Get roommate small gift for V day?

SacriliciousSacrilicious Registered User regular
There's girl that's housemate, wouldn't want to worry her with something serious, just thinking something small. Don't know her terribly well but I guess if there's any girls that would weigh in about this kind of thing I'd be interested to hear thoughts. I dunno it would just be shitty if no one got her anything.

Thoughts on what would be nice simple gift?

My roommate made me a little red paper heart and bought me a little tin of hello kitty mints, but she's a total sweetheart like that and we've been close for 4 years

If there's no reason to get her a gift other than the fact that its vday I wouldn't worry about it. Unless you're her partner or a really close friend there's really no expectation to get something. Just a simple "happy vday! I hope your day was good today!" is enough

Some sort of yellow flowers. Yellow is indicative of friendship.

If you have a crush on her or vice versa this might be weird. Otherwise the rules are the same as in elementary school: get a cheap card with a cartoon character on it, tape a piece of heart shaped chocolate to it, and don't forget to give one to everyone to everyone in the class... that is, all of your housemates.

I wouldn't. Just saying happy valentine's day is enough.

And it seems like all is dying, and would leave the world to mourn

buy some chocolates after v-day for yourself and share them with her. cheap chocolate, and sharing, reduces chances of it being misinterpreted

    Well. That was interesting placement.

I think something cheap and small would be fine, and would not be weird.

Like a small valentines themed chocolate. It would convey the correct intent - friendliness, rather than romantic intent.

Robot Cupid does not tolerate potentially romantic intentions
