Man I'm starting to realize that I need to stop taking on so many side projects. I just get backed up so ridiculously with my full time job and part time job that my time management goes all to hell.
Really all it takes is avoiding jeans, t shirts and the whole ragamuffin look. I wear collared shirts, vests, smoking jackets and the like because I work at a cigar shop, also most places I go are cigar lounges (which tend to be classy). I dress like that all the time anyway, so the hat fits just fine.
But, not to put too fine a point on it, this is not a fedora. It's a fucking trilby. Ok?
I like to wear caps, my wifes hates all of them. She claims that I look like im 12 years old.
Granted, even with a beard you look 12.
Without you look six.
@MagicToaster: You could probably get away with the caps, if you stopped wearing OshKosh B'Gosh overalls and carrying a slingshot in your back pocket.
In other news, GeoGuessr. (I know this has been mentioned before, but I didn't spend any time with it before.)
At first I thought it was cool.
Then I thought it was boring, because it was largely impossible.
Then I discovered you could move around to get better views of road signs.
Then I spent 2 hours trying to figure out things like tracking down Bennigan's locations in Seoul.
This is basically The Last Starfighter for people who want to be CIA image analysts.
Maybe I'm the only one who spent a lot of time watching Clear and Present Danger and thinking that looking at a bunch of images to figure out the explosion was caused by a
CELLULOSE ENCASED LASER GUIDED BOMB
was the coolest thing ever, but doing this same sort of (admittedly, in this case completely pointless) detective work is somehow really satisfying.

i just spent half an hour following what passes as a highway in russia, going towards a place called kyprah. google apparently knows very little about russia and this was the only site i could find mentioning it. however their mapping of the area stopped when i was still 250km~ away, so i gave up, it turned out i was near a place called kopeysk near chelyabinsk but had gone the wrong way. not that i think i would have worked it out anyway.
I'm selling my Apple monitor because I need to make room for my daughter's bed. Who is in Japan and wants it?
Kids these days... When I was a kid we didn't get fancy things like beds. We just had to sleep on top of our Apple Monitors and we liked it because that's what was given to us.

Really not doing a good job of ridding me of the misconception that all Japanese apartments look like this.
SS
I enjoyed this episode. The PA crew has a great comedic presence, like they all form one homogeneous comedy unit, with each person contributing their specific quality. It would be amazing to work in an office like that.
I'm looking at the prize
"This cartoonist will win a cash prize along with integration into the Penny Arcade machine. That means a studio in our office but it also means access to our business people, our merchandising operation, our designers, and our ping pong table. The winner will get plugged into the Penny Arcade family for one year."
What I'm curious about is how they're going to let go of the artist in 1 years time. They don't seem like the type to detach a part of themselves once stuck. Like some kind of katamari ball of talent.
I think the people competing definitely are the ones I saw competing at the point, and I think the 3 not picked will most likely be of the final three.
Of the three it really is a tough call
I enjoy Maki's humor the most, he has a light hearted artistic style that works very well in comic form.
I think Katie has been an unstoppable beast this entire competition. Everyone so far (including her) has feared the wrath of Lexxy but Katie has consistently nailed competitions. Plus she is lightning fast in her ability to create very finished art.
Lexxy will definitely face a challenge against her in how much she can get done by the end of a 90 minute competition. I think given unlimited time however Lexxy would out perform her in quality, and concept. If the competition allowed for the final face off between them (although Maki could easily be there) and if the competition allowed for an increased time frame as most other reality shows do in the final, than they will be lending to Lexxy's abilities.
If not then Lexxy will really have a fight on her hands.
Ohhh mannn am I looking forward to this elimination! I hope those two are on the top of their game because I think they have the potential to be the funniest comic writers of the bunch. Don't get me wrong, all of their art is great, but Tavis and Abby have a certain skill of turning out a joke in the best way possible. Good ep, lots of funny banter.
Because we're drowning in so much debt and daily expenses that we can't afford to spend on the mark up of books that are necessary to successfully run a book store in what looks like an abandoned castle over the reduced cost of buying it online.
We also have a severe deficit in abandoned castles.
Every time I tune into a conference, I think "Its not going to be a bunch of buzz words that will make me bored" and then A dude from EA comes out and is all "Sports. streaming. Living worlds. Technology. Innovation. Connected, persistent. Online. Mutual. Beneficial. Entertainment. Dynamic Forefront. New. Smart."
ugg, I know! I didn't even know E3 or whatever thing was happening and I stumbled upon ign randomly as the unveiling started and thought, "Oh Cool. I guess I'll check it out!" watched for about five minutes and then they went all sports sports sports and I bailed.
I know it is their market but damn. As much heat as Nintendo takes for processing power, gimmicks, or being a kiddy games system at least they seem focused on it being a GAME SYSTEM. Not that it particularly matters to me, I don't have the time or money to spend on any of them, just saying.
Well if you missed the first ten minutes then you missed them focusing on it being a fancy cable box. Its not E3, though, that happens in june, this is just an reveal. Every one wants their shit on the table before e3.
The new Microsoft box is supposed to be unveiled today too right? That'll be cool, my next "console" is probably just going to be a steam box anyways - having a hard time justifying another console at this point with everything I've gotten and will be able to get on steam. The sales, oh god the sales.
They already said that this wasn't a games focused conference, they are saving those guns for e3. Probably smart, because they want to tell people that this is a box that will connect their living room all together and make sure that detail is out there. E3 time we should be seeing some titles and shit.
I actually appreciate that this conference was low key and there weren't any rock shows or anything in the middle. Honestly I wish that these conferences were just "Bitches, check out this spreadsheet. Microsoft, out *drop mic*"
You stopped knowing when E3 was probably when it became vendor only and not open for mass consumption.
Call of Duty Ghosts looks blah to me. It's harping about the graphics, and while they look decent, I wouldn't say I see much differentiation from what's out there. Also I know I'm in the incredible minority of xbox users, but I honestly don't give a shit about anything Call of Duty related.
So far the only thing it means to me is
1. I wonder if my shitty mom and pop cable service will enable me to use the new xbox.
2. Hmm, I guess I have more of slightly more reason to buy blu-ray now since, I never watched them in the past because I never felt like starting up another system. Although it'll still be pretty useless to me since my TV is 720p.
Pretty cool the new kinect comes with it but it's kinda shitty that old 360 and xbla games can't be played on it.
I know nothing of the tech side of things but in my head transferring xbla games over doesn't seem like the hardest thing to do?
Edit just saw SS:
Katie Rice, what a sweetheart
Should be a good elimination
They sure spent a lot of time focusing on making it easier for people to navigate between things. I guess I'm not much of a "channel surfer". I tend to put something on and watch it through rather than switching back and forth every couple of seconds. Pushing a button once an hour isn't a real inconvenience.

I resolved awhile ago that I don't really slot into any core demographics that the consoles are evolving towards.
It's not even a elitism or console vs PC thing. Its nice that they're making things more convenient for someone, but it turns out my comprehensive multimedia entertainment hub is also the thing I do all of my work on and already own. The prospect of paying for a new thing, and then paying additional premiums on top of that to unlock services I ostensibly already paid other companies to provide, doesn't really leave me reaching for my wallet.

If you can actually succeed in looking as sharp as Humphrey Bogart or Jon Hamm, totally go for it.
But, not to put too fine a point on it, this is not a fedora. It's a fucking trilby. Ok?
whew, ok, glad I got that off my chest
I don't know how I ended up with a girl older than me. I would have sworn that I was going to keep on attracting teens till my 40's.

I'm out of it...
out of the loop...
Seriously, when did I stop knowing when E3 was? I saw people on a stage talking about vidga games and just assumed E3...
I wonder how much it cost to hire all those seals in the audience...
