It's starting to look like my Castform will be a little fucked. I wanted to give him Flamethrower, Solar Beam and Sunny Day, but I couldn't figure out how to breed all those moves to him since I want to give those TM's to other pokeymans as well. Then again sunny day/rain dance/hailwhatever along with weather ball might give him more flexibility.
My friend is currently laughing at me because his pokeymans are better than mine. Is it just me, or did pokemon level up faster in R/B/Y?
Oh my god can someone please give me some tips on how to get the gold star at the battle factory?? I've thrown myself at the open level single pokemon match about 50 times and can only manage a feeble 28 win streak as my best score.
I usually try to get one fairly good sweeper out first, preferably with earthquake, as that seems to be the move that kills the most of the rentals that are used, then I have one tank/staller and another random one that I usually try to balance out my types. I also try to get a couple pokemon that are resistant to ground or flying because the computer likes to use earthquake a lot too.
It's pretty much all luck. Just keep at it. I was only able to get the gold at the Battle Factory because I just enjoy battling there so much.
Pokemon I generally watch out for there are Heracross (particularly the Megahorn/Brick Break/Rock Slide/Earthquake one), Metagross, Dusclops(seismic toss one), Weezing, Skarmory (spikes/roar), Milotic, Gardevoir(avoid the dream eater version, though it CAN work), Exeggutor, and Breloom (Spore/Focus Punch). Of course, there are tons of good pokemon in there, those are just the ones off the top of my head that I always try to take. After 28 wins, you start encountering some different pokemon. Then you get to start taking things like Zapdos, Suicune, Regice, Dragonite, and Tyranitaur. Fun times.
Okay maybe it's because it's Holy Week, but I think I am the luckiest person ever. I got to Wallace's Ludiculo, and I didn't quite know what would work against it, so I changed to my Blaziken, which knows Brick Break and I say "Hey! Maybe this will work!". I critical hit the Ludiculo and I won! finally! I wasn't even trying to win either, I just wanted money. So now I finally beat E4 and I caught a Rayquaza.

Let me show you my Pokeymans. My Pokeymans, let me show you them.
1. Are all the pokemon ever in any of the games going to be in Diamond/Pearl?
2. People are saying they are playing Fire Red, Leaf Green, and emerald so they can have pokemon ready for the new games... what? How are we going to be able to trade pokemon from the old games to the new one? Are pokemon from the original game going to be tradable too? (Red/Blue)
Number one yes, if you count number two, which is yes. You can transfer six pokes a day from the gba games later on in the game and there are a few pokemon not in this one. But almost all of them.

Thanks a lot! :P
1. Uhh... yes and no. If you dont transfer anything from the GBA games or trade with anyone, you can't get them all with just Diamond or Pearl. But as soon as you have a WiFi adapter or wireless router, suddenly you can get them all. Even without trading, though, there is a lot of pokemon in those games.
2. Already addressed, but I'll still answer it. You can transfer 6 pokemon per day from the GBA games to D/P via the Pal Park after the Elite 4. No, you cant transfer anything from Red/Blue/Yellow/Gold/Silver/Crystal

What? How is just having a wireless router going to make you be able to get them all without trading? Secondly, how are you going to be able to trade to the GBA games, didn't you need some kind of cable to be able to do it through the GBA?
Just to be absolutely clear, you can transfer pokemon from your FireRed/LeafGreen/Sapphire/Ruby/Emerald GBA games by having the GBA in the GBA slot of the DS right? Thats what I inferred from this exchange, just want to be sure.
EDIT: The post above mine answered my question. Thanks!
But you'll have to beat the Elite 4 in Diamond or Pearl first, and (might, I'm not sure) have to have done the connectivity quests in the GBA games as well, like in FireRed when you have to take those plates to Celio to get his machine working. But I'm not totally sure about that.
But yeah, I believe what the deal is, is that after you beat the Elite 4 the Pal Park opens up. You can transfer 6 pokemon per cart a day into the pal park. Then you're given Pal balls which have a 100% catch rate and you have to go in the Pal Park (which I think is like Safari zone) and find those 6 Pokes you transferred in.
Oooh, that sounds neat. I bought FireRed along time ago and stopped playing it cause I got bored (Having beat Red in 6th grade or whatever) but now I guess I'll start playing it again.
That's what I did too, got to the Seafoam caves or whatever years ago and for whatever reason just stopped playing Firered. Then read about Diamond and Pearl, got excited and picked it back up.
I assumed I was pretty close to being done with the game being at Seafoam, then I realized how much extra stuff there was to do after the Elite 4. Surprised me, and I've put in about another 15-20 hours since picking it back up.
What? How is just having a wireless router going to make you be able to get them all without trading?
I just said that having a router will allow you to get them all. The reason is specifically because of trading. Since trading over WiFi is possible in Diamond/Pearl, you can get whatever you need just from the people on this site, or wherever.
I'm anticipating the release of this game, yet I have not played a post-GB color version. What would you folks surmise to be a decent party o' pokekillers?
In Pokemon Emerald, which legendary should I use my master ball on?
I just plain don't use the Master Ball, but if you MUST, the hardest one to catch would be Latios or Latias, whichever you encounter. Though Kyogre, Groudon, and Rayquaza all have a thing for using Rest, which can be a pain.
I n my opinion you shouldn't use the master ball on fights you can save right before, save it for one of these things:
-runner legendaries like the lati things or dogs in FR/LG
-a shiny that may roar or teleport or something, or that is just hard to catch
Strength is ok, but if you could breed to get another one with Body Slam that would be much better. Return is also stronger than those if the pokemon likes you as much as it can.
Also earthquake is a gazillion times better than razor leaf, especially since you already have another grass move.

Ahh, I'll remember those things.
And I was really only thinking about Razor leaf really because it has a lot more PP than Earthquake. But then I remembered I changed a few things after I typed that and had a moveset that had a lot more PP. So I'll remember what you said about Body Slam and return, hold off on Strength and go with Earthquake.
I'd just have to wait til I could breed it is all. (At least to get Body Slam on him... I think) Which is doable.

Adamant - Another amazing physical attacker. He ripped through the bulk of Agatha's pokemon with Drill Peck.
WTF! I found out about this Trainer Tower in LG, beat all the trainers and all I get is "congratulation, a winner is you!" from an old man. I read a FAQ and you get nothing in the Japanese version :S So why even bother? They were fairly easy trainers, but I got no EXP or money, so it was a waste of time.
Where's your starter, man? Pretty cruel to abandon your first pokeyman.
It was like an Adamant or some -Special Attack Blastoise.
Man.
Fuck that.
Mudkip only gets away with being Adamant because he's a Ground-type.
Cortez: I am willing to let you name every Pokemon after me AND add your Friend Code if I can get the Johto Starters.
Just for shits and giggles. Fuck using them. I hate them.
I just have not seen a fucking Cyndaquil since I restarted my Gold game and got infuriated at the Ilex Forest.

I think this moveset would be decent.

also does the daycare give EV points?
Adamant would work since those are all physical attacks.
And the daycare gives no EV points.
