Bungie forum support actually got in touch with me via PM about the clan name display issues and said they have top people on it.
I'm positive that nobody really cares, and I hope I'm not annoying anyone by continually bringing it up. I just want to iron it out so that we can be the Nicest Guardians. And display the [NICE] tag correctly in our post-Crucible stat screens.
Edit: Does anyone happen to have a screenshot saved to the PS4 of a post-Crucible stat summary screen with the [NIC] tag displayed? Bungie wants to see it.
Where does this tag even appear? I don't think I have even ever seen it at all. I looked around to see if maybe I had to turn it on in game, couldn't find anything.

I've seen it show up in post game results, but if could be wrong.

It only appears in the post-match results in the Crucible, next to your name. That's the only place. You might have to tap the trigger to get over to a screen where you can see it - but I'm pretty sure it's right there on the main score screen.

I've seen it when you are grouped up and in orbit. It maybe have been waiting for the next Crucible match though.

Tell them to turn the Beta back on and I'll happily grab them one.

Ha - when I asked the Bungie rep how I should share the one shot that I did have of the group in orbit (since you can't attach photos to Bungie.net mail), he misunderstood me and was like, "You can take a screenshot with the PS4 Share feature! You should try it!" and I was like, "Hm, cool! I'll do it right now! Just turn the beta back on!"
Heads up: @ObiFett is in the process of putting together a super-organized spreadsheet for [NICE] membership. We'll share soon, and then you guys can double-check to make sure info is correct and also have a one-stop shop for PSN IDs/Xbox Gamertags. So @Elin, don't fret too much about the forum thread aggregating the names (though it's been helpful!).
So as someone who hasn't been keeping up with Destiny - in one sentence, what is this game? Early previews had it looking like Borderlands - chained areas, the loot pursuit, multiplayer drop-in, etc. But now reading through the thread it seems more of a PvP game?

It's what you described with PVP over there on the side in it's own little area.
Of course the day I am out of town it the day they do the carry over thing. Guess I'll be testing if I can remote play from my vita while in another state.
Carry over thing? What is this and how to I do it?

It's like borderlands mixed with phantasy star online story/explore/instance modes. Then there is the pvp which is like halo style matchmaking, which have WOW aspects such as reputation and rewarded currency you can use with factions to obtain mad loot.
I'm probably selling it short, but it's a real blast.
I cringe whenever someone mentions boarder lands. I know they mean it as a compliment but that game was so boring and repetitive to me. Where as I can run through these same 4 missions over and over. I can't wait for legendary to come back.
I also hope for a level 20, super hard version of each instance that is halo legendary difficulty even with Max level and great gear.

Halo + Borderlands is how I describe it to people. So far it hasn't failed to excite them.

Borderlands 2 with a full fledged side pvp system, and you can ignore either side completely.
get more specific:
clunkier mmo mechanic borderlands 2 with /no/ drop in for coop. you have to go to orbit and then restart your section, even if you are next to each other in the instance unpartied. PVP is a big as you make it and seperate. You will need levels and gear to do pvp types where your character level counts, but it is slowly obtainable through pvp alone.

I'm feeling the opposite. I feel aimless in pve in this game. A level 5 with the level 6 story mission unlocked, I was trying to get some experience, so I go to the only explore area open to me, and everything nearby starts at level 2. I'd rather be able to jump to level appropriate content. Also, the missions that I do see, I end up having to repeat over and over, I at least got some mild humor in borderlands. The pve mostly seems like free form world grinding from an older style MMO versus more carefully crafted experiences. I don't know whether to expect more in the final release.
It's a shame because just moving around in the world is so pleasing.

I don't mean it as a compliment, I mean the gameplay is set up remarkably similar to Borderlands. FPS, loot based, pick skills, explore around, multiple classes... they're very similar.

That's because Beta. The Final will have other planets to go to which will fill the "jump to your level" pretty easily.
As for Beta, just hop on your speeder and go to the Forgotten Shores, most stuff is higher level there.
Of course the day I am out of town it the day they do the carry over thing. Guess I'll be testing if I can remote play from my vita while in another state.

Play on Saturday, use the same account in the Final and you'll get some special emblems.

You can select a difficulty after you choose a mission. Playing on the hardest difficulty from the start, I got max level without repeating a mission and only going into explore mode for half a level. If you didn't want to touch explore mode at all, you would only have to repeat a single mission. I would hardly call that repeating over and over.
Getting to max level is going to be very fast in this game. I think it's going to be one of the biggest complaints at launch. It seems that you will be able to hit max level in 2-3 days, then progress through reputation and gear.

But there's no in game map is there? I either need a waypoint, or to remember the way, and it seems like that'll happen in each explore zone.
I do hope that story missions on other planets will give you all or nearly all the experience needed, it's having to search for filler that I'm not crazy about.

That's why they call them "Explore" levels; you have to Explore for the missions and things to find. If that's not fun, then by all means don't do them.
I think there's an ingame map, I used it once I know but usually I just use the Ghost and the mini-map indicator. That gets me to the mission points and the current mission objectives.

I've done basically no research into this game so I assume there will be multiple planets and moons and whatnot to go to all with their different maps. I do love the mechanics at play on Earth sometimes. Like, fight level 5 dudes and then walk through a cave near them and get blasted in the ass by level 20 ones.
and to describe this game in a sentence or less would be SPAAAAAACCEEEEE MARIINNNNNNNEEEEEES
and there's no map but there is a map tool inside of your skull called your brain that you can use to navigate.

Technically there is an in game map of all of the beta zones. It's just not one you access through the UI. In the second mission, you go down inside a bunker, near where you spawn in explore mode. You access a map on the wall. If you look closely, it shows all of the zones and paths. It even includes that level 20 hive area.

Both my Level 8 Titan and Level 4 Hunter loaded just fine.
