Eh, it's just like falling out of building during one of the Decker missions. It'd be too troublesome to reset or account for players with no fall damage.
Replaying SR 3 now, and I am reminded of how much I hate Escort. After failing the one by the airport like 5 times, my next 3 "retries" was just running over the client right away for revenge before exiting out, calling up zimos and filling him full of bullets and grenades for such a stupid activity.
This might sound off topic, but what ever happened to Crackdown? The series just kinda vanished.
The developer of the first game in the series went out of business after making APB. The second game got utterly raked over the coals, and Microsoft hasn't gone back to it.

Wasn't Crackdown 2 basically just a extremely obviously revamped Crackdown 1? And Crackdown 1 wasn't even very good, it just broke ground for superhero games for the then-new next-gen systems; even then, it was probably the Halo 3 pack-in demo that sold more copies of Crackdown than anything else.
If the same guys who made the first game also made APB, that would explain a lot about how APB managed to tank so badly.

Yup, Crackdown 2 was super derivative, but I think you're misremembering the original. Because Crackdown 1 was pretty awesome. It had some rough spots, but overall? Really solid concept and some fun execution.
APB was a brilliant idea that just needed a little more time in the incubator. I played the Hell out of it when it came out, sank 50 hours into it. Open world emergent team-based PvP? Brilliant! Exploitable terrain vs. not enough game-iness? Very unfortunate.
Crackdown 1 also had the 'go anywhere at anytime and kill the bosses in any order you see fit'. It was pretty ballsy to allow the player to basically do whatever.

Crackdown 2 had an amazing framework laid down, in terms of engine and gameplay. But they put a pretty shitty game on top of it.
If it were on PC, I'm pretty sure Idol would fix it.
choosing the worst option between snatch and escort is pretty difficult, but i think i'd hand it to snatch
Snatch starts out reasonable and then becomes a pain towards the end. Starting with a four door car that's been thoroughly upgraded is a must as is switching cars every now and then later on. That easily gets screwed over if there are no four door cars around to steal. It highlights how relying on more notoriety stars to spawn in more enemies for difficulty is really annoying and lazy mission design.
I prefer it to hooker escort though but for some reason below the totem pole compared to tiger escort.
Has it been confirmed if there'll be an Initiation Station for SR4 like there was for 3? It was certainly a nice hype generator back then.
I haven't seen anything.
An Initiation Station style demo for SR4 was confirmed by Volition a little while back. At E3 they announced it would be called the Inauguration Station this time, which made me smile.

That's great news and a fantastic name. I hope it comes out soon!
Crackdown always makes me confused as to why nobody has made a game where you can like make your own super hero in an open world. Like A single player or co-op city of heroes essentially.
well you could start out as a super, and then depending on what you do you become a hero or villain. Even though in this scenario everyone would end up being villains

You know, even if I were only mildly interested in SR4, I would gladly pre-order it just to support Volition and Deep Silver for not being THQ-holes. THQ dying was probably the best thing that ever happened to the SR series.

Ah, have you tried stealing a tank?
That usually fixes escort missions.
It'll be back some time, I guess.

And now I really want to play it

It could have even been a vehicle like the yarn ball from the Genki DLC
I turned it into a flyable vehicle that I named the Death Orb. Does that count?

That's the day before my birthday. I'll take it.
It's pretty much my birthday that's going to fund the purchase of the game, god willing.
Steam Support is the worst. Seriously, the worst
Origin: RollThatKatamari
Who wants that in an open world game?
If you choose being a hero, you get a bunch of stuns. You can even Spider-Man the thugs and leave them for the police.
Hulk Smash?
I always love seeing one of our own getting this kind of recognition, grats Idol!
