So in the next couple years I really want to adopt a fashion of monochromatic outfits based on the day of the week. Something like: Monday: Blue, Tuesday: Green, Wednesday: Yellow, Thursday: Purple, Friday: Red, Saturday: Brown, Sunday: Black. They'd have to be somewhat subtle in ways so I could still attend meetings.

But I honestly want to be known around a university as Professor Rainbow.

I guess it's tough to nail down exactly what I mean if put on the spot. Well fitted. Odd colors and combinations of fabric. Scarves and other accessories even when unnecessary. Casual, but has elements of fancy, a good clash is interesting. Layers. I suppose it would be an amalgam of the three photos you posted, which just proves your point. I still don't have a word for if though!

I've also never really understood the concept of wearing something ironically.

If it helps, I know exactly what you are talking about and I agree. I have always liked the fashion from people I would consider hipsters while I was in college.
