Kind of OT, what with no Steam activation, but whatever...it looks like Crusader Kings 2 *everything* is on sale at GamersGate for another 8 hours or so -$9.99 for the base or you can get it with some of the DLC for $12.50 (not sure if that's all the DLC available?). Arghhh...I've been on the fence about this one too.
I want that PC harvest moon game. Stardew valley or whatever. I wants it. I wants to buy it with my money.
My husband and I are all aboard that train. We've even decided that we'd throw over Monster Hunter for that game and we both have 100 hours in Monster Hunter already. Side note: if Monster Hunter were ported to PC and released on Steam that would be amazing (although I still haven't played online with anyone over in that thread because I may be an antisocial jerk).

If by 'Ported to PC' you mean 'The most advanced monster hunter which has been on PC for years now called Frontier' then yes, I agree.
By the by, I really want Frontier and I'm terribly bitter about having to play in moonspeak because it isn't localized. Extremely bitter.
So hey, you want to know what it is like to be a border inspector for a Communist nation? You gotta correlate travel docs, work permits, visas, and find discrepencies just like those TSA agents we all hate at the airport. Except you're paid via piece work so volume counts. Did I mention you need a certain quota so that you can get food and heat for your family as well? and that you are the only working member of you family? Oh by the way, new regulations get foisted on you daily and you need to keep up the volume cause you gotta pay for rent, food, and heat?
If you think you can take on this important task for the country. Check out the beta for this steam greenlight candidate. Glory to Arstotzka!
its actually pretty deep. and soul crushing... I *almost* have a new found respect for these types of people, but I still go through airports... so... yea...

So is the Jurassic Park game terrible-terrible or awesome-terrible? The Metacritic thing is a measly 54; I won't buy stuff based on just Metacritic, obviously, but something rated that badly has to have some stink to it. Should I skip it or not?
It's on sale for $7.50, right? That's a grab-it-and-enjoy price point.
I loved it. Yes, it's rather buggy, and yes, it's an interactive movie more than it's a game, but the former is more a nuisance than a real problem (requiring period exit/restarts, but no gamebreakers) and the latter is just a thing - you can clearly see the roots of The Walking Dead in the gameplay. It's all QTEs, beginning to end, so that is either a dealbreaker or a thing to deal with, your call.
But beyond that, it's just good fun, metacritic be damned. I admit that I am biased as I have a special soft spot in my heart for anything that involves people being eaten by things but Jurassic Park is just so FUN in that regard. The story is not horrible at all - basic fare for the genre. The voice acting and animations and graphics and so on all range from acceptable to really good, no particular headdesk moments. But getting the characters eaten over and over and over... Never gets old.
I wouldn't drop $12, $15, $20 on it. But for $7.50, the price of a movie ticket, you're sure to get more than a movie's worth of entertainment.

And nearly an hour later I'm back.
If this was on Steam for $9.99 I'd be tempted to buy it without it being on sale, if it weren't perfect bundle material. This game is really quite good, keep an eye on it.

that's...not a lot for what is supposed to be an epic episodic story.
Well its being advertised as an 'epic' story anyway
game length isn't everything and those 10 or 11 hours pack one hell of a punch
I think it was a recent Bombcast that talked about how in The Walking Dead game, nothing massive or earthshattering happens. They don't cure the zombie plague, they don't save the world, nothing like that. But for these people their entire lives are changed. It's not supposed to be an epic story.

I meant not a lot for the money, really.
You really, really get a lot for the money. It'll stick with you longer than any cinema experience, maybe longer than your favourite book. It may not be 50 hours of gaming, but it is 12ish hours of condensed heart-wrenching awesomeness.
So for my profile’s 8th birthday (which I think is today) I’m giving some stuff away! Sadly, I don’t have a huge source of funds since my wife is in grad school, but I’ll do what I can to repay the generosity seen here every day.
First off is Bastion, which I love dearly:
Second up is Pro Cycling Manager 2012, because I just got to work, and I ride my bike to work, and I just plain love bikes!
Third, because I learned a harsh lesson about friendship yesterday, Dishonored!
And last, because I just can’t seem to give it away, Portal!!
Best of luck to all who enter!
EDIT: I may have broken Steam Gifts, I can't get the images to load.
What am I supposed to play or do in Poker Night at the Inventory to get the most out of it? I won twice, and each time it was hilarious. Maybe I'm looking for an objective where there are none.

I got gifted the Longest Journey as it was on my wishlist at some point and I've never finished it as it's just not my thing. I tried to do it justice but ran into a "Moon Logic" puzzle that blew my mind.

I still have to play Bastion through - I keep starting it and never finishing it because I'm a terrible person who is easily distracted by the next shiny thing to come along.
If folks don't mind me whining - my son is on his 4th day of a fever (he's at the doctor now), and I'm at work by myself because my teammate is out with a miserable cold/fever myself. My boss has told me if I can clear out our workload she'll get me out a bit early. All I want to do is find out what ails the kid, go home and either sleep or plant carrots or whatever you get to plant in Farming Simulator (I'm buying it tonight finally).
As a side note: is it possible to revert Binding of Isaac to it's non-DLC enhanced version?
So given that this was a point of confusion, and that we believe that no matter what, a promise is a promise, we are including Expansions in what you can expect to get for free if you have already bought the game. Also, for those considering purchasing the game, we will maintain this promise for all purchases made until the end of this month (April, 2013).
So if you end up getting it before the end of April, all future expansions will be free.
Here's a screenshot I took last night:
Tonight I'm going to finish walking dead. About to start Episode 5 (finished 4 last night). Then on the weekend going to split time between Kerbal and Sleeping Dogs.
What am I supposed to play or do in Poker Night at the Inventory to get the most out of it? I won twice, and each time it was hilarious. Maybe I'm looking for an objective where there are none.
That's pretty much it. Just enjoy the conversations. Occasionally one of the characters might throw their "special item" into the pool. If you win, you get that item in Team Fortress 2.
In short: if Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon will go on sale in your country, we’re going to send you a free copy as a thank you for participating in our Never Settle Reloaded program. We’re doing this because we feel it perfectly captures the spirit of our AMD Gaming Evolved program, which makes "gamers come first" as its prime philosophy.
So if I'm understanding this correctly, if you bought a 7000 series card and got the Never Settle voucher you're getting blood dragon for free.
That you get for free if you bought a card that included the promotion. So if you already got Bioshock:Infinite and Tomb Raider/Crysis3 you are getting an extra game after the fact for free. $15 game or not that is a pretty fucking nice thing for them to do to include it in with everyone who has redeemed the code already rather than just starting a new promo with it.
I'm not spouting off go out and buy a card for this, I'm saying that IF you already bought a card (to take advantage of the bioshock deal) you are getting FC:BD for free on top of your stuff you got.

but again quantity doesn't equal quality

On the one hand it implies you may already all own Bastion.
On the other hand it implies the small number that don't are uninterested in Bastion.
Fix that guys, genuinely a great game regardless of whether you're a fan of top down ARPG's or not.
Wait what? Harvest moon is my motherfucking jam
