Hello. My name is Chief, and I am a netflix addict.
Having worked at a movie theater during most of high school, I became accustomed to watching movies for free whenever I wanted to. After I quit, I quickly realized that unless I found an alternative I would go bankrupt very quickly since I now have to pay every time I go to the theater.
In this sense, Netflix is like my own personal Jesus Christ. For $17.99 per month, I use the 3-out-at-a-time plan. There are no late fees and I get to watch pretty much whatever I want. The website is pretty swank, too- it has a very robust ratings/reviews system that is sort of like IMDB, minus the retards. On top of that, they are currently beta testing a "watch now" feature that allows you to watch streamed movies online.
The best value comes when you use the service to rent TV dvds. Since shows from HBO cost like $8,000 per season to buy, I save quite a bit of money.
Anyway, the website has a pretty neato friends feature as well. You can use it to recommend movies to your homies as well as view their current queues/ratings. Just go the "friends" tab at the website and click "invite friends", and copy/paste the link that appears (note that only subscribers can use this feature)
Here is mine:

If you are a user, copy/paste your own link. It's like a nerdy version of an old lady's book circle. Woohoo!

Dammit, you've sold out! You're such a disappointment.
I'm so thirsty
but luckily I've got an ice cold Sprite® right here. Boy, is it ever cool and refreshing!
Anyone want to talk about Sprite®?

Did you know that new Tampax Pearl® has the highest absorbency of any Tampax brand tampon to date?! It's true!
did you spell it that way on purpose?
totally...
and you wouldnt even need a soul or anything.
bro, id be so stoked
he was a hero to us all
You still love me though, right Dru? RIGHT!?
You're talking about Zoo, huh Chief? It's a documentary about Mr. Hands, dude. Come on! Who wouldn't be interested? Also, I'm a pervert. I saw a preview, promptly got grossed out, yet intrigued and decided I must see it all.
Incredible!
I wonder how many Tampax Pearls® it would take to absorb an entire can of cool, refreshing Sprite®!
Probably not that many, that's for sure! LOL
You lying whore. How can you say my tastes are magnificent if you don't even know what they are? Name 5 movies I really liked.
As I'm making a reference to the Sprite ad campaign of the same name.

I mean, even with the throttling bullshit they do, they're still the best rental outlet around.
Here's me.

From personal experience, I have found this to be a fabrication.
I started out on Netflix and then switched to Blockbuster for a while because I liked the idea of also getting a free in store rental each week. I quit after a couple of months because I realized their selection of movies is still absolute crap. So Netflix is still better for me.
My personal experience matches Chief's. At first the turnaround time was 2-3 days from when I put a movie in the mail. Now it's more like a week. They're still better than Blockbuster in my opinion because of the superior selection but it is frustrating.
Well....there's what, 50 or so netflix distribution centers? Last week I rented some movie that, while not hugely popular, is definitely not unheard of. It got shipped to me all the way from Hawaii. I live in Texas. How the hell could their not have been one copy of this movie somewhere in the continental united states
