If your DM is paying attention and bothered reading the Dungeon Master Guide (right where it says Simultaneous Activity on pg. 24 and Adjudicating the Ready Action on pg. 25-26) they will know that 6 seconds is no where near enough to reach the end of the line and if you're not in combat, ready action can't be used. They can also tell you the rules on readying actions dictate none of the peasants are ready to catch the pole, meaning they're going to drop the pole right at the start. Even if they do manage to pass it forward there's one other problem: an improvised thrown weapon has -4 to-hit, -4 to-hit for using a 2h weapon with 1h, and -2 per range increment, and impossible to throw beyond 50ft. Even if you had the implied momentum, the final peasant would have trouble hitting a stationary barrel.
Earlier today a buddy of mine was claiming that at some point during 3.5 they released a bunch of "dilettante feats" for half-elves, and that's basically where they got the idea for dilettante for 4e.

Step 1) pick Summoner
Step 2) you don't need other steps
oh man not even close
although synthesist is hella top tier of brokeness
my favorite DM so far encountered a moment at the beginning of a session in which someone revealed that he had figured out a way to get up to like 30 strength at only level six. He might have been fudging some rules, and he had spent all his cash on buying permanent spell effects.
So the DM crushed the character under a colossal piece of masonry broken loose by a trebuchet
I like object lessons, especially object lessons that involve giant objects
30 strength huh?
at lvl 6?
that's all?
barbarian alchemist can get to 34 pretty easily
it was an alchemist barbarian, I just couldn't remember the exact numbers

Incidentally, alchemist/barbarian character concept:
As some people might know, my fiance has a relapsing/remitting course of multiple sclerosis. Last time she had a relapse, we brought her to the hospital and had them give her a course of these steroids. Of course these are mood-altering drugs, and she felt like a much angrier person while it was in her system.
So of course, I immediately realize, let's channel this into something fun! Enter Acthar the Barbarian, the hammer-wielding psychopath who solves all of her problems by taking a shitload of drugs and getting super angry at everything and crushing them with a ten foot long lucerne hammer.

how do you get 21 base? I thought generally you cap out at 20 in the point buy system (18 max +2 for being human) and you definitely cap out at 20 in a dice roll system.
Also it must have been higher because I think he snuck in a permanent Bull's Strength which is definitely not kosher. It's just that the DM didn't audit his sheet when he brought it to the table and only noticed it in the second session that we played with the character. I think he felt uncomfortable just straight up saying "fix your sheet before we start or you can't play" and so he just smeared the character all over the cobblestone street near the end of the session to at least give him a dramatic send off.
You four, start trying to get an idea for a character in your head. Point buy system for ability scores, 20 points all stats start at 10, 18 is max, 7 is the minimum. PM me if you have any questions and such
If I had my druthers, we'd do shit on Valve Time and not give any ETAs until the book was in layout. But people seem to want more info than that.
EX3 is probably the most ambitious and ridiculous corebook WW has ever attempted, because it has to synergize with all the hardbacks and subsystems to come, meaning they need to exist in fairly detailed block-out form before this is finished-- roughly on par with trying to plan the entire oWoD, with an eye toward compatibility, at once. Oh and we have more hardbacks to juggle than the previous editions did.
"Shit is crazy until it's done, and then it's beautiful and awesome" is going to be how this thing plays out. I'll jam this fucker up until September if that's what it takes to be sure that you finally end up with a book that is gorgeous, well-written, plays well, and still plays well four years down the road. I think to the degree that Onyx Path has a company thesis, it's "people will spend a little extra patience and money in exchange for consistent high quality, and loving treatment of the properties we care about."

CALLING IT NOW. APRIL FIRST.
God dammit I just want to play some Exalted in a system that doesn't completely suck.
I am honestly super glad that the Onyx Path crew is taking their sweet-ass time, though. If they don't do this right they are fucked.
So my giant dinobot that I've been playing in my friend's d20 Future game died. Now I'm trying to think of what to replace him with. Robots are ridiculously easy to cheese, but I'm not sure I want to do that again. I'm thinking I might make a Techno Mage and have some fun with Program Spell, since there are no limitations on how many spells I can program or how long they stay stored.
I don't know. I'm feeling a bit lost. Maybe I should go watch some sci-fi stuff for inspiration.
In EP we made a weapon system that would identify the target you were shooting at, and select the correct round from a smart magazine in order to put them down. Little to no armour? Hollow-point. More armour? HEAP round. designated non-combatant? Either a misfire or a non-lethal flux round. Designated hostage target? Shock or flux.
Best thing was you didn't even have to choose every time you fired, the tacnet would just select the round based on what the gun was pointing towards at the time. The first time I shot a spray of bullets at three underworld enforcers, hitting the one wearing the advanced armour suit with AP rounds and the two back-up goons with hollowpoints was pretty damn cool I can tell you.
so, a variation on the Judge Dredd series Judge gun
I really shouldn't be doing this for a first time playing a system, but I'm building my character for Bucketmans thing with the goal of not having the other players know what my character is. Just a mercenary with the group fighting alongside the others. A flash of light and somebody is on fire through unknown means.

Well yeah, if you believe that the moon is as far away as they tell you it is...
Might have to buy into this one, guys, I really like painting Tau...

confirm/deny?
No clue if they came from 3.x.
Ugh....
This is the only feat I could find that might resemble what he is referencing.
But... I'm going to call bullshit.
Although I could be wrong.
Nah it's more likely he's misremembering. He's probably thinking of the DDO stuff.

The Reaper Bones kickstarter minis are due to start shipping this week.
I am hecks of excited.
I'm going to get orcs and goblins and townspeople and all kinds of shit!
Satans..... hints.....
I've got a few ideas for the character so I'm definitely in. I should be able to do up something tomorrow. I presume a level 1 start?
first level, basic items, fox only

I mean...if that is what you want man...
Will his name be I.P. Daley, or something similar?
I'd be something like Richard von Bracius the Knight of Virtues & Valor.
He'd resemble something akin to this:
