I got off the T this morning at South Station for work, as I do every weekday. Usually, there's some hipster duo playing violins in an "ironic" fashion or a solo guy jamming reggae, both obviously playing for tips. Occassionally, you get the drunk crazy guy who argues with his shadow in the corner; don't tip him, though. But not today, my friends. Today, I got off the T and saw a kid playing the ocarina for cash. Yup, PAX is finally here

While I agree that being insensitive is an issue, so is being oversensitive.

    I feel like the only person who isn't leaving til tomorrow! For PAX Prime I'll get there Thursday and leave Monday, but for East I just show up Friday and leave Sunday. Upset I'm missing a few cool panels though, maybe I'll change my plans next year. Either way, almost there!

    Driving up to my buddy's dad's place just south of Boston tonight. First time leaving on thursday (free room at his dad's place helps that) gunna be at the con early as my buddy is in the Omegathon.

    i actually felt all paxmas eve LAST night. checking into the westin this afternoon! westin gaming night is so fun, it really feels like pax starts today! i can't wait!

    Same here. I'm giddy. I usually drive in, but I'm staying at the Westin for the first time, so I get to have paxmas eve for the first time.

    Although I'm leaving tonight, from Los Angeles, I won't get into Boston until 7:30 am.

    Money, work and school prevented my group from arriving today. Instead we'll be hopping on a bus at 5am tomorrow to make the trip.

    I am so sad that we can't be there today/tonight! :( We've vowed next year to find some way to stay at the Westin Thursday-Sunday.

    Anyone know what 'teh' event to go to tonight is? I know a lot of them are currently sold out but since I am a late bloomer due to other commitments, I'd love to hear some suggestions.     Maybe, to me PAX doesn't start until the BCEC opens its doors, everything before and after is unofficial and doesn't count.

    I only got a Sat pass due to to having hardly any money at the time plus I thoguht one day for a first timer might be a good move So happy it is not the same weekend as Anime Boston this year. :D Pretty excited for Saturday and pumped to hear about new games
