I haven't actually played Rock Band regularly in a long time, right now all I own is RB3 and the keyboards for PS3 but I'm borrowing my friends pro drums kit for PS3. Anyone have any DLC suggestions for lower tier drum songs that are fun to play? All the DLC I had bought previously was on my 360.
Is Breaking the Girl still available? Because that's an amazing drum song to play, and it appears a lot more difficult than it actually is (the song is mostly the same rhythm repeated over and over again, but it's a fun rhythm to play)
Apparently not, it isn't listed on the Rock Band website anymore. That album was one of the ones I own on 360 as well, but I don't have any of the instruments for it anymore.
Anyone else ever have issues getting RB3 plays to count as progress towards Rock Band World goals?
I'm actually getting pretty annoyed because I'm trying to do the RB3 throwback goal, and it's seemingly ignored me playing Bohemian Rhapsody three times now, in addition to other songs.

Maybe it's just trying to get you to play Bohemian Rhapsody again, RB3 really liked that song.
It's definitely RB3 not registering the songs. I'm working on the Green Day Superfan goal now, and it's registering all the songs immediately playing via Blitz. It also says I completed the songs in the future.

Started playing Pro Drums after borrowing them from a friend. Since I only own the keyboards I only had RB3 for the PS3, but borrowed RB1 from my friend to do the export and picked up copies of Rock Band 2 and Lego Rock Band for their exports, and have the AC/DC Track Pack on the way. It's been so long since I have played RB regularly, that at first I was like 'man I suck, I can't get this timing down at all'. Then I realized I forgot to do the latency calibration... That helped, I still suck though.
Not much of an announcement this time around, as we expect to re secure all licenses for this quarter! That's still not set in stone, and there's always chance that we may get urgent requests from some labels / bands that require our immediate attention, but for now we don't believe that we'll be pulling anything from the store this quarter.
If that plan changes at all, we'll be sure to announce which content is at risk, and give the community as much notice as possible so you don't miss out on a last chance to purchase. As always, tracks you already own aren't included in these re licensing efforts, so if you've already purchased specific tracks then you've got nothing to worry about.
Unless something urgent pops up, expect the next re licensing update in about 3 months time."
Harmonix just sent out a huge wave of Chroma alpha keys. Check your emails!
I got in, and I am allowed to say that because the NDA makes it clear you can share that you are very excited about being in the alpha but do not share anything else about it.
I'm going to rock with friends tomorrow, so today I'm letting RB3 just play through songs with the faux-jukebox mode where I load up vocals with no mic plugged in and hit "Party Shuffle" so I can remember what songs I have.
Is there a way to have it autoplay? I can't remember and hitting the "A" button after every song is annoying as I wander around the house.

Activision, who never met a license they couldn't be bothered to renew, has decided that Guitar Hero is not quite dead yet. And so, they are going to delist all of the Guitar Hero DLC (and possibly GoD content, too) at the end of the month. Which is Monday.
On the plus side, they basically discounted every song/pack at about 50% off. Don't know if this is going on on the PS3, but probably.
I'd have posted this in a Guitar Hero thread but I can't find one that wouldn't be horribly necro'd.
Well, Guitar Hero was the first full-band video game on the market. And now Rock Band is very clearly the last full-band video game on the market. So...yes!
Well, bad timing for me, it's too much for me to grab all of GH2's DLC on a lark (almost 30$ total). Bleh. BLEH I say.
Kind of annoyed since it's like.. a matter of days where doing this goes from being a bad idea to a mere blip in the wallet. Always seems to work that way, no?
Spent last night harmony-ing it up with my friend. She's only played Rock Band on Wii, and I think only RB2, so she thought harmonies were pretty cool. Went online, people were surprised to actually see us getting double awesomes. lol. Got out Beatles Rock Band (yay, the disc still works). Hard to believe Beatles RB is almost five years old, still the game that really sells the harmony functionality.
Annnnd it's gone. Activision must have meant the first hours of the 31st, not the end of it, as all of GH2's DLC and the DLC for all the other games is gone now.
And by "all DLC" they weren't kidding, even the videos and I think the gamerpics/themes are gone too. Exports have been taken down too.
Dark Raven XLaugh hard, run fast,be kindRegistered Userregular
It's gonna suck when this day comes for Rock Band. I don't actively play it anymore, but a huge chunk of my play time last generation was spent clackin on that plastic guitar. Gonna whip out the Xplorer I think, play some GH2. ;D

I think in Rock Band's case, it's going to be whenever they shut down the content servers for the PS3/360/Wii.
They're doing rolling 5 year renewals, so at this point all RB1-era DLC that wasn't pulled is now safe. We're actually going to be getting to RB3-era DLC being in danger of expiring late next year.
You know, I'm really hating whoever is hoarding all of the unopened guitars that are sitting around in some warehouse. I would love to play guitar in RB again, but nooooooooo...
wasn't DSB the all-time top seller? journey must hate money
Metallica was too. Bands gonna band
Also, going off the 5 year licensing rule, Don't Stop Believing came out exactly 5 years and a week-ish ago. Looking over the chronological list:
Ten (album) is now safe.
Best of No Doubt is safe.
Weird Version Of Last Resort is safe.
Spongebob Pack is somehow safe. Surpising, considering the Viacom songs tended to be pulled before.
I had conveniently penciled in a harmonies upgrade (and was sent a keys upgrade) for "Don't Stop Believing" before that announcement came out, so, if you haven't bought it already, you now have even more reasons.
I'll hopefully capture/post a video for it today or tomorrow (I'm about a release behind schedule on videos atm, did the second oldest one last night and will do yesterday's today).
Playing through Beatles (I Feel Fine, why can't I gold star you on anything I have), and noticed the PA Beatles players are all a fairly optimized group.. all our scores seem to be separated by a thousand or two points, and I neither gain rank nor score lower than my old score.

A controller with turbo would work.

The store servers were all fooked up last time I tried to browse that anyway. Sucks for the GH playerbase.
I'm guessing this applies to GH2, too? That'd probably be the only GH I'd finally grab the DLC for, just for completion's sake.

Like everything that may or may not concern Rock Band, it isn't official until they specifically announce it.
