I really wish that had been the character-action game the demo indicated it would be

I think it could have been really cool

Never heard of it! Meanwhile there's madworld, bayonetta, MGR, anarchy whatever... No thanks

Though I can finally give vanquish a go since it was free on PSN.

In fact maybe I'll do that

in one of the levels of hitman blood money there was someone you had to sedate before they finished their first AI loop, otherwise the sedative you use would react with their alcohol and kill them.

Dr. Naomi Hunter: Are you smoking?

    Solid Snake: Yeah, so what?

Dr. Naomi Hunter: Didn't you know that cigarettes contain benzopyrene, a chemical that leads to lung cancer? We now know that when benzopyrene enters the body, it changes to benzopyrene diolepoxide and attaches to the receptors on the P53 gene, the gene which causes lung cancer. The BPDE attaches to the P53 gene in three specific locations and causes pre-cancerous changes to the lung tissue.

Solid Snake: You know a lot about science, but you don't know how good a cigarette tastes in the morning.

Back in '98 it blew my mind that they would even bother putting something like that in a game, and then it let me know that there'd be a new codec conversation for every item I equipped

I love the idea that future technology is anime because it is designed by anime nerds

Much as I love that kind of forward-thinking from Kojima, MGS3 sadly debunked that theory, as it turned out the Metal Gear design was planned well before Otacon's time, and wasn't even entirely the Emmerich family's concept to begin with.

I ran through the game twice. Literally the only good thing to come from going evil is you can summon these little roly poly guys that are just adorable. And they shoot needles at things you fight.

Also the evil ending is all kinds of crazy.

Unfortunately the game does kind of a dickish thing with the decision at the end...

anyone else have the crazy idea for a game that like

you just live in a house out in the hills of the eastern united states somewhere.

Just like, from building the house, to cleaning and maintaining it and your yard?

Then like you can explore the wilderness and go to town to get supplies or like...

So I still don't like what they've done to Raiden but listening to you guys talk about MGRR it sounds like Platinum have done justice to MGS's particular brand of crazy. I'm sold to play the game but I won't have time to until summer, bluhgehgehhh

I could see it. A game can be a utility for escapism and relaxation. It doesn't necessarily require anything unreal or absurd.

Something with the tone and pace of say, Harvest moon but without the pressures of farming.

Something like a less cartoony and more isolated version of Animal Crossing.

It would have to have less of a social focus though.

But you can write long letters to your online friends who also play the game.

like just describe how you saw some cool bugs on the way back from fishing at your river.
