So the gummerment is giving me back a relatively sizeable refund, and before all of it goes to bills and food and diapers and all that inane stuff, I figured some of it should go back to you fine people. This one's open to the Adventure Team (and it's my first giveaway through Steamgifts so bear with me if I fumble about).

So guys, has Steam been updating for you daily?

I think it was an issue on my installation, so I decided to uninstall Steam. Now, if I remember correctly, whenever you uninstalled Steam, it would leave your game folders alone. Or at least ask.

Well it went and instantly deleted everything. Like 140GB of games.

    ಠ_ಠ Running Recuva now...

I have been getting almost daily updates as well. I'd hazard a guess at Linux support issues, since it started around the time that went live and the updating screen switched to this weird new window in the Windows environment.

Beta updates have been pushed pretty regularly. One of the last one's said something about being the final patch before the push the beta to final so it might slow down now.

It used to be that if you participated in a Steam client beta and it ended, you'd have to opt in again when there was a new one. Now you stay opted in and will get all the beta updates. And the "restart to update" dialog finally displays the beta updates.

Been playing Miasmata the past few days (thanks to @TestSubject23) and its pretty great. Graphics are very appealing Haven't ran into any enemies yet, although I've seen a few dead people and the loading screen said to wave your torch in front of you to scare off bad guys...so I'm assuming there are enemies somewhere.

Just walking around the forest is fun as hell.

Hmmm... I don't think I was signed up for the beta updates, but maybe I was. Recuva at 60%, lots of files will be saved.

I would buy this so very fast. Especially if the (shitty) DLC is included.

What's with this massive surge of console ports being listed? Castlevania, Mortal Kombat, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Halo 3...

That is the hope. And with that art style, it could be heralded as one of the most gorgeous PC games yet.

I'd call it ironic, but who cares. If this opens up the door for MGS4, Reveangence, a re-release of the PC Silent Hill games...

Revengeance was already supposed to be on PC. Then Platinum came on board and nuked that idea. Which is why I expected LoS2's port to get cancelled any day now rather than seeing proof that it's likely actually coming.

Holy crap, the Steam installation process has become stupid. It's been so long since I've installed it.

Now you download a 1.5mb files, that launches the new Steam updater dialog, for a 110mb download. If your internet so much as hiccups during this, it will abort the download, and exit completely with a "Steam must be online to work" and you have to start from 0mb each time.

I don't know if it's my internet, but I'm navigating fine, except for this shitty installer that keeps losing connection.

I'm kind of glad that I didn't play much of the DLC, then. I bought the first one and played it a little bit, realized I had forgotten how to fight effectively, and quit because I was too lazy to relearn it at the time.

Arg! Saw the sale and I'm in a similar dilemma.

Back when it was released, it was the best RTS available, imo. More innovative than Dawn of War and better graphics. Online matches were mad fun.

Is there even anything like it today? I mean, a role-based RTS with where the standard way to play is 4v4?

But it required "Massgate" and not Steam... so if bought today... do you have to log into that service as well as Steam and will anyone at all be playing?

EDIT: My dilemma is compounded by the fact that I have the original DVDs somewhere... somewhere...

I tried playing World in Conflict a few months back. The campaign was so slow that I quit early on, by the 15th mission involving me using the same 3-4 units, I got tired of it kinda quickly. This was with the expansion.

Back when I bought it, I never even touched the singleplayer.

Multiplayer was where the innovative stuff was happening!

Taking on a support role and carpet bombing the battlefield, paving the way for the other players, was a complete blast.

Never seen anything like it in an RTS before or after.

So, I guess what I'm saying is, if the multiplayer is dead today, then you're sadly missing out on 90% of the game...

    Dear UPS,

Two boxes left your warehouse in NJ on the 12th traveling at 62mph to a delivery location 2542 miles away. Why is one arriving three fucking days earlier than the other?

    PS:

Obviously your logistics guy failed math and/or you have some cuntnuggets working in your warehouse.

New monitor shows up on Tuesday which will be great so I don't have to look at a screen divided by lines of dead pixels anymore, and then my KBAM arrives on Friday. Both shipped from newegg and left the same warehouse on the same day, and both were 3-day shipping.
