Vote-kick introduces more problems than it solves, even a cursory glance at it would tell you that. It's a bit sad that so much time has to be devoted to discussing it instead of looking for better solutions.

In other news, sometimes you win and sometimes you WIN!

This is kind of a Goosey thing to say. To you it might create more problems then is solves. However some of those problems, to some people do not out weigh the benefits. I at the start of the day thought vote kicking was a good idea. Now I see a lot of the flaws that are not very apparent to me and to thousands of other people. Not everyone instantly figures out all the kinks or views problems in the same way. Don't dismiss this as a way of learning for some people by trivializing it because you saw the flaws and made the decision that they did not outweigh the pros. Its a public discussion, they will have their own discussions in house and who knows someone may come up with a solution that no one thought of in house, in that thread.

I get more shitstain premades than solo guys trying to ruin games. The other day - I'm first pick -
    Other Dude: Jungle
    Me: Sorry, I'm jungling.
Other Dude: That's what you think

him and his buddies then all troll-pick supports with smite. Thankfully, someone on the other side dodged.

To be honest, I hate people that say "Sorry, but I'm stealing the spot you just called because I dont care what you want". If you want that particular role so badly, ask nicely.

If I'm first pick in draft, I get to choose what I do. It's the way things work. I'm usually really nice about it, so if he had said "Hey, I'd really like to jungle, do you mind" I probably would have let him have it, but I've fallen on the proverbial sword enough times in this game and played roles I didn't want to that I occasionally get to call out what I'm doing with first pick.

Call order strikes me as a pretty bad/unfair way to distribute picks in draft, since last I heard draft order was already randomized. Sometimes you're first pick, sometimes someone else is. Taking turns and sharing!

Draft games are all about the counter picking, which means people in the first 3 slots should be going for jungle, adc, support in pretty much that order. I've faced way too many shitbirds that say that at whatever elo they are playing at counterpicks dont matter, which then proceeds to them feeding their lane or being extremely underfarmed compared to their lane opponent.

EDIT: Further, call order is teammate communication and coordination, ignoring call order is just rude.

    I um.

The enemy tried a lane swap tactic on us. They got my turret low-ish and I kinda hit all the minions and made them take turret shots early.

By three minutes I was 3/0/1 as Jarvan against a Sona/Cait lane (jungler got one kill on that, their mid teleports up to top and I destroy her). First back I had I think 2.8k gold from their failed tower push. Proceed to run a train on EVERYONE. I hit Cait for over two hundred with just a Q after my first back of a scepter+brutalizer. I hit Sona for over half her health. It was awesome. Told the jungler to just come top when they showed up in lane since they were free kills at that point, had to keep the lane pushed a little to bide his time to show up top.

But really, whoever types fastest gets their role, and the guy who loads in a second late gets screwed? It's an absurd system. :| In a saner world, we'd prioritize based on pick order (because it's fair) but then coordinate with lane swaps.

In practice I've never put my foot down. If I tell them nicely I'm bad at ADC and they insist I do it anyway, they're probs not chill enough to play well if I "steal" their call.

In ranked the pick order is by elo, in normals it is random, but if you are queuing with multiple people and anyone on your team randoms first pick, the person that organised the game gets it.

Edit - Call order does not exist, it is entirely by pick order. Don't be a baby and force your team to dodge because you won't play anything but mid.

I only call mid / top if I am one of the last two picks. I just hate first pick mids / tops, because 4/5 times they are going to feed / get countered. I wouldnt mind pick order being the dominant way to choose champs if each pick was for a specific role so that I'm not getting these first pick mids all the time. I'm also finding last pick calling ADC being pretty terribad too now that I think about it.

And I have never forced a dodge since I'm always willing to fill or play a different position if someone is a real goose about it after I have already locked in, but I will be extremely generous and say that maybe you werent directing that insult at me personally.

If I'm playing with friends and I'm early in the pick order I'll either pick Cho or pick a top that is commonly seen as a jungler (Jarvan) in hopes that they assume jungle and don't pick someone that poops on me.

If they do I just ask to go mid as Jarvan and go ham.

    Bottom lane counters matter too.

At most ELO's team composition and skill matters much more the counterpicks. Sure people will get destroyed in lane sometimes. Are they useful to the team after that? Does your team achieve its objective after that? Because that is what matters. If you pick someone who is only valuable with farm that can't get farm its bad, but nothing about picking top or mid requires that.

I might even go so far to say that bottom lane picks are much more susceptible to early order misplays in this situation because bottom lane picks tend to show your team fight strategy early in the pick process. That is, if you lock in your bottom lane pair early you almost guarantee to show your strategy timing and allow the other team to dictate whether it can time earlier or later than you. This can be terribly costly because it allows the other teams jungler/top to counter pick your team fight presence during the phase it is to be powerful as well as the phase it is to be weak.

If you counter pick a lane you may win lane, but unless that champion requires a lot of farm to do his job, you haven't stopped him from doing his job. Aside: Guess whose job requires a lot of farm to succeed? ADC. They even have a position dedicated to ensuring they get farm.

That being said pick order is the law of the land. There is nothing you can do but be a goose if the first pick picks singed. Don't be a goose.

AP GP is pretty cool, but you can basically push his lane in and never have to fight him because his wave clear becomes awful. :(

Now, if you're taking GP support, there's actually a good case to be made for AP GP, because he can keep up harassment on their carry without any fear of being initiated on or damaged in return.

    1) You did not get out of base fast enough. Its hard for supports when you have to buy a lot of starting items (and not flub it) but you still need to be out of base and either into defensive or aggressive positions early. Its 30 seconds before you get out of base and your MF is almost to the river. Even she didn't have the fastest of starts (but does get an advantage from being MF)

Gaaaah people who call mid and instalock and then wait two minutes before even buying anything. *rage*

Like a game where our top was doing badly, so my ADC is being a giant asshole as bot was doing rather well all game, with me trying to calm people down for once. Then I do one mistake in a midgame teamfight, and suddenly he just keeps ragging on me whatever I do. It was rather amusing, if somewhat tedious after a while.

haha, just got a triple kill as support Alistar... I should feel bad for KS'ing, but its too damn funny.

I played a game last night where the opposing Taric got a triple kill. Picked blitzcrank because it had been a while since I kidnapped some people outside of ARAM. Our Ad carry hovers over Miss Fortune and I am like YAH TIME TO KILL, then switches to Ashe. Whelp against an ez taric lane Ashe was a silly choice, unless they're really good at Ashe (spoiler: They were not) . Guess i'll just pull when there are ganks.

Our jungler comes in for a gank. I do some ez kidnapping followed by a combo to keep him in place. He dies at the same time I do, Taric takes the kill with shatter. Our jungler is tanking turret hits for whatever reason. Taric then proceeds to kill him, then kill the Ashe using his new found blue, CDR and mana regen. Taric gets the tripple kill and snowballs the lane. Our Ashe even though I was zoning Taric from stunning her and when he did stun her ez refused to go in, incase I hooked kidnapped him, is 30 CS down. Not looking good. We ended up losing the game after our top Renekton just decided to split push and not get any towers. The enemy team was so far ahead and just tower dove us took a tower then killed the Renekton. In the 4 split push attempts he did not get a single tower.

Ashe: 'gg bad blitz.' after the game ends. :(

Ciderhelm was the owner of Tankspot. It was a website that had video guides for tanks on how to do many of the raid boss fights in World of Warcraft. It was for the longest time one of the most widely used raid information sites for people who didn't want to spend hours figuring out the tips and tricks to beating a new boss.
