I don't see it linked in the Steam News anywhere, but Steam has partnered with Zeevex for Steam Wallet loading. This means if you don't have a gamestop or best buy nearby you can load it up with cash much easier, as the cards are sold in a lot of gas stations and convenience stores. You can also load them with smaller numbers, so you can just get a 5 or 10 dollar card rather than the 20 and 50 options of the past. https://gce.zeevex.com/vendor/steam
So yes people, you can now give to the newell when gassing up your car on the way to work.
Remember that rumor about Poker Night at the Inventory 2 a few weeks back?! A few screenshots have been leaked, no confirmation yet but they look pretty real to me.
GLaDOS is the dealer? Moxxi in the bar? *squeeeeee*
2 of the 5 characters aren't from games. I think they're fine with not restricting themselves to it. I mean, yeah, Tycho and Strong Bad technically had games by the time the first one was out but that's hardly why they were added.
I went to go play Poker Night as I realized I had never played it and... I don't actually own it. I was pretty sure I did and yet, it appears I do not. Was it ever available in a bundle or something?

The videogame tycho is also kind of a different character than the Tycho who showed up in Poker Night, anyway.
Repost. Another day or so left, get in on the fun!

Huh. I wonder if they got Bruce Campbell to play Ash. Seems like it'd be heresy if they didn't.
There was actually a PS2 Evil Dead game. I played through it a year or two ago. It was.....OK. Seems like it was the best of all the Evil Dead games that were released.

There was an Xbox/PS2 game that was pretty good. Fistfull of Boomstick.
Had two things going for it that made these boards happy: A taunt button (where Ash throws out a random one liner, with a different set every chapter) and a full color manual several pages large.
Used the State of Emergency engine. Had a bonus video taken during production where they showed Bruce playing it. Said he like voicing the character again and talked about how they got the engine to constantly smoke which was something Sam wanted to do in Evil Dead 2 (they simulated the smoking engine effect in the movie by piping tobacco smoke up Bruce's pants and sleeve, which gave him a huge stain on his skin).
There was also a DC/PS1 game and another, third game where Ash had a sidekick.
That was Evil Dead: regeneration, and it was in fact pretty awesome. Your sidekick is a half human half deadite midget voiced by Ted Raimi, and that's really all that needs to be said if you're an Evil Dead fan.
It was released on PC, but considering it released almost eight years ago and isn't on any DD services good luck finding a copy.

A hat for pre-ordering and 5 more items you could unlock in-game. I'm still not entirely sure if this is real or not, as we are so close to the April Fools' day. Brock being in the game would make sense since Valve has been cooperating with Adult Swim for some time now, not sure about Ash.
So I was buying things on Steam in my web browser, and when I hit the bit where they charge your card, a generic error appeared saying something along the lines of "something went wrong, please contact support." But the games appeared in Steam and a pending charge is on my credit card.
Should I fear the wrath of Valve? I've heard horror stories about accounts getting locked and customer support being unresponsive. Putting Steam into offline mode just in case.
Ash is there because he's a nerd icon with a unique voice that is probably fun to write dialogue for, similar to Brock, and might help the game sell a few more copies. The new movie has no Ash and is clearly distancing itself from the campy nature of the originals so I don't know if it would be very effective cross promotion.

Ah, yeah, the Evil Dead PS2 game I played was Regeneration. I had forgotten about the one that used the State of Emergency engine.

Edit: Note, I know where the character is from, but is there actually a decent Army of Darkness game?
There's a Venture Brothers character in this. I think it's safe to say that they're branching out.

It's also only $5 right now.
It was gifted it to me and it was rad. Thanks!

Is it more than just poker? I'm kind of confused here.
The thing that made the previous one an amazing game in many people's eyes was not the poker itself; that's just a backdrop.
The continuous banter and interaction between the characters was what made it amazing.

I have lost every single one.
I am very bad at Poker.
