yeaaah, the challenges aren't always the most thought out, but hopefulyl it'll be better for season 2. I really enjoyed the talking heads and seeing everyone actually interact with eachother! What I've really been missing is seeing them actually living in the house, having conversations.
Yeah, it feels weird that we have not really gotten a chance to see the artists interact and become friends despite all of the canned interview stuff about it
Nope. I think it's a... special project, I just don't want to defile Akira like that. Not that I think people who are doing it have the wrong intentions, I would just feel like I was doing something bad if I did it.

Yeah I suppose I didn't really have that going in, I've never read akira before but I've always wanted to so I thought it would be a good time to do it.
I kind of can't get over how good it is! I know everyone's been telling me it is like my whole life but they didnt tell me it was THIS good! Haha
Guys, stop wearing fedoras. It doesn't look good. You are not Humphrey Bogart. Its a stereotype now, and not a good one: http://lonelynerdsinfedoras.tumblr.com/
Who listens to podcasts? I'm working through too many of them now, and sort of fell off some of my old ones. Heres my current list:
Things I listen to:
Never not funny
Keith and the Girl
Smodcast
Giant Bomb
Gamers With Jobs
Legacy Music Hour
Stuff You Should Know
Radio Lab
NYC crime report (guilty pleasure)
Also... I watch alot of Game Grumps
Things I used to listen to and dont anymore:
WTF with Marc Maron - Got bored with the heavy nature of the show, I think. If I see a name I'm interested in, I will listen, but its rare now.
Nerdist- I only listen to the hostful podcasts.
Girl on Guy- I guess maybe I dont like interviews. Same thing, I look for names I know.
Drunken Gamers radio- Its no longer about games
Stuff You Missed in history class- I find the hosts alittle boring and flat
Doug Loves Movies- Its too messy and incoherent sometimes. I tend to get lost.
Savage Love- I just feel like I know what dan is going to before he says it. Its fun every now and then.
Anyone have any suggestions based on those? I know that between this and music recommendations it must seem like I consume content through an IV. I have a short attention span, no cable, and I dont really watch alot of movies, so I burn through this stuff super fast. I watched the majority of gamegrumps in a week or two, and I'm just like, "goddamn it".
8-4 Play is a good counterpoint to Giant Bomb, from a Japanese perspective. It's on the Giant Bomb website.
Welcome To Night Vale isn't like any other podcast, but you should give it a shot. It's formatted like a community radio station, but with a strong lovecraftian horror vibe.
I used to listen to TAL, and Occasionally I hear it while driving around. A while ago it seemed like I was hitting a lot of repeat stories, or extremely long political ones, and so I fell off a bit. I listen to NPR in the car so I don't really feel the need to hit it up in podcast form anymore.
I forgot about my brother my brother and me, I'll put that into rotation. The others seem cool too, thanks!

Reasons I wear a fedora occasionally:
my hair does nothing interesting cover burn scar on forehead so I don't get skin cancer
can't wear baseball cap to anything you want to be taken seriously at
old people talk to me about how gentlemen always used to wear hats
generally more comments on physical appearance than when not wearing one
an inside joke about the fanfara bersaglieri
Reasons I bought a fedora 7 years ago:
I heard the silent call of lonely nerds everywhere?
(I would posit that buying an attention-grabbing hat is a common move for people desperately trying to be cool, which is why I bought one in high school and why it is a lonely nerd magnet. Interestingly, when I studied in Korea it was also super-common, though cabbie hats or flat caps were the lonely-nerd-hat of choice.)
Reasons I can no longer wear a fedora:

dawning realization that people may perceive me as a raging misogynistic douchebag and lonely nerd
Ultimately it is a personal choice in fashion that people can judge however they want. At least wearing a fedora isn't going to bar me from employment like certain piercings or tattoos; no matter what hat I wear I'm going to be judged as something.
i.e.
beanie - hipster
trucker hat - redneck
top hat - even lonelier and nerdier

these are all awfulllll reasons
you can wear/dress/present yourself in so many better ways that will have better results than this
wear your hair better, style, product, attention. Take some time on it.
wear sun screen I guess?
nobody will take you seriously wearing a fedora anyways
stop talking to old people ive heard they smell bad, besides, you'll note they said 'used to'. Now gentlemen wear not-hats and this isn't the 50's.
comments on your physical appearance aren't always a good thing
You can dress snappy and nice and age appropriate and sexy. I believe in you. Just. Just stop wearing hats altogether.
Reasons you can no longer wear a fedora:
Because you could do so much better. Go to a nice store. Buy some nice clothes. Wear stuff that makes you feel good and get the positive attention you want without having to resort to a gimmick like a fedora.
Can I wear one of those or are you gonna blanket my village with white phosphorous?
It's possible, but you need to really werk it. I have witnessed it succeed, but it's a dangerous maneuver, much like trying to make suspenders work. The thing with it, is that 90% of the time, even if you look actually really do look GOOD with a flatcap or a newsie or whatever else, chances are you'd look even better without it.
at least thats how i feel about hats
but I am nearly positive that if you took a pic of yourself wearing your favourite hat, then a pic of yourself without it, you'd probably look better without it, even if you do look like a cutie with it.
My hat rack is starting to look a little thin, in that case. I feel like my miniature gothic lolita hat is a little too flashy to wear in my day-to-day

Bowler? Porkpie? Homburg? Deerstalker?
I think I read somewhere that the tiger had eaten some people around a village and that's why they went hunting for it. Poor elephant.
Eh, mine is too casual-looking to wear with a suit.

Interruptible is my favorite episode so far.
And I'm sure you've heard of This American Life
Freakonomics Radio is good.
Seconding This American Life.
NPR's Planet Money is good if you're stupid like me and don't know much about finance or economics and want to know more about what the hell is up.
