    L_A has indicated via IRC that he'd like to use the Advantage to activate a Critical Injury

    Critical Injury: 1d100+10 55

    55 - Fearsome Wound. Increase difficulty of all Presence and Willpower checks by one until the end of the encounter.

  • XaviarXaviar Registered User regular
    So we are not using the critical injury vs minion = death rule?

  • jdarksunjdarksun Struggler CORegistered User regular
    Oops! If that's a rule, I missed it. Where's it at?

  • XaviarXaviar Registered User regular
    We're using the beta book for critical injuries, right?

    Minions are killed by Critical Injuries. If a minion suffers a Critical Injury, it immediately is incapacitated. If a group of minions suffers a Critical Injury, it suffers one minion's worth of wounds (thereby incapacitating one minion).

    Thanks dude!

    The Trandoshan made quick work of the thug, jerking out the vibroknife as the creature slumped to the ground.

    VEX-41 flails another Stun Grenade towards the Gammorean engaged with the Wookie.

    [2eA=-, A] [1eD=Th/Th]
    Whyyyyy.

  • jdarksunjdarksun Struggler CORegistered User regular
    This one seems to be a dud, as it doesn't go off at all. Irritated, your central processor pulls up all files on stun grenade purchases, locations, vendors, and attempts to cross-reference them with that particular grenade's shape, size, weight, and other distinguishing characteristics. Such poor craftsmanship will not be tolerated.
    1Th -> 1 Strain

    Oblivious to the fact that the floor is littered by his compatriots, the remaining Gamorrean thug swings his cudgel at the Wookiee.
    Cudgelize Lowhhrick: 2eA+1eP+2eD: 3 (A/A, S/S) (S) (Th, Th)
    3S/-

    5 base damage + 3 success = 8 damage - 4 soak = 4 wounds / 18 wound threshold

    It's another solid hit, but all the Gamorrean seems to be doing is making the Wookiee mad.

    @Capfalcon or @Xaviar to finish off the remainder.

    Finish the Fight: 3eA+1eP+2eD: 0 (A, A, -) (A/A) (Th, Th)

    I think I can spend the advantages to loose some stress, right? First fight as free Wookie that Lowhhrick has had in a while.

  • jdarksunjdarksun Struggler CORegistered User regular
    @Capfalcon
    Yup, you can use your 2A to Recover 2 Stress.

    I guess I'll burn a destiny to upgrade my attack..
    Holdout blaster into engaged.: 1eP+1eA+2eD: 2 (S/S) (S/S) (F/Th, F)
    Which is 7 damage plus 1 strain if I figured right?
    Mathus takes a deep breath, focusing, before he takes aim, then fires.

    Yup!

    2S/1Th
    5 base damage + 2 success = 7 damage - 3 soak = 4 wounds < 6 WT, target remains standing

    1 Th -> 1 Strain

    The Gamorrean squeals as Mathus' shot takes him between the shoulders, but the porcine pugilist manages to keep his feet.

    Top of the round - @A Dabble of Thelonius @Capfalcon @Xaviar or @Lord_Asmodeus to go.

    Skrask snarled with predatory glee as he stepped over the bodies of the other Gamorreans to finish off the wounded boar.
    Making Porkchops: 2eA+1eP+2eD: -1 (-, A/A) (S/A) (F/F, Th)

    spoilers, I fail. Can I still use my advantages to take away stress or grant roll bonuses?

    @Lord_Asmodeus
    You certainly can. EotE is all about failing forward.

    Then I will remove 1 strain and provide 1 boost die to the next guy in line

    I will go if y'all want me to, but I was going. To give someone else a shot recover stress.

    I thought Lowwie should go before they get another round, what with them being close and all.

    Lowhhrick rears back and, quicker than anyone can blink, cuts it down right on top of the Pigman's head.
    Finish this fight (For real): 3eA+1eP+2eD: 2 (S/A, A, S/S) (S/S) (F/F, F/Th)

    Not really sure what to do with the advantages.

    (S/A, A, S/S) (S/S) (F/F, F/Th)
    5S/2A/3F/1Th -> 2S/1A

    base damage 7 + 2 successes = 9 damage - 1 (3 - 2 pierce) soak = 8 wounds
    4 wounds + 8 wounds = 12 wounds > 6 wound threshold, target incapacitated
    The Gamorrean collapses, falling to the ground in heap.
    The Gamorreans are defeated! The silence that follows is broken by slow, unamused applause. The Devaronian bartender approaches and laughs a little laugh. "I guess you're the folk who need to get off the planet in a hurry. The good news fro you is that I happen to know that there's a freighter in Landing Bay Aurek right now. The bad news is that its captain, Trex, is an associate of the Hutt's and won't just let you on. The other bad news is that the reason I know it's still in the landing bay is that it has a broken hypermatter reactor igniter and won't be flying anywhere until it gets a new one installed. I bet Vorn over at the junk shop has one." Then he points at the door. "Thanks for the floor show. Now get out of my cantina."

    GM's Sidebar: Recovering Strain at the End of an Encounter
    Congratulations, you completed an encounter! Now what? Well, first, you get some strain back equal to your Presence score or your ranks in the Cool skill - whichever is higher.

    Next, you guys decide what you want to do. The map has been changed back to the overview of Mos Shuuta. Where do you want to go? What do you want to do?

    @A Dabble of Thelonius, @Capfalcon, @Lord_Asmodeus, and @Xaviar to decide.

    Lowhhrick puts his ax onto his back and quickly heads out the door. After everyone moves outside into a nearby alley, Lowhhrick voices his plan, "We need to get off the planet as quick as possible. We get the ship a new Hypermatter Reactor Ignitor, trade it for a ride off the planet. If he doesn't want to trade, we knock him out, install the reactor, and take the ship. Any other ideas need to be quick. The Hutt's probably already got more thugs looking for us." The Wookie then falls silent and keeps his eyes on the alley entrance.

    GM's announcement: there's some inactivity in the two threads, enough so that I'm probably going to collapse the two groups into one. We still have plenty of people to keep the game going forward.

    If you have objections, please voice them now. Silence implies consent.

    VEX stops fiddling with his remaining stun grenades long enough to voice his assent.

    "The wookie's plan is reasonable. If this Trex doesn't feel cooperative, I assure you I can install that drive with ease."

    Turning to the bartender he sketches a slight bow. "Your drinks should be 1.7% colder. I will forgo payment in exchange for your delaying anyone that come here looking for us."
    I'm fine with that. I should be back on track for posting, but if there's a more prolific VEX in the other group I can bow out or switch or what have you.

  • CapfalconCapfalcon Tunnel Snakes Rule Capital WastelandRegistered User regular
    I'm fine with whichever.

    Skrask stores his knife in one of his pouches, though he keeps his hands close to the vibro-knife, and his metal punch-blade (Brass Knuckles). He speaks in Dosh, perhaps a subtle jab at the Wookie... or perhaps out of habit. It's hard to say. "This Trex... he is T'doshok is he not? Perhaps he will be more willing to help his kin." then Skrask shrugs "and if not, I can always kill him. A T'doshok slaver is worth many jagannath points, especially if he is a successful slaver." Skrask licks his forked tongue over his teeth.

    He turned to the others in the group

    "VEX, you have worked here longer than I have, and as mechanic. Perhaps you know where we could find the Hypermatter Reactor Ignitor? Or, perhaps Mathus knows?"

    Lowhhrick refused to let himself be baiting into asking what had just been said and stalked off towards the scrap shop. No point in standing around.
