Need I say more?

Okay then.

Only $8 on the E-shop, arguably the best $8 you'll ever spend.

Aside from one evil part in Chapter 2, I loved it from start to finish.

The dream-team has still got it.

Here's some screens:

This game has become my go-to "play for 10 minutes every day" game. The combat is really fun. I do wish the game explained the status effects and such, I am getting tired of having to look online whenever I find something new.

It's on sale ATM for $4.99 btw. I just bought it myself.

I definitely recommend the game. The music, as observed is awesome. It is very much a game of you playing against a DM/GM.

I just got this on my 3DS yesterday and just gave it like 30 minutes of play. Not enough to go beyond the introduction but I enjoyed what I played.

    Any tips for a newbie?

I just made it past the minotaur and have been introduced to melding. It's complicated.

A sci-fi Crimson Shroud would be lovely.

I've seen this game mentioned once in a yearly review wrap-up on some site or other. The only criticism it received was that it was too short, like... 5 hours. Is there truth in that? I'd love to grab it, because it appeals on every level, but if it's so short, eeeeenh...

I got it for 5 bucks and it's supposed to be 5-8 hours.

But the game allows for NG+.

It's a neat game, but the ending is terrible. Like... surprisingly terrible. When I beat it, there was no info online about the NG+ having a different ending (likely because no one cared about it), so I didn't bother running through it again completely. From this thread, it sounds like there is a difference? If anyone wants to elaborate via spoilers, go ahead.

I'm skeptical. The team involved are basically a bunch of unknowns. And it doesn't have the Matsuno Dream Team without a stretch goal? Yeah, not that excited.

This feels like a cash grab to me. "Let's put Matsuno's name on an RPG thing! Watch the money pile up!"

    Is Matsuno writing the story?

Is it set up to basically be the entirety of the Ogre Battle saga revolving the expansion of the Holy Lodis Empire under a different name? It is?

    They're getting my money.

Please tell me you aren't falling for this hype. The more I read into it, the more this seems like a disaster in the making.

The 'director' was formerly with 'Incinerator Studios', responsible for the following RPG epics.

    Cars - Wii (2006)
    Cars Mater-National Championship - Wii, PS3 (2007)
MX vs. ATV: Untamed - Wii, PS2 (2007)
Nicktoons: Globs of Doom - Wii, PS2 (2008)
    Cars Race-O-Rama - Wii, PS3, X360, PS2 (2009)
    Star Raiders - PS3, X360, PC (2011)[3]
    Nicktoons: Vikings of Hate - Wii U, PS4 (2014)

These aren't RPG developers. They're mobile developers who asked Matsuno to give them a concept knowing they can use his name to rake in the dough.

    Sadly, they're probably right.

Sorry, man. It wouldn't matter if Square themselves had the audacity to make this Kickstarter and announce the exact same stretch goals while assigning it to the team that was responsible for porting FFV to iOS and nothing else; they brought on Matsuno and they have a scenario hook laid out that is very much the conflicts of the Zeteginian Empire, Holy Lodis Empire, and tributary kingdoms all in one game, with a story structure that is very much like the Ogre Battle saga's.

They are a small, raw developer that has previously only been able to get work making licensed product, most of that being tabletop games. And I don't care.

Matsuno signed up with them. He's making a game that I am on the record in the past saying I would drop $200 to get the chance to play (I did not drop that much tonight).

It's over; it's done. Time to roll the dice and see how they land in a couple of years.

Project Update #2: Addressing Your Concerns and Party Creation Information
    Posted by Playdek

Hello everyone! We wanted to take this time to clear up two common concerns we are seeing about this game to help clear up the air.

The first is in regards to which game this Kickstarter is actually for. While we will have multiple games coming out set in the world of Rasfalia that Yasumi Matsuno is creating for us, this Kickstarter campaign is solely for the Tactical RPG game. The card game we are creating will serve as a prequel to the tactics game and is already being developed with a separate budget and this development will not hinder the development of the tactical RPG. We decided to offer this card game in specific reward tiers as an additional thank you for backing, however it will also be made available for purchase at a later time for those who wish to own it.

Secondly we have seen a lot of concern that we are trying to take a mobile game and port it to PC if we are successful. This assumption is incorrect.

When we originally announced this partnership with Yasumi Matsuno back in September the idea was to bring it out for iOS and Android devices, however we saw a lot of people asking us to bring this game out for PC and Mac (as well as PS Vita and Nintendo 3DS). In order to do this we turned here to Kickstarter. If funding is met you are not going to see an obvious mobile game trying to make its way onto your PC or other device. This game will be a fully realized game, in scope and graphics, worthy of the PC and handheld platforms at the very least, and in no way is a port of a mobile version.

Now that those have hopefully been cleared up, we have some game play information for you! We have been seeing a lot of people asking about how the party system will work and whether or not you will be able to level characters and take them with you while you play through the different episodes/scenarios.

In the game you will be able to obtain new characters throughout your travels and you will be able to build these characters up by leveling and by equipping new items. You will also be able to unlock new classes within specific professions in order to find the perfect balance for your party. These characters will be able to join you in your party as you play through the game. The story flow and scenarios allow for these characters to be involved in many events throughout the timeline, and you will be making the tactical choices of which characters to level and use.

Thanks for reading and we will continue to answer your questions and reveal more information in future updates!

Every developer with a resume like this is filled with guys who are sick of the quality trade offs in making licensed games, and desperate for a chance to make something that's THEIRS and prove themselves.
There are plenty of studios with resumes like this who have turned around and put out something amazing. Just off the top of my head, check what Next Level Games did before Luigi's Mansion 2. "From the makers of the Captain America game" certainly isn't a line that would get anyone to trust them, but they stepped up and did one of the best games Nintendo's put out lately.
They could probably stand to clarify just how involved Matsuno is, but the studio history isn't a real strike against them in my book.

I'm stuck at the second area. I need to find a key but I don't where to find it.

Yeah writing people off because they worked on licensed games are whatever is pretty stupid and shows a lot of ignorance both of people and the game industry. Not everyone who enters the industry gets to work on their dream jobs right away or maybe even ever, and most have to work their way up to get leverage to work on what they want. That doesn't mean they aren't talented/should be written off.

    Are you the magic man?

Yeah, that one design decision changed it from "recommend to any RPG fan" to "recommend to people with high BS tolerance."
