Like the title says I've noticed in the last couple of days that going back and editing a typo or whatever in a post breaks the quote tags in the post and I get one big block of text instead of quote trees.
I'm only noticing this on my work PC so far, it uses IE9 V:9.08112.16421

I'll ask that this thread stays open anyway though because I am having other problems too, the formatting on the right hand side of the page has gone crazy for me and hovering the cursor over thread links in the subforums cases the entire box containing the link to vanish.
I'll post pictures of this later tonight when I get home.
I was wondering what was causing so many broken quote tags.
Edit:test
EDIT 2: doesn't seem to be breaking it for me on firefox 19.02
this is only a problem for me on my work PC

i'm seeing more people get it now too
Also from work. And our internet is terrible as hell today thank you Cox.
If any of that helps.
Also starting a few weeks ago Geth's avatar stopped loading, both in his posts and in the tiny one used for awesomes and such.
I miss basking in our robotic overlord's frightful visage.
edit: this is all from work. From home everything is fine.

Oh god my post
good to know it isn't just me!

The weird thread formating thing happens when Internet Explorer sets the PA forums in compatibility view, which it will do automaticly if some kind of error forces IE to refresh the page... at least, that's what it is on IE 8, and there should be a little button next to the URL with the picture of a torn page you can click on to fix. It also can be set from the tools menu. I suspect the solution for IE 9 would be similar.
Also have the broken tags problem, which can pop up whether I start editing right after posting, or refresh first and/or come back to edit later.
[b]EDIT[/b] ...and I have now created the [i]perfect[/i] example of this bug!

Its a code thing. Its not a browser thing. It wont "magically fix itself", ever. EVER.
So just wait. I will get to it.
Just.... stop.
It seems to be related to certain people and quoting, might be the environment they're working with?

When I quoted his code it broke the new lines and quotes, seems like it might be related to something else entirely than code, we'd all be experiencing it, wouldn't we?
As a result, I have to actually get my posts right the first time, and correct any egregious spelling errors while properly researching my wild baseless internet assertions. So it's a wash. Sounds like @IcyLiquid is on the case though! Huzzah.
Pretty much the same for me. Instead of just typing out a bunch of words and then looking back for spelling/grammer errors, I'm now checking for mistakes and actually using the preview button to make sure it looks the right way... This "bug" is slowing increasing the quality of my initial posts, as now I can only go back to edit if there are no tags in the post to begin with.
Edit: Well, the hyperlinks in the OP of that thread.
The problem just returned for me
