Watching the second episode now and I think it's just the weird dubbing that they had to do for him. When it's his original speaking, it's not too bad.
Yeah he had to dub over some parts because of first day audio issues. I'd hold off on that anthrax laced sonic screwdriver prop.

Yeah, one thing that makes this different from other reality shows is that typically people who apply to be on reality shows are attention-seekers, but cartoonists tend to be introverts. I expect things will get more interesting once the contestants get to know each other.
Also, the producers seem to be trying to show the contestants' actual personalities rather than editing things to turn everyone into caricatures.

The first group challenge should have just been everyone getting hammered. That is like icebreaker 101.
Or the best way to make the entire rest of the thing super awkward, but that's the risk you take.

Episode 2: A bunch of cartoonists meet in a giant house and get smashed.
Episode 3: Most awkward morning ever as everyone realizes they're stuck in the same house with the people they just hooked up with in episode 2

but that's already the basic premise of The Real World, Road Rules, Jersey Shore, Real Housewives of Buttsville...
Does anyone else find the shots of all the contestants at the start of each episode really awkward to watch?
So many of the smiles seem forced and it bothers me a little.
No one feels more awkward about this than the actual artists themselves. Trust me.
I'm surprised they let them linger so long? If they cut the amount of time they spend on each contestant in half it'd have some nice momentum and wouldn't focus so uncomfortably long on everyone's cold and tired smiles.
If her tumblr is any indication, she *is* an earthbender.
ahahahahah
Lexxy this is the image I will now picture you as for always. Someone give you grief on the show? Bam. Bam. Double deuce and bend a few couches into that person.
Oh man, Lexxy's earthbender tumbles were the best. What was the other one?
Would buy a Strip Search Self-Bender Book.
Actually, I think it would be pretty sweet if PA put out a Strip Search Art Book featuring work from all the contestants. (original work, y'all don't have to peddle pop-culture stuff.)

True, but she didn't have to be such a dirk about it.

It was cyanide but fiiiiiiiiine.
Nothing to see here.
I've been trying to think of a phrase where I can use cinquedea as a pun for the last hour.
I'm sorry to disappoint you.
They say "jump," we say "how many times you want us to stab this dude?" If you're in it to win it, you don't question your instructions.

They cgi those smiles in in post
Obvious spoilers therein.
No panelists announced at the moment, but if you guys want to ask questions in your stead at said panel, and I'll see what I can do.*

Of course, most of these people make delightful drawings, so.

if that weren't obvious enough from my bits in today's ep hahah.
You could run one hell of a moving business if you got a couple furniture benders together.
