Man, at 16 that is a STEAL. I have really been wanting to play that game. I really should not buy it though. I am getting married soon so I need to be saving my money. But $16! Grrrr, stupid having a life outside of video games, lol.
Man, I remember really liking Invisible War on the xbox, so I thought it would be worth picking up on the steam sale, but I am finding enjoying it now much more...difficult. I had to uninstall the hd texture pack since it added significantly to the load times and there are SO MANY LOADING SCREENS. Also that female Alex is the worst VA ever, I was going to play her for a change but I couldn't stand it.
Anyone play Killing Floor? I am about to purchase it I think and I was wondering if it is worth it to get the bundle. Are all of the dlc just cosmetic changes? And if so, how many customization options do you have? Thanks.
For anyone considering purchasing Lord of the Rings War in the North, it's been cheaper (but not by much, I think it was $5 at Green Man), the graphics are poor (character models are good, but the textures on everything else are borderline atrocious), the game is super linear, and its very clear it's a console port.
That's not to say it's a bad game, but I'd come in with low-ish expectations.
Both male and female Alex are terrible in Invisible War. An incredibly bland hero for an incredibly bland game.
Yeah.
JC Denton and Adam Jensen? They get some classy lines, and personality. You know something about them.
Denton's a patriot with a sarcastic streak (and possibly an unquenchable appetite for murder). Jensen's an honest cop with some major unresolved issues about his ex. (Also, he does NOT like the human skeleton)
Alex? Whole family dead, and he (or she) shows less emotion than most of us do at the game's interminable load screens.

The skins are all cosmetic, no customization besides choosing one and that's it.
The weapon DLCs, however, add some weapons to the game that are fun to use.

I like to think that because they had to be gender neutral for the entire game, they basically had to cut corners with any sort of specificities that would have made the character more interesting.
Because as we all know, every interesting character trait is either male or female. There is nothing interesting about a character that two genders can share.

I agree, but at least it sounds like the male Alex is actually trying. She reads her lines as if it were the phone book, although I'm glad to hear she's improved significantly.
I actually got tired of Adam's hoarse growling very quickly, it's like Christian Bale's Batman voice except you have to hear it the entire movie, and with all the strain he's putting on his vocal cords he can hardly manage more than a monotone half the time. But on the other hand, Human Revolution also does not have incredibly racist Asian VA, so I guess it all balances out.

Okay, now I have to say the most amazing thing about how gravelly Adam sounds.
Just a friendly reminder we have multiple Steam groups that forum regulars can join. Most of the groups allow to login as guests and if you aren't a Russian Spy™ and have a presence on the forums you should be able to get added.

Join the G&T Adventure team if you want to form up a game. PA Chat is for random conversations, occasionally they'll start talking about gaming but not often. G&T is more gaming focused, much more laid back and strict with offtopics at times. If stuff starts getting stupid the moderators will boot people who arent as polite, or go offtopic a few too many times. The other groups are good for random messaging people playing a game you like to say 'Hey, im from PA, want to do this multiplayer thing?'. If you open crimetime and see a couple guys playing payday, message them and ask if they have room.
CorriganX on Steam and just about everywhere else.
I'm in Wangs w/o Borders and the Chilvary group, but I could use an invite into the general PA group and the G&T group, now that the holiday hubbub is over.
Years...for years I've been searching for a Dungeon Keeper. I've played Dungeons which is cool, however NOT Dungeon Keeper, I've played Evil Genius which is awesome, but not quite Dungeon Keeper-y enough for me, there's another game that I'm forgetting now that disappointed me. Now, after all my searching, finally! hearing about the bugs, though, it's troubling. I'm very tolerant when it comes to bugs (despite people hating it, I thought Towns was a fantastic game and love it and am still playing it), so depending on what your appetite for bugginess is maybe it's not quite worth the price. To me, though...yeah, heaven.
Me too...unfortunately, I'm not sure Impire is it. I'll try and give it some more play time tonight if I can but two things stick out as being major departures from the Evil Genius/Dungeon Keeper style of game: First, rooms are built via patterns. You don't dig out a room and then 'tag' it as a nursery, or chicken coop like you would in DK. Instead, you pick the room pattern from the list, which has the same exits and is the same shape each time, and plop it down, so no crazy room/dungeon design for you!. Secondly, your minions are directly selectable as groups and controllable. It's led me to conclude that this isn't a 'god game', it's just a RTS with a dungeon skin, the rooms are your buildings, and the minions are your units.
Is the other game you forgot called Startopia? If not, you should give it a go. It is many years old now but lots of fun.

It definitely does take some departures away from Dungeon Keeper, it's just more in line with that golden game than others I have played. I haven't checked out Startopia,I'm going to go see it once I get home. The wallet's in an unfortunate lockdown for the next couple of months so I'm getting nothing other than, maybe, Nintendoland and definitely Monster Hunter Tri Ultimate, but I will eventually stabilize...I hope!

Yeah, it's by no means a good game but you can still have a lot of fun with it. We actually FINISHED it which says quite a bit for the thing.

Startopia's from 2001 and is made by ex-Bullfrog Employees at Muckyfoot. The same guys who did Dungeon Keeper. It might be tough to find these days but still is pretty fun. It plays the same as dungeon keeper (you have an isometric view, you build things and give general orders but don't have direct control over your units, have worker bots, etc). It takes place on several space stations, some of which are contested. You build attractions and stuff to attract visiting aliens to stay. You can then give some of those aliens jobs, like janitor, doctor, and security.

From a cursory look it almost looks like Creatures! I know it's not quite that, but man, it looks awesome. I stay the fuck away from GoG.com as much as I can, because I know that as soon as I go there, all my money will be gone instantly. I'm an old man who remember the good old days of games, when you had to work at it just to get them to work, spin some stupid paper wheel to get the game to activate, or read through the manual to find the last letter of the fifth word of the seventh line in the third paragraph...aw you kids have it so easy these days with your fancy graphics and ability to plug-and-play your games without having to retool your gamig rig <shakes cane> :P

Sweet, missed your first post. I bought it like 8 years ago along with DK 1 and 2 from like a shopper's drug mart or Blockbuster here in Ontario. They used to have these rotating display cases where they'd put up old games in those cardboard sleeves for like $5. It would always be stuff like Battle Chess, or 100 games of solitaire. Then one day I saw all the Bullfrog and Muckyfoot games. Grabbed em!

Steam Support is the worst. Seriously, the worst
Laura Bailey is also great. She's great in Nier.

Since I first mentioned it a couple days ago, there's been a rash of these reactions. I feel like I might have started an outbreak of Magical Diary purchases.
You're welcome, Steam thread!

Is that the spin-off of Farming Sim 2013?
Sweet, missed your first post. I bought it like 8 years ago along with DK 1 and 2 from like a shopper's drug mart or Blockbuster here in Ontario. They used to have these rotating display cases where they'd put up old games in those cardboard sleeves for like $5. It would always be stuff like Battle Chess, or 100 games of solitaire. Then one day I saw all the Bullfrog and Muckyfoot games. Grabbed em!
