Dextrocardia was a thing that I didn't know existed until MGS2
So, thanks, game
Taught me something
i always assumed that it was some weird old antiquated racist belief that black people's hearts are on the right side of their ribcage but apparently it's just an actual birth defect
recessive genes are not necessarily better or worse than dominant genes!
you could
maybe try to argue that since big boss is such a uniquely awesome soldier that whatever contribution his genes make to his awesomeness probably comes from his recessive genes which by their nature would be expressed in a given person less frequently
but
that's still super dumb and it is hilarious that kojima made a game that is thematically about genetics without actually understanding anything about how genetics works

well the things that made him great would be a specific blend of some dominant and recessive genes aka solidus
+1

ignoring the dumb way it's phrased in the game I assume the idea that they're actually trying to get at is that Liquid received the "soldier genes" that they've isolated and Snake got everything else, with the idea being to test whether Liquid would win as the genetically superior soldier or if Snake would win believing that he's the genetically superior soldier
and then the fact that Snake won lead to the development of S3 to see how far they could go to turn anyone into any kind of person they wanted
i'm not sure... if there's a single thing i like about metal gear solid games
i'm thinking... i guess the cutscene in the opening of MGS2 was alright
My absolute favorite thing about MGS4 (which I didn't play, but watched a friend play) was that you could store camo prints in the suit memory
We were heart broken when it turned out that you could only keep a limited number, and all the best designs where in cutscenes
In the first scene where maril shows up there is daisy print wall paper on the wall but the cut scene ends with you outside of room so you cant put daisies in the camo-dex
I believe in the hit motion picture Twins's theory of genetics.
Genetically engineer the perfect man using the genes of the world's finest males, and inadvertently end up with a lesser twin that gets all the leftovers.

I rarely ever read the GB reviews, since they always discuss the games in detail during their podcasts anyway. I feel I get a better grasp of their opinions during their sit-downs and LPs than a simple text summary.

which is a callback to how a soldier's soul is in his left arm
but Liquid's arm grafted to Ocelot was his right arm
which is like a foreshadowing to mgs4?
and the plot twist is that it's SNAKE that has all the dumb recessive genes (even though he looks more like Big Boss???)
that is an actual thing in an actual video game

and no
no way
this isn't even remotely true
yeah i mean i'm not being a grump about it, it's hilarious
like MGS1's (and MGS in general's) core theme is nature vs. nurture and no one on the team that made it actually understood how the nature half worked
well that's not fair the texture artists might have known, or like maybe sound designers

They could have easily gone with what they did just because it fit their crazy story better.

Casino Royale didn't exist yet
It was true at the time

Think of how @BugBoy feels
see kojima's particular brand of wacky does nothing for me. i don't find it entertaining at all
and i absolutely hate the gameplay in every single one i've played so
NOPE
