May I make a suggestion of using the lakes map insread of pangea? It is basically pangea just instead of a surrounding ocean it has scattered lakes of various sizes that you can adjust through the map settings (small, large, and seas). This leads to more land area, and it's still posible to circumnavigate by walking.

Only real downside is it makes ship building of any kind pointless and navies less than than useless.

Don't you have to pay for GMR in order to play more than 2 games at a time? Maybe that's what you're running into?

No. I was in two games, both crashed Civ 5 whenever I tried to play them.

I remember save bloat was a definite issue back when we first started using GMR, games would just get more unstable went on. Maybe the crash at GMR a while back somehow screwed up the file integrity of those games.

It could also have been the patch change in combination with the GMR reset.

Yeah good point. Probably best to get a fresh start for a number of these games anyway.

Been playing it and while it certainly has that justonemoreturn thing going on, it all feels rather ... bland? I'm glad I didn't buy it at full price back when it launched, that's for sure.

I find Civ 5 to be a way more "complete" feeling game than BE at the moment - maybe BE needs 2 expansions to make it right. I agree - bland is certainly what it is.
