Mundane = any species of bee you find in the wild, with the exception of Valiant bees and bees found in the Nether.

Best plan, IMO, is to use Meadows + Forest to get Common.

I'm going to become a crazy old man like you if i delve into this bee shit, I know it.

Oh also I guess those bees that make oil are also pretty effective as long as they're in an Alveary. Not sure if they make enough oil to power a HP boiler or anything, but I intend to find out soon.

wither skeleton spawners are better for boilers, imho.

I've got a full sized HP boiler, feeding HV IC2 power and MJ power to my entire base by pumping the steam into an steam consumer>energy bridge>MJ Producer/HV IC2 Producer.

Its fueled by two wither skeleton spawns, and produces tons of extra coal now that its finally reached full 1000c and nibbles coal instead of eating it by the shovel full.

I could probably stick a second full sized HP boiler on my current fuel system, now that the first one is at full temperature.

I prefer liquid boilers because reasons

(actually I love railcraft tanks and having huge vats of chemicals stored in my base)

Wouldn't it be easier to use a Blaze spawner rather than a wither skeleton spawner?

I just hopped on the server for a few minutes to build a jetpack for my modular armor.

After having to deal with those super-weird recipes that can't be copied from NEI to the ME C-Terminal, I've taken the liberty of adding some powersuit upgrade ingredients to the crafting recipe server. I'll be adding a few more once I mess around in my sandbox world.

Coal produces 4x the amount of heat in a solid fuel firebox than blaze rods do.

I just cook up some soul shards, and trap a wither skeleton in each one.

Then come back to the overworld and, using a vile sword, grind out a few shards of zombies/whatever to 1024, then combine that with the wither shard on an anvil to make a t5 wither shard.

all that surplus coal is also useful for other things, like torches and carbon plates and stuff.

The easiest way to get a soul shard up is to find a Hollow Hill and grab all the spawnsers, then anvil with the shard you actually want to use. Each spawner is worth 200 souls.

But I'm pretty sure they nerfed blaze rod heat levels specifically because blaze spawners are so easy to get (Just grab ~5 blaze spawners, they're fuckin everywhere) and were trivializing making boiler setups.

I have a podcast about Digimon called the Digital Moncast, on Audio Entropy.

I've installed a 12LP Boiler on the 1st/2nd floor (depending if you use Ground Floors) of the mega workshop. It'll provide power for the still/fermenters and it's powered by wooden planks from the tree farm.

Thats a one time thing, if you grab them with a gravity gun (which is easy to make) you can set up a drop farm and, with a well enchanted vile sword, make dozens of T5 shards for anvil forging into desirable ones.

Yar, would it be possible to be added to the white list and told the new server addy? I've gotten a new MC-MP itch after finishing Mass Effect 3, and I'd love to check out the crazy schenanigans you're all up to lately after reading this thread.

is there a reason to use apiarist pipes over diamond pipes for autobreeding apiaries? with diamon pipes i could just specify the specific drone i want to be refed and everything else into the chest

  • LorahaloLorahalo Registered User regular
Because it doesn't like bees with different traits.

This FTB stuff sounds crazy complex, but I love automated systems. Just how complex of a setup can be had before the server explodes?

Apiarist pipe is even easier, you just tell it "bees --> and everything <--". It'll automatically read them from most-specific to least-specific, so bees will go to the apiary as long as there's room, then items and excess bees will go to the chest.

Excess bees belong in the genepool. It's a more efficient form of storage, those tanks can hold many bees. In liquid form.

Yes, but it's best to send them there via a sorting system. As soon as they enter sorting, have an api pipe send all bees to the genepool. This cuts down on the number of ender chests you have to build, and has the added bonus of accelerating all items in sorting.

Soooo..I just learned what happens when you pump HV EU into a whole bank of devices that you stupidly forgot to insert your transformer upgrades into, in my single player world.

on the plus side, now I'm considering how to weaponize extractors and power tesseracts.

No, I created Age 37 and unless you like seeing the screen trip out like you've had a kilo of meth with breakfast lunch and dinner for a week, you do not want to be in that age.

Yeah those videos are good. Personally, I just opened up the wiki on one screen then loaded up my SP flat creative world and started tinkering around. If I had a curious question I needed to answer, may as well try it out. TBH, with now 4 pattern providers, a bit over 20 storage units, an ender chest input link, an over-flow discard system and drawing close to 90 energy units per tick at full flight, the ME Net that's actually live on the server is more complex than the one I had as a test unit in creative mode.

ME Net as of this morning/day:
    nIHh9iD.png

I'm actually limited by the most mundane of materials in building out the workshop basement: Cobblestone. It takes 6 cobblestone per basalt via Minima stones, and I've burnt thorugh the cobblestone stockpiles twice. I've still got 2 layers of floors to build and I'm considering swapping to double stone slabs for the floor/roofs of B2F and B3F. The bottom most power level and ME Net levels are still going to get the full basalt treatment.

Ok, to the Bee HQ fellers: I'm requesting permission to redo your power set up. It's much more effective to use Magmatic Engines than the Thermal/Geothermal Generators. If you need EU, just use an energy bridge

    Know whats more efficient?

    STEAM BOILERS!

Yeah, I don't fancy running by and wrenching them on a regular basis either.

Efficiency would be a concern if we had limited amounts of lava -- we don't though. If we start running out of lava too frequently, I'll look into other options. For now, though, I like our setup.
