Maybe I've just been really unlucky so far, but nobody at whatever hidden Elo I'm at seems to know how to use her abilities. No, friendly bruiser, me ulting you when you're at full health does not mean you should run away. Yes, when the enemy is a squirrel it means that they can't do anything to you.

Funny thing about the Zed game is not only did I dominate kills, but I had like 250 CS when the next closest on the map was I think 190. I love that about Zed, that he wave clears like a boss even though he's an assassin.

Zed can clear the entire wave easily with his shadow, one Q and one or two Es without ever being in danger of retaliation. Most assassins have to play more carefully pre 6 than he does, which is more the point I was trying to make.

you're either using energy to farm or energy to harass. you cannot do both, at least not to any effect early on.
Someone like lux or oriana do not have those restrictions and outrange you.
given the same skill level, the zed will get zoned and forced to go in for a kill.

Yup. 11/3/10 TF game ending in defeat even though 3 others were all positive k/d because a Lux called mid after I did, then went away and didn't talk, then had exhaust so we assumed they were going support.
then came mid, fucked up the farm, refused to do anything, refused to buy wards, and went 0/8 in lane. He also kept trying to say that because he called it at all and when I asked if he was ok supporting before I locked in, that his silence meant that no, he was going mid no matter what.
Support TF is not the best. And 50cs TF is really not the best. And TF where you have to buy all the damn wards with both of those is really not the best.
Still almost carried that shit while Lux was shit talking about how the rest of us needed to learn how to play.

Like if he had even just said "NO I'M MID GO TO HELL" before I locked in TF I would've been fine going support, even though I would've thought he was a dick. And while he still would've fed, our ADC was pretty good and could've killed the lane, and we could've had a pretty good game at least. But he decided to wait until in the game to raise shit and then act like it was the rest of the teams fault for not knowing that refusing to say anything meant he didn't care about pick order, call order, or the team in general, he was going to mid lux.

Every day I'm about to try ranked, I look here and see at least 3 people complain because of this sort of attitude that the people on your own team have. I just go nopenopenope and play a botgame and log off.
Maybe if the ignore feature pulled these people out of your matchmaking pool (I know, that's super hard to actually code), I might be encouraged to try it after weeding out terrible people like that. Worst case, they all get forced to play with each other and drive themselves collectively to an ELO Hell where they won't bother those people who actually want to try and compete. Of course they can make a new account, but as it is tribunal stuff just isn't effective enough.
Generally though in solo queue blind pick you pretty much never see the same player twice anyway.
I'm thinking of maybe playing ranked again. But only play lux forever. (Support, mid, top, cant figure out a decent jungle lux or adc lux but ohwell). Ill probably get back to Gold doing that :P. I was pleasantly surprised that I got gold in S2 after not logging in and playing in forever, I guess I didn't suffer enough rating decay to bump me down to silver.

AD carry Lux actually works surprisingly well, thanks to her passive and general utility. In terms of alternative AD carries she's not as good as, say, Ahri or Orianna (and certainly not Kennen), but she can definitely fill the role.

Then you have not fought against decent Zeds sorry to say. You can farm and harass with your energy without limiting yourself much at all. If you use your energy to harass you can get the low enough that they won't want to try and move in on you. If you use it to farm you can do so at a safe distance. If you are clever you can farm and harass at the same time with your shadow clone and E.
If they are close enough to auto attack me they will eat harass easily. If they are using their skills to try and harass me they are running out of mana (something Zed doesn't worry about)
The pressure from your harass cannot be discounted especially since you can land it easily and at range. I can even sit on the creeps if necessary to last hit and use my energy to harass because of that pressure, and if they have pressure of their own I can play defensively and just farm and when I'm ready I can go full in and blow them up.
It's funny you use Lux as an example because I used to main her and I love picking Zed into that matchup because of how easy the matchup is for him.
And when you say "Assuming equal skill" it means that the Zed isn't an idiot either. If both are equal skill it means that Zed is going to be able to both harass and farm just as well as Lux can and his kit very much lets him do that.
As opposed to say an actual melee centric champion who relies primarily on auto attacks to farm, of which Zed is most certainly not.

I like playing with premades in weekends, been stomping lanes all day. Of course, late-game has been a challenge at times (I'm a shitty assassin, I'm too used to Garen/J4/Shyv), but it still worked out. Gunblade, rylai's, GA, Zhonya & Void staff Akali takes a while to die and hits hard enough.

If anyone isn't watching the TSMTournaments stream IPL6 Qualifier, there's currently a game that's gone on for 53 minutes between DNG and Crs Academy, and Crs is about 1.5k ahead in gold but has 0 towers (to DNG's 9)
e: welp, game ended as you'd expect (the team with 0 tower kills lost)
Every day I'm about to try ranked, I look here and see at least 3 people complain because of this sort of attitude that the people on your own team have. I just go nopenopenope and play a botgame and log off.

If you really want to, I think you should just go for it. While there are a lot of negative experiences, I think it just gets magnified here on the forums because it's a good place to vent. I've had good experiences recently, even during the weekend! First game, our graves was bitching about our team comp during champ select, saying we didn't have enough CC and everyone on the team just collectively told him to chill and play the game out, we ended up winning that game. Second game, I our Singed was running around and got caught out, I tried to save him with bind and shield but failed and he starting giving me shit, the Rammus on our team, stepped up and defended me and told him to get a grip. that was cool. We ended up winning that game too. So, I guess my point is it's a mixed bag, there's always the chance you get teamed with an asshole but it shouldn't stop you from trying a game mode.

also set up utility masteries so i can take the explorer ward and hamburgle their blue buff at 7 minutes (haven't succeeded yet but that's not gonna stop me from trying just yet)

I still disagree but w/e, if you can make zed work for you 100% of the time against standard mids then all the more power to you.

If you play all the game modes then you can never have enough rune pages. 20 isn't enough to cover everything you would want for each game type.
and there are certain champs that require very special rune pages. you could drive yourself mad.
