This not coming out on PC is going to be a great thorn in my side methinks. I am getting a PS4, but this is the kind of game my wife and I would play the crap out of together if we could play it on PC. Ah well, at least The Division is getting a PC version.
I forgot Oni, too, yeah, though that was Bungie West; the only thing ever done by Bungie West.
Point is, they started as a Mac shop, dipped a toe into PC, then got bought my MS and have been console-exclusive for what, 14 years now? They might not even WANT to release on anything not a console anymore...
IMO Microsoft probably will try to keep it off PC if they can because they want to use it as a way to sell Xbox. It's fine, but I don't play shooters on consoles, especially not ones with multiplayer that I'd want to play.
Microsoft has nothing to do with Bungie now. Destiny is published by Activision, who I honestly can't believe is not interested in selling this on PC for 60 dollars for the next 5 years.
Halo games have come to PC too I think. Maybe ported by someone else but still there. And Halo was originally a PC game wasn't it before Microsoft flashed the cash.

Halo:CE was originally a Mac and PC game, first unveiled at Mac World Expo 1999 by Steve Jobs. Microsoft then bought Bungie, and it became XBox Exclusive. Later, Gearbox would port it to PC. Halo 2 would be ported by "an internal Microsoft team".

As to Destiny getting the PC treatment, I feel that it is only a matter of time. Especially given how similar the next-gen consoles are to PCs. It shouldn't be too much effort to bring it over and they'll make all the more money from.
I know if I was given the choice I'd buy it for PC in a heartbeat.
A Capellan's favorite sheath for any blade is your back.
It's a shame Destiny won't be hitting PC right off the bat, but I will be buying the hell out of the soundtrack. Just the bits from trailers and ads are goooooood.
A few days ago, I actually found out that they have a few tracks up for download. You can find them on the Bnet, in the Destiny wing. You can get Eighth, Law of the Jungle, and the music they played in the ronut.
This time around we catch up with Dave Dunn, the head of the art department at the widely revered Bungie Studios. Dave recounts his 17 year journey with the studio, from fudging his way through the front door, to building the Halo empire piece by piece and most recently starting afresh with Destiny. But that's just the top line stuff - you'll have to listen to the whole thing if you want the juicy and potentially litigious stuff.

Beta Pro-Tip: Pre-Ordering Destiny doesn't bind you to a platform. It just earns you a Beta code. You can make your final choices later! Reserve your copy now. Take your place among the Guardians waiting to play in the Beta. You can choose your Destiny later.

Heck, back in the day Halo wasn't going to be a FPS. It was originally a RTS hybrid closer to Battlezone.

I think I'll go Hunter with a Scout Rifle, and a GL if it'll fit in my secondary, with a Sniper as my heavy. I'll probably rotate in a semi-auto or burst fire fusion rifle fairly often, as well as rockets if the job requires it, along with a shotty for when I need it or just want it.

Bungie just wants to take advantage of the closed platforms so people don't go checking .DLLs and game files 'cuz spoilers and secrecy.

Has Bungie ever released a game on PC? Ever?
*edit* Marathon 2 hit PC, and I forgot they did the Myth games. That was the last time; no, Halo:CE doesn't count, Gearbox did the PC Port.
Marathon was made for Mac at the time. I'm not sure if it saw life on Windows.

For me though I'm not a fan of Halo's gameplay. I'm a PCer though so I have time to see what happens.
Anyway, have we talked about what classes we want to use yet?
I really need to know more about the differences between the classes, and play as them for a while, before I can make a final decision.

We know little of their abilites. The warlock has a magical grenade. What else?

I want either the class with the biggest LMG-type weapon, or a stealthy sniper type of class.
Nothing in between
