty crappy lives.
PlayStation All Stars had far too much advertising the future than celebrating the past. I wouldn't want that happening in SSB.

I think we'll get three third party characters this time, and that's fine. Mega Man, I'm sure Sonic will be back, and I'm guessing since Namco is heavily involved, Pac-Man will be added.
The rest will be the same mix of classic, new, and just strange that only Sakurai can come up with. I love the way his mind works...I mean if two days ago you told me one of the characters I would most want to play was the Wii Fit trainer, I would have slapped you with a salmon and called you crazy.
